Yugi Muto VS Joey Wheeler is a Duel which takes place during the Yu-Gi-Oh! second series anime, between Yugi Muto and Joey Wheeler in the Duelist Kingdom final. Yugi played this Duel as Yami Yugi for this Duel.
This Duel did not happen in the manga, since Yugi and Joey (Jonouchi) would receive the same prizes either way.
Events
Yugi and Joey each progressed to the final of Duelist Kingdom. Joey was fighting for the prize money in order to pay for his sister Serenity's eye operation, while Yugi was fighting for the chance to Duel Pegasus in order to free the souls of his Grandpa, Seto Kaiba and Mokuba Kaiba.
Joey fought using what he'd knowledge he gained from Yugi and his previous Duelist Kingdom Duels. The first few turns consisted of each player bringing out stronger monsters to beat the one their opponent last used. They then started using Magic Cards to strengthen and weaken each other's monsters. Pegasus was surprised how little they held back. Joey managed take advantage of cards Yugi used to Summon "Black Skull Dragon". However Yugi hid from its attacks using "Magical Hats". Joey unsuccessfully tried baiting Yugi into attacking, so "Black Skull Dragon" could get at Yugi's Life Points. Eventually Yugi managed to weaken "Black Skull Dragon" and strengthen "Dark Magician" enough to beat it. Joey used "Time Wizard" to age "Baby Dragon" into "Thousand Dragon" and weaken "Dark Magician", which he unknowingly turned into "Dark Sage". "Dark Sage" blocked Joey's attack and next turn Yugi revived "Black Skull Dragon", which he used to take out Joey's remaining Life Points.
As Yugi won, Joey handed him "Glory of the King's Hand", so that Yugi could claim to prize money, but Yugi told him to keep it to pay for Serenity's operation. Having won, Yugi got to face Pegasus in a Duel.

He activated "Shield & Sword". ("Flame Swordsman": 1800 → 1600 ATK / 1600 → 1800 DEF, "Summoned Skull": 2500 → 1200 ATK / 1200 → 2500 DEF).
"Flame Swordsman" attacked and destroyed "Summoned Skull" (Yami: 1550 → 1150 Life Points).

Yami Summons "Curse of Dragon" in Attack Position.
He activated "Polymerization", sending "Gaia the Fierce Knight" and "Curse of Dragon" to the Graveyard to Fusion Summon "Gaia the Dragon Champion" in Attack Position.
"Gaia the Dragon Champion" attacked and destroyed "Flame Swordsman" (Joey: 1550 → 750 Life Points).
Joey's turn
Joey Normal Summoned "Red-Eyes Black Dragon" in Attack Position.
He activated "Graverobber" to Special Summon "Summoned Skull" in Attack Position
He activated "Copycat" to copy the effect of "Polymerization", sending "Red-Eyes Black Dragon" and "Summoned Skull" to the Graveyard to Fusion Summon "Black Skull Dragon" in Attack Position.
"Black Skull Dragon" attacked and destroyed "Gaia the Dragon Champion" (Yami: 1150 → 550 Life Points).
Yami's turn
Yami Summoned "Dark Magician" in Attack Position.
He activated "Magical Hats", hiding "Dark Magician" under one.
Joey's turn
"Black Skull Dragon" attacked and destroyed an empty hat.
Joey Normal Summoned "Garoozis" in Attack Position.

Yami Set a card under one of the hats.

"Black Skull Dragon" attacked and destroyed another empty hat.

Yami equips "Book of Secret Arts" to "Dark Magician" ("Dark Magician": 2500 → 2800 ATK).
"Dark Magician" attacks and destroys "Black Skull Dragon" (Joey: 750 → 450 Life Points).

Joey Summons "Baby Dragon" in Attack Position.
Joey Sets a card in the Spell & Trap Card Zone.
Yami's turn
"Dark Magician" attacked "Baby Dragon", but Joey activated "Kunai with Chain" negating the attack.
Joey's turn
Joey activates "Time Wizard". Its effect was successful and "Baby Dragon" transformed into "Thousand Dragon" and "Dark Magician" into "Dark Sage" (100 ATK).
"Thousand Dragon" attacked "Dark Sage", but Yami uses the effect of "Dark Sage" to activate "Makiu, the Magical Mist" from his hand negating the attack.
Yami's turn
Yami activated "Monster Reborn", Special Summoning "Black Skull Dragon" in Attack Position.
"Black Skull Dragon" attacked and destroyed "Thousand Dragon" (Joey: 450 → 0 Life Points).
