Eyes on the Prize, known as The Duelists with the Rune Eye in the Japanese version, is the one-hundred and twenty third episode of Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's.

Team 5D's next opponent is Team Ragnarok, who wields the "Rune Eye", serving as the proof of their status as the successors of the Three Aesirs. Wielding the Three Aesirs, like Yusei and co. who wield the Five Signer Dragons, Team Ragnarok is also involved in the crisis threatening the world caused by Team New World. When Yusei and co. encounter them, Harald takes the opportunity to explain the story behind the "Aesirs" and how the members of Team Ragnarok came to obtain them.

Yusei then asks the three members of Team Ragnarok to help expose the plot of Team New World. However, Harald declines, claiming that the three Aesirs are not willing to enter an alliance with the Crimson Dragon's Signers, believing Yusei to be cursed because Dr. Fudo caused Zero Reverse. The enmity between Dragan and Jack is also explored, as the two had dueled in the past, only for Dragan to be forced to lose on purpose by Lazar and Rex Goodwin in order to raise money for his father's hospitalization.

Team Ragnarok challenges Team 5D's in tomorrow's Semifinal match, where the winner earns the right to face Team New World.

Jack Summons Top Runner (1100 ATK) then sets 2 cards face-down and ends his turn.

Dragan's turn
Dragan Summons Garm of the Nordic Beasts (800 ATK) then sets 1 card face-down.

Jack's turn
Jack Summons Power Breaker, then tunes Top Runner to Power Breaker to Synchro Summon Red Dragon Archfiend (3000 ATK). He attacks Garm of the Nordic Beasts with Red Dragon Archfiend. Dragan hesitates about activating his face down trap, but doesn't do it in order to let Jack win.

The rest of the Duel is not shown.

Trivia

  • The dub version of this episode aired on June 25, 2011, which is one week after Episode 110 aired. This resulted in the dub skipping episodes 111-122. The skipping of these episodes will create some continuity problems. This episode states the three Emperors are registered in the WRGP as Team New World, which they accomplished by falsifying history in episode 117, and later in episode 125 and shown in the first few English commercials relating to the battle between Team 5D's and Team Ragnarok, Jack will summon Red Nova Dragon, which he obtained in Episode 113.
