"Supremacy 1: The Man Who Shall Be King" is the first chapter of the Yu-Gi-Oh! SEVENS - Luke! Legend of Exploding Military Rule!!.
Summary[]
At Goha 7th Elementary School, a guy with spiky hair is running to reach the school's store. The guy is the self-proclaimed Number One Duelist, Tatsuhisa "Luke" Kamijo, and this is his story how he became the King. Reaching the caféteria, Luke reaches for two "SEVENS burgers", and just as he does that, another hand grasps the burgers. The other boy is Yuga Ohdo (the Rush Duel inventor), who asks of Luke to let him have the last burger. Luke understands his request, but eyes Yuga for his bad way of begging. Thus, Luke dares Yuga to challenge him for the burgers. The two play rock, paper, scissors, and just as Luke goes to show his hand, Yuga emits a plaque showing the rock hand symbol. Smug, Yuga fools Luke into casting a paper against his scissors, and wins the burger. The more kids, Romin Kirishima and Gakuto Sogetsu - the band member and the council president - arrive, muttering that Yuga made a new 'Road'.
Yuga blushes, for he used this to trick Luke, who throws this invention away. Luke argues that this was unfair, and corrects himself: when he asked for a challenge, he wanted Yuga to duel him. Yuga smiles, and accepts this challenge, for the ownership of the SEVENS burger. Luke remarks that his challenges always get rejected, but he never turns down someone else challenging him. Outside, the two boys brace themselves, facing each other in the Duel, with both sides having 4000 LP. Just as the Duel starts, Gakuto reminds them that he will never forgive them if they continue the Duel past their break, even for a second. Romin wishes the two boys luck, before taking pictures with her phone. Yuga anticipates to wrap this up in no time, but Luke doubts that, as he draws a card.
Luke Normal Summons a "Dragon Bat", then Tributes it for a "Fire Guardian". Gakuto is enthusiastic about Luke's powerful monster, whereas Romin sees he goes all the way out from the start. Before continuing on, Luke reminds Yuga while in a normal Duel, a player can Normal Summon once per turn - thus making monsters more important - in a Rush Duel, they can summon as many times as possible. Thinking that one could summon up to 1000 monsters in a turn, Luke shouts out how unfair that rule is. Gakuto and Romin are unsure why is Luke behaving like a beginner in Dueling, while he sets three cards. Yuga draws a card, then summons "Spell Archer" and "Stray Familiar". As he tributes the two monsters, Romin anticipates the arrival of his ace: Yuga chants that this monster can cut through any obstacle: "Sevens Road Magician" is Tribute Summoned.
Luke becomes nervous, even more so when he activates "Wind Spirit's Blessing" to increase the magician's ATK by 1000, by sending "Hydro Magician" from his hand to the GY. Moreover, Yuga uses the effect of magician to power itself up by 300 ATK for each monster in his GY with a different Attribute. Luke is overwhelmed, seeing "Sevens Road" with 4000 ATK. Gakuto is astounded, while Romin believes this is Yuga's way to punish Luke for being whiny. Yuga makes it clear he just wants a burger: "Sevens Road Magician" holds its sword up, casting a spell to destroy "Fire Guardian". Luke kneels down, his LP dropping to 2100, thinking this is an unfair move. As Yuga ends his turn, Gakuto reminds that their lunch break is over. Luke smiles maliciously, showing he has no cards in his hand.
Due to the rules, Luke draws five cards, and is ecstatic about having so many cards. Due to this, he Normal Summons "Palm-Sized Drago", "Dragon Bat" and "Dragon's Priestess". Looking at his field, Luke is a bit smitten, realizing that it feels good to summon so many monsters at once, even if it is unfair to him. As Romin calls him gross, Gakuto finds the mass summon mechanic pleasant. Regardless, Luke tributes "Palm-Sized Drago" and "Dragon Bat" to summon a monster from the galaxy nova: his ace with glowing eyes, "Rush Dragon Dragears". Yuga gasps, seeing Luke was lucky to have drawn his ace. Luke activates its effect, sending a monster from the top of his Deck to enable "Rush Dragon Dragears" to attack twice this turn. With "Dragears'" core powered up, it attacks and destroys "Sevens Road Magician", inflicting 400 LP damage to Yuga. Luke reminds that the gears are in motion, to which Yuga is aware of: "Rush Dragon Dragears" can attack once more, to which Gakuto and Romin see the dragon lives up to its name. "Dragears" attacks Yuga directly, dropping his LP to 1100.
Yuga drops to the floor, whereas Luke proclaims his victory. Romin reminds Yuga has some LP left, so Luke has his "Dragon's Pristess" pull Yuga's hair to inflict 1100 damage, thus defeating him. Luke cheers for his victory, while Yuga sighs. Much to the latter's surprise, Luke gives him the burger, claiming there is a reason he bought two burgers. The boys sit down with Gakuto and Romin. The latter two praise Luke, as he reminds that he merely wished a challenge, for Yuga didn't have to win that. Still, Luke proclaims Yuga to be unfair: he invented Rush Duels all by himself, whereas Luke reminds this is his story how he became the King.
Featured Duel: Yuga Ohdo vs. Tatsuhisa Kamijo[]
Turn 1: Tatsuhisa Kamijo
Luke Normal Summons "Dragon Bat" (Level 3/1000/400), then tributes it to Normal Summon "Fire Guardian" (Level 6/2100/400). He then sets three cards.
Turn 2: Yuga Ohdo
Yuga Normal Summons "Spell Archer" (Level 3/1000/400) and "Stray Familiar" (Level 1/0/1400), then tributes the latter two to Normal Summon "Sevens Road Magician" (Level 7/2100/1500). Yuga activates "Wind Spirit's Blessing" Normal Spell Card, increasing the ATK of "Sevens Road" by 1000, but sending "Hydro Magician" from his hand to the GY ("Sevens Road": 2100 → 3100 ATK). Next, Yuga activates the effect of "Sevens Road Magician" to increase its ATK by 300, for each monster with different Attribute in the GY ("Sevens Road": 3100 → 4000 ATK). "Sevens Road" attacks and destroys "Fire Guardian" (Luke: 4000 → 3600 LP). At the end of the turn, the ATK boosts of "Sevens Road" expire ("Sevens Road": 4000 → 2100 ATK).
Turn 3: Tatsuhisa Kamijo
As Luke has no cards in his hand, he draws five cards. Luke Normal Summons "Dragon's Priestess" (Level 3/1100/100), "Palm-Sized Drago" (Level 1/0/1400) and "Dragon Bat", then tributes the latter two to Tribute Summon "Rush Dragon Dragears" (Level 7/2500/1500). Luke activates the latter's effect, sending the top card of his Deck to let it attack again, if it destroys a monster by battle. "Rush Dragon Dragears" attacks and destroys "Sevens Road Magician" (Yuga: 4000 → 3600 LP), then attacks Yuga directly (Yuga: 3600 → 1100 LP. Finally, "Dragon's Priestess" attacks Yuga directly, too (Yuga: 1100 → 0 LP).
