"The Beautiful Trap!" is the fifty-sixth chapter of Yu-Gi-Oh! Duelist manga and the one-hundred-and-fifteenth chapter of Yu-Gi-Oh!. It was first printed in Japanese in the Weekly Shonen Jump magazine. It was reprinted in volume 7 of Yu-Gi-Oh! Duelist.

Yugi Mutou vs Mai Kujaku


Yugi Mutou's Turn[]

Yugi Summons "Summoned Skull" in Attack Position and attacks Harpy Lady, but "Mirror Wall" activated again, reducing "Summoned Skull's" ATK to 1250 and negating the attack.

Mai Kujaku's Turn[]

Mai activates "Harpie's Feather Duster", sending Yugi's face-down card ("Spellbinding Circle") to the Graveyard.

Yugi Mutou's Turn[]

Yugi changes "Summoned Skull" to Defense Position and Summons "Feral Imp" in Defense Position.

Mai Kujaku's Turn[]

Mai equips "Harpy Lady" with "Electro-Whip", raising her ATK to 2100 and attacks "Feral Imp", destroying it.

Yugi Mutou's Turn[]

Yugi Summons "Torike" in Defense Position.

Mai Kujaku's Turn[]

She Summons "Harpy's Pet Dragon" in Attack Position. Its ATK raises to 2300 because of its effect. It attacks and destroys "Summoned Skull".

Anime adaption[]

This chapter was redone in the end of episode 29 of the Yu-Gi-Oh! anime. A number of changed were made including:

  • Mai still wore her jacket and her skin was not visible under the strings of her lace-up top. The latter change was applied throughout the entire Duelist Kingdom arc.
  • During the Duel, Yugi still wore his jacket.
  • Joey (Jonouchi) was about to fall from the balcony, while he was talking with Mai.
