I'd honestly like to consider doing this since I've been uploading images here for quite a while and there's certainly images that are improperly named and/or just don't belong on this wiki, especially as of late. I know Admins already have the power to deal with this but most of them moved to Yugipedia and those that are still here, which isn't many aren't on often enough. Not sure whether Image Moderator is the right title for this position. I'm also on here constantly so there's that too. --MasterMarik (talkcontribs) 21:05, June 17, 2018 (UTC)

I've seen you putting DELETE tag on many articles, so I think just Image moderator won't be the correct name of what you will need to be. I will give you a +1 on nominating yourself fo this position.0123456789 The Great (talkcontribs) 04:33, June 19, 2018 (UTC)
Can you confirm what permission you are requesting? You might mean mover or content moderator. -- Deltaneos (talk) 02:21, July 4, 2018 (UTC)

He probably need Content Mod. 0123456789 The Great (talkcontribs) 07:36, July 4, 2018 (UTC)

Yes, content mod is probably the closest to what I want. I've noticed a handful of images that don't belong here. --MasterMarik (talkcontribs) 20:01, July 6, 2018 (UTC)

Request closed: User has gained Adminship

Hi, my name is Energy X, and this is my request for content moderator! Since there's no actual form for content moderator, I've answered the questions from the administrator request.

I would spend time monitoring the site. Lots of people have been unruly lately, so to speak. Lots of edit warring, disrespect of rules and vandalism these days. This is something that cannot be tolerated. With the absence of a lot of admins that have moved to the new site, this one has become unattended. Besides that, there's lots of images and articles that have been uploaded by mistake, or are unused. Finally, I have noticed that ordinary people cannot move pages, which is somewhat of a problem. I just can't stress enough that a site big as this needs more (active) administrators, or moderators at least.

As you may have seen, I usually am involved in editing character biographies, which is a demanding task. Not just here, but on another site I edit, too. Also, since nobody is around to do (ARC-V) manga, I have taken up that role, too.

User conflicts is something that occurs. I do try to warn people when they are doing something wrong, something which contradicts the rules. Usually they fail to listen, but that's their problem, since they don't want to follow the rules. At other times, I do try to be calm when a dispute is going on.

You don't need to worry about lack of experience. I am an admin on MM, PKMN and Fallout sites.

Questions

Questions from Deltaneos. -- Deltaneos (talk) 02:21, July 4, 2018 (UTC)

1. Have you been involved in any discussions on whether or not a page should be deleted?
A: I did a few times. The best thing to do is simply point out your side of the arguments why the page should (or should not) be deleted, but without any hostile tone.
2. Have you been involved in any discussions on what action to take in an edit war?
A: I did warn once a user that their image was badly named. That user ignored me, and another user, by continuing to post the image. Didn't do anything about it but wait for an administrator to block them. For if I did participate in the edit war, it'd just cause more mess, probably even aggravate the user even further. Besides, what else to do with persistent users that refuse to listen (or read, that is)?
3. Could you give examples of the edit warring and disrespect you've mentioned and describe how you would like to handle it if you were given more userrights?
A: There have been numerous times when people have been really annoying, so to speak. At best, with these user rights, I can lock the page and talk to the user, give pointers what they are doing wrong. At least, when I can feel they are being sincere; obvious vandalism is not to be tolerated.
4. Are there any pages currently in Category:Candidates for Deletion, which you would be hesitant about deleting? If so, what steps would you take to decide what to do with them?
A: Some pages are obvious to be deleted, either a leftover page or simply poorly named. In that category, vandal pages or pages that do not meet the criteria are also to be deleted. Otherwise, I can at least discuss why the page should (or should not) be deleted.
5. What repercussions could occur when a page is deleted, but the author either does not understand or agree with the deletion? What would do to avoid such repercussions?
A: Again, if the page is deleted, either it was done by mistake (which can be reverted and undeleted) or simply it does not meet the criteria. In the case of latter, the user can be at least asked to read the rules, or simply see other pages as example. If they can't do the latter, I would be really disappointed in them.
6. Is renaming pages an area you intend to get involved in? Can you confirm you understand how to tidy up after a page move, as described here?
A: Sure thing. It's a bit strange that the site has only limited number of users that can move pages. Anyway, after moving a page, the rest that is needed is to use Special:Whatlinkshere, type in the former page name, trace the links and change them to the new name. Any large pages would need a few days to do that, since lots of links point to them, too.

Comments

If you claim to have the EXP, you might as well as become our new admin. We need 1 banhammer and the other can just submit "ban suggest form" to admin.0123456789 The Great (talkcontribs) 12:35, July 2, 2018 (UTC)
Well sure, though I would like to hear the bureaucrat's opinion first. Energy X 10:46, July 3, 2018 (UTC)

Discussion

Before the fork, I was just a normal editor who always assume good faith (this track back to my first, discarded account. More note can be seen at my user page). I have messed up badly, and is put on a warning. But I learn from my mistake, and is ready for teaching, if needed. I started adding in needed JALORE, if necessary, lately.

After the fork, if Supratim is not doing it, I have to add in new card page. And I sometimes upload JPG file by mistake, so I need DELETE tool to fix that. Also, there are too many Candidates for deletion/rename, and hardly anyone is there to discuss. I am there to discuss the change, if necessary.

I am an admin on the ARC-V wikia. Even if the site is nothing more than a downgraded copycat of this site, it is large enough on its right. It also houses more Manga detail, so we may be able to fetch info from there. (It's me and User:Frost190, she does all the job). Also, I am an admin of a small Yu-Gi-Oh! anime/manga discussion group. (Not very small, but judging from the number of active members, relatively small). So I have some administration experience.

I hereby request the authority, and inherent to that, duty of CONTENT MODERATOR.

Approve. Maybe also call users feom VRAINS wiki, too? Energy X 10:46, July 3, 2018 (UTC)
That place is dead since Jasmine444 had her account disabled and the other admins are off. But maybe.0123456789 The Great (talkcontribs) 07:36, July 4, 2018 (UTC)
It might also be wise to import content from those sites, too. At least text that we don't have here. It's just that there's nobody on the dead sites to manage such content, and we can at least adopt such content, since it is on the same host (Fandom/Wikia). Energy X 23:26, July 8, 2018 (UTC)
I am asking Frost if she would co-op with this 0123456789 The Great (talkcontribs) 00:12, July 11, 2018 (UTC)

He will need DELETE tool, but since Deltaneos put his comment in "Oppose" section of Igor's ADMIN nomination, this position is , if not, a must for him. 0123456789 The Great (talkcontribs) 11:23, July 12, 2018 (UTC)
