The Yu-Gi-Oh! World Championship 2003, also abbreviated as WCS 2003, was a Yu-Gi-Oh! Official (OCG) and Trading Card Game (TCG) tournament that was held at the Madison Square Garden in New York City on 10 August 2003, being the most prestigious and final event of the 2002-2003 season. It was held alongside the Yu-Gi-Oh! Video Game World Championship 2003.

This was the first ever Yu-Gi-Oh! World Championship.

The TCG/OCG tournament was mostly dominated by "Hand Destruction" decks, with all Top 4 competitors using variations of this strategy. Yu Leung Ng became the inaugural Yu-Gi-Oh! World Champion, defeating Shigeki Kitamura in the finals. Mike Rosenberg and Huai Tao Sun were the semifinalists.[1]

At the Video Game tournament, played on the Game Boy Advance, Francois Ferry emerged victorious, with Michael McFall taking the silver medal. Two Japanese players, including Koichi Yasuma, were the semifinalists.[2]
