Archetypes

Any card that contain the specified string of Japanese text in its Japanese name is considered a member of the archetype, even if it does not receive support from current archetype support cards. Ergo, "Abyss Soldier" is an "Abyss" card. There was an exhaustive forum discussion that came to that consensus. Please do not change it without discussion. Thanks, Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 16:20, May 21, 2012 (UTC)

Ok. I'll watch out next time. GMTails (talkcontribs) 19:56, May 21, 2012 (UTC)

Aw :( I was in the middle of creating the page Card Artworks:Superdreadnought Rail Cannon Gustav Max but you finished it before I could :/ lol. I messed up badly though. This taught me the proper way to create an artwork page so I thank you :) (Diclonus (talkcontribs) 03:45, July 15, 2012 (UTC))

Thank you for find one, but it's not a suitable image for the one you put in - please memorize the information that Cheesy posted in the Summary (just click it and read from there). Hope you have a good time in the Wikia and offline (real life). --iFredCat 01:41, September 11, 2012 (UTC)

Potential image policy change

Hello, there is currently a discussion about changing our image policy at Forum:Potential image policy change. Because such changes are accompanied by a huge amount of work (renaming thousands of files, and updating thousands of pages), we want to make as few of them as possible. Therefore, your input is requested on the proposed change, as well as any comments on other possible changes you have in mind. If you have any questions about the image policy, now is also a good time to ask. Thanks!

Kickman without Image

Not against you or something, I am just curious of how you know that the coming-up card featured "Kick Man" and "Inpachi"? --iFredCat 00:33, January 12, 2013 (UTC)

Konami has made a post about it. I may be wrong, but those seem like Woodborg Inpachi and The Kick Man to me. GMTails (talkcontribs) 00:45, January 12, 2013 (UTC)
Just saw that posted, so you're safe for good now. I was just be caution when coming with all those spamming in the past. Nothing seriously with you here. --iFredCat 00:49, January 12, 2013 (UTC)
That's ok (: GMTails (talkcontribs) 00:56, January 12, 2013 (UTC)

Card Numbers

Hey, GMT. When making Card Number redirects, please add {{R from card number}} (like so). It something that we've started doing not too long ago. Thanks! --Golden Key (talkcontribs) 14:33, February 11, 2013 (UTC)

Oh, I wasn't aware of that. Thank you for telling me. GMTails (talkcontribs) 14:48, February 11, 2013 (UTC)
No prob. It was never formally "announced", so it's understandable people wouldn't know to do it. :) --Golden Key (talkcontribs) 15:39, February 11, 2013 (UTC)

Fixed

Guess what? It fixed itself.--Thanonyx (talkcontribs) 22:21, March 2, 2013 (UTC)

That was unexpected. But well, thanks for letting me know I wasn't the only one :P GMTails (talkcontribs) 23:07, March 2, 2013 (UTC)

Gagaga Academy Tospedia card images

I appreciate the effect you put into putting the images into their card galleries. However, those are unofficial; I looked up the biggest card images that I could find, then cropped out the card so only the artwork remained. As such, they only qualify as a sort of "fan-art." These images are only meant to serve as placeholders until high quality videogame images come out (much like the Tag Force artworks). The card storyline pages wouldn't look quite as good without them, wouldn't you say? --UltimateKuriboh (talkcontribs) 02:26, April 8, 2013 (UTC)

Oh, so they aren't from the PDF. Their quality looked pretty good, so I though it wasn't a normal scan. Sorry for the trouble, and yes, the page does look a lot better with them. GMTails (talkcontribs) 04:19, April 8, 2013 (UTC)

Master Guide Duel Terminal card storylines

I'd like to know where you're getting the info from. Don't really consider anything else "official" unless it comes from one of the Organization's members, one of which includes NeoArkadia. If it isn't from one of them, at the very least, they can verify it. (I'm guessing this info is coming from Pojo? Random guess.) --UltimateKuriboh (talkcontribs) 03:34, April 10, 2013 (UTC)

It was from here, although NeoArk himself mentioned he probably wouldn't do a translation. I'll stop adding new info for now, just until this is all clear. GMTails (talkcontribs) 03:43, April 10, 2013 (UTC)
No, those translations on Pojo were "legit" translations, albeit very summarized ones. Ark would only be willing to translate them if he had high-resolution scans (he won't settle for cruddy quality), and Dark Evangel is picky enough to not want to transcribe all of the storylines so Ark could give his version. Just play the waiting game I guess. --UltimateKuriboh (talkcontribs) 02:30, April 13, 2013 (UTC)

Appearance Rename

Done, you're luck that I was around to grasp that situation you're stuck in. --iFredCat 16:30, June 28, 2013 (UTC)

Thanks for the help. I had to go and I couldn't move the Appearance article, glad you were around. GMTails (talkcontribs) 23:09, June 28, 2013 (UTC)
Glad to be helpful. You must had busy hour at that time, eh? --iFredCat 23:33, June 28, 2013 (UTC)

Convite

GMTails (talkcontribs) 22:26, October 26, 2013 (UTC)

Anime Artworks

Don't upload the images on the card articles if there's already a card image available. The image of the actual card still takes priority. Only do it in cases when there is no image of the card. Irreparable (talkcontribs) 18:24, December 15, 2013 (UTC)

Thanks for the heads-up. I'll follow that. GMTails (talkcontribs) 18:26, December 15, 2013 (UTC)
This is to be handled on a case-by-case basis. If the image is poor quality, overly obstructed, etc, you may use one of the official site's images. --Golden Key (talkcontribs) 18:48, December 15, 2013 (UTC)

Mover rights

GM, I've upgraded you to mover. If you wrongly name an image, now you can just change the name (suppress the redirect when you do). Sorry about confusing you with the OP/OW stuff earlier. Images were coming in before we had a chance to actually come up with the a naming scheme. --Golden Key (talkcontribs) 18:42, December 15, 2013 (UTC)

Please, just put in XXXX-OW.png, where XXXX is card name. That is all we need, since these pictures are coming from one website. Putting in which anime it came from, or the language, is irrelevant. We'll move the other images later. --UltimateKuriboh (talkcontribs) 19:02, December 15, 2013 (UTC)
  • Ahem* Sorry about that last bit. Got the change comparisons confused and actually thought you changed the 'A' back to a 'P'. Apparently I'M the one dumb piece of shit.

Yeah, but here's the annoying part; The one time I get frustrated enough to jump to foul language, and I'm the one at fault, because I notice this so frequently. If you look through a few of my contributions, you can see that a few schmucks who don't use the preview button screwed some of the the pages before I came in and undid their inconsiderate "contributions."

FAYAL (talkcontribs) 03:21, April 17, 2014 (UTC)

OW images

GM, please only replace the anime image on card pages with the OW image if the former is illegible. Thanks. --Golden Key (talkcontribs) 00:04, April 29, 2014 (UTC)

Ok, I'll do that. GMTails (talkcontribs) 20:41, April 29, 2014 (UTC)

Card Trivia monster appearances

Please don't use "This card appears in X" for things like Midrash and Leo. It's only appropriate for things like "Royal Command" ("This card appears in the artwork of "Trap Stun".), since the card literally appears in the artwork. So for monsters (and not Monster Cards), just say "This monster". --UltimateKuriboh (talkcontribs) 12:57, May 16, 2014 (UTC)

Sorry, I didn't realise that. I'll do that from now on. GMTails (talkcontribs) 13:03, May 16, 2014 (UTC)

Featured Duel

I know you're the one who wrote this week's Featured Duel, but just for future reference, after a monster is mentioned by its full name, try to find a way to shorten it, i.e. Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon -> Odd-Eyes. ChaosGallade (talkcontribs) 16:09, September 21, 2014 (UTC)

OCG-TCG card image

You can't just insert it in and expect magic to happen. You have to manually insert the parameters. Check this for an example. --UltimateKuriboh (talkcontribs) 18:16, November 12, 2014 (UTC)

You're adding things to the licensing that breaks it. --Golden Key (talkcontribs) 23:52, December 1, 2014 (UTC)
Just don't include the stuff I added when you upload, the rest is fine. I took out the rarity because those images were proxies, but otherwise that would be included, of course. --Golden Key (talkcontribs) 02:42, December 2, 2014 (UTC)

Card Galleries and Card table set

Fyi, we do the languages in alphabetical order (Korean being the odd exception for card lores and card sets...). So Portuguese comes before Spanish, not after. --UltimateKuriboh (talkcontribs) 01:33, January 28, 2015 (UTC)

Yeah. Except for card names, in which case it's alphabetized and comes before the Japanese name. --UltimateKuriboh (talkcontribs) 02:42, January 28, 2015 (UTC)

PT card images

In case you didn't know already, we now have an efficient way of getting good-quality non-watermarked images (although some cards may be missing from that site...). In any case, would you mind sharing which website you got those images from?
And yeah... Would greatly appreciate if you could help put PT names and lores on the Wiki, since the website I linked does give lores, but they don't actually say what the PT card says. It is hell for me trying to type the actual PT lores. But only if you can do it more easily than me! --UltimateKuriboh (talkcontribs) 00:29, March 20, 2015 (UTC)

Unused image space

Please don't remove empty images from Card Galleries like you did for "Cyber Dragon". At the very least, make sure their naming scheme is correct, and change it to .png. We don't remove empty images, because we don't want to manually add them each time. We only remove them when we are absolutely sure they were never released in that language or edition. I'm actually confused by this, since you add empty images for some card galleries when you upload the PT card image for them. --UltimateKuriboh (talkcontribs) 16:52, March 22, 2015 (UTC)

Korean Card Gallery

Thanks for catching my mistake in the 1 Card Gallery. Regarding Susanowo, Korean sets don't have Ultimate Rares anymore, FYI. If you doubt the KR card gallery, just go to http://www.tcgshop.co.kr/ and type in the Korean Set ID of the card. Site can take a bit to load though... --UltimateKuriboh (talkcontribs) 02:32, April 10, 2015 (UTC)

WSUP set numbers

Personally, I would have waited for their English names to be confirmed before creating them. We've had weird things in other languages; for example, the French name of "Tour Guide From the Underworld" is "Guide des Enfers" ("Hell Guide") and the Spanish name of "Qliphort Stealth" is "Avión Furtivo Qlifuerte" ("Qliphort Stealth Plane"). As a counterexample, you can see that the French name of "Guard Go" seems to be translated as "Guard, Go!" (which you'll probably have to fix in your redirects, once the EN name is confirmed). --UltimateKuriboh (talkcontribs) 20:37, April 13, 2015 (UTC)

Crossed Souls images

You haven't finished inputting the various French images of the 1st edition of Crossed Souls as shown in http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Special:NewFiles?until=20150513130831, http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Special:NewFiles?until=20150513133646, and in http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Special:NewFiles. Can you finish inputting the images in? Thanks!Cardsknower (talkcontribs) 02:42, May 14, 2015 (UTC)

I get these proxies from this blog. Also, if you like, you can follow the official Portuguese twitter or facebook page. WinterNightmare (talkcontribs) 20:48, October 1, 2015 (UTC)

Hello

Hello , You speak Portuguese ?, because for me is more easy talk in Portuguese

Hey Gmtails! I saw you made a new version of my Declan/Leo Pan,could I ask how you did it? In case I need to do it in the future I'm genuinely curious because you've done such a great job with it (YuGi Mon Cards (talkcontribs) 17:14, April 18, 2016 (UTC))

No prob man,it really is quite impressive great work! http://i.imgur.com/iZQxwp4.png

No prob man! It's actually quite impressive, nice work! (YuGi Mon Cards (talkcontribs) 17:28, April 18, 2016 (UTC))

Can you make a ruling for odd eyes gravity dragon? People on DN believe that the "paying 500 lifepoints effect" is once per turn. --Lord-susaki (talkcontribs) 05:39, April 30, 2016 (UTC)

Uploading pics

Hi GMTails. I see you upload several pics. I've come up with something that might be useful for you. Please give this a look and, if you find it useful, feel free to use it.
If you decide to not use it, could please use region instead of lang? They are exactly the same, but the index passed as an argument is actually a region index, not a language index. Thanks! Becasita Pendulum (talkcontribs) 22:26, May 29, 2016 (UTC)

You're welcome! If you detect any problems and/or have any suggestions, please let me know. Becasita Pendulum (talkcontribs) 00:25, May 30, 2016 (UTC)

RE:Paladin of Felgrand and similar searchers

This is starting to approach the shady side of determining which "searchers" deserve spots on the Tips page =/. In Dragon-Type Decks, "Paladin of Felgrand" can't make its equipped Dragon accessible until Paladin leaves the field or the Equip gets sent to the Graveyard. There is no natural way of doing these things, except by virtue of Paladin's Special Summon effect or subsequently crashing Paladin (or stuff like "Parallel Twister", "Ruins of the Divine Dragon Lords", etc.). "Dragunity Divine Lance" is different, since the "Dragunity" cards love their "Dragunity" monsters that are now Equip Cards; the Equip Card is immediately usable, by virtue of the equipped monster's effect and/or the effect of the monster-turned-into-Equip Card. "Crystal Tree" is similar, except the "Crystal Beast" Continuous Spell Cards don't do anything by themselves. But in a "Crystal Beast" Deck, there a lot of card effects that rely on "Crystal Beast" Continuous Spell Cards. In other words, I'd equate "Paladin of Felgrand" to something like "Deep Diver", which isn't immediately useful unless you have a draw card. --UltimateKuriboh (talkcontribs) 23:25, July 10, 2016 (UTC)

And now I realize "Field-Commander Rahz" is a thing on the Tips pages. This is tiring, but I'm okay with the status quo for now. --UltimateKuriboh (talkcontribs) 23:28, July 10, 2016 (UTC)

Set template

Hi, GMTails. When creating a set template, there should be a main template and then the sub-templates (by region) that should be redirected to the main one. You created {{Set/AP08/PT}}, while {{Set/AP08}} existed. So it should be redirected there.
There are exceptions, of course (like when different sets share the same prefix); But, usually, try to check for a more generic one and, if there is, redirect the one you are creating to it. If I wasn't very clear, let me know. Becasita Pendulum (talkcontribs) 13:16, August 3, 2016 (UTC)

Tierra

It's "Tierra, Goddess of Rebirth" in "Purusha Shaddoll Aion", not the "Infernoid Tierra", reasons:

  • Infernoid has long hair, Goddess instead has all the fire in the head AND in the body.
  • Infernoid has one black wing and a darker body, Goddess has both wings transparent and a lighter body.
  • About the orbs, they are probably detached (like in "Qliphort Down"), also they're back in "Void Madness".
  • And finally, the storyline. After the battle in "Ultimate Providence", Tierra fused with the Apoqliphorts to form the Goddess to fight and lose to "Tellarknight Vatlamyus". --Missign0 (talkcontribs) 04:12, October 12, 2016 (UTC)

Re-replied. --Missign0 (talkcontribs) 06:07, October 15, 2016 (UTC)

Links to main card page in tips pages.

Hey there. I've noticed that, sometimes, on Card Tips pages, you link to the main card page and input <!-- Keeping it as a link to make it easier to find and rename later -->. Just to let you know that this isn't necessary at all, since {{Navigation}} already links to the main card page (which means a link is already presented there); unless I'm missing something. Becasita Pendulum (talkcontribs) 16:09, February 4, 2017 (UTC)

Hello. I use a link because it allows the Bot to replace it with the official TCG name along with the other articles it appears in. It also becomes listed in Special:WhatLinksHere of the unofficially named article, hence why it is easier to find. But I really have no problem with not doing it, and I can remove the ones I added previously as well. GMTails (talkcontribs) 20:13, February 5, 2017 (UTC)
Oh, right. I don't know what I was thinking... Anyway, it's not a big deal. At least you can omit the comment. Becasita Pendulum (talkcontribs) 22:10, February 5, 2017 (UTC)

Field Spell Searching

I think you confused "Revolving Stage" with "Set Rotation" in your tip pages edits a while back. --Golden Key (talkcontribs) 16:36, June 2, 2017 (UTC)

Recent uploads

What's your reasoning for cutting out parts of the screen. Yes, we want as much of the monsters as possible and nothing else, but not if that means giant white spaces as part of the image files. A straight screencap would be preferred. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 03:12, August 3, 2017 (UTC)

The main reason was the limitation imposed by the camera movement. Since it was panning over the scene diagonally, I preferred to stitch them like this in order to cover the most of it. Stacking them vertically would give results like this. It doesn't look so bad, but it felt like Revolver was pushed too much into the corner, which in my opinion contradicts the image's purpose to show both the character and its Deck.

However, I agree with you on Yusaku's image. A simple vertical stitch looks good, and I'll upload a new version in a few minutes. GMTails (talkcontribs) 01:20, August 4, 2017 (UTC)
