Vector's mother sacrifices herself to save her son (this scene is cut from the dub).
This woman was the wife of a a fierce conqueror. When he fell ill, she instructed their son, Vector to take over. A peaceful man in contrast to his father, Vector forged peace treaties rather than continue the war. This enraged his father, who attempted to kill him. She intervened and was struck down instead. Afterwards, her husband died of his affliction and Don Thousand modified Vector's memories so he would become more like his father and eventually reincarnate into a Barian.[1] Vector would remember this event as him having murdered his own parents.[2]
