List of modified cards page

I want your permission before I go put this on this page. I already know "Parasite Paracide" belongs in the Alternate Art page since it was completely redrawn, but Fredcat100 removed it for some reason. The Card Artwork page for "Destruct Potion" shows that blue mist coming out of "Dark King of the Abyss" removed, but I want to know where to put that on the page since that is not relevant to religious connotation(It should be on violence, alternate art, or other). Also some of the things on alternate art is not mentioned or doesn't even seem to make sense with why it was redrawn and I want to make sure I have your permission to insert that in before I put it in. Please reply whenever you can. Thank you!Cardsknower (talkcontribs) 23:30, May 3, 2012 (UTC)Cardsknower

Hm, I'm not sure where that would fit. Maybe you add it an a new section just called "Other reasons". Also, don't worry about asking my permission. Just go ahead. If someone has a problem with it, they'll revert and you can talk it over on the talk page. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 00:07, May 4, 2012 (UTC)

Decklists for second series anime episodes.

I hate to bother you right now, but you probably noticed that some of the second series anime episode pages don't have decklists like most of the other episode and manga pages mentioned in this wiki. I was wondering if you could gather some of the other adminstrators here and try to help put decklists for the episodes that don't have decklists. Also most of the cards that are mentioned in the decklists of these pages are just mostly the cards that were played in the duels. I think we should also mention the cards that in the players' hands and other cards that are shown, but not used in duels. Reply whenever you can to this message. Thank you!Cardsknower (talkcontribs) 00:15, May 5, 2012 (UTC)Cardsknower

You're not bothering me, don't worry about that. The DM articles really are in disrepair, in more ways that lack of Featured cards. That's something that's on my eventual to-do list, but it's not very high on it. Yes, any card that appears should be mentioned. So it's not something I'm going to be doing anytime soon. Feel free to work on it yourself, though. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 00:40, May 5, 2012 (UTC)

cathy deck

hey.... im trying to make a cathy deck for dueling network..... can you send me the deck list please?

email: (talk) 02:06, May 5, 2012 (UTC) dn acc: livefortheswarm

I don't have one of those. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 09:12, May 5, 2012 (UTC)

Reply to message

I saw your message, but does that mean I can't input parenthetical notes if the page already mentions featured cards that are not played in a duel because your message is a bit confusing. Could you please tell me if that means I can't input parenthetical notes if it is already mentioned in the page? Thanks! (talk) 21:08, May 5, 2012 (UTC)

Episode 13 decklist

Before I change anything around, I did notice "Seven-Armed Fiend", but it was not in Yami Bakura's hand at all. It was shown in a flashback when Bakura explained how he got the Millennium Ring. Was it ever shown in Yami Bakura's hand? Can you please check before I go change the episode decklist? Thank you!Cardsknower (talkcontribs) 01:40, May 6, 2012 (UTC)Cardsknower

No, it was never in his hand. Just in the flashback. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 02:27, May 6, 2012 (UTC)

Cards shown in briefcase in episode 26

I saw a couple of cards in Kaiba's briefcase that were not mentioned in the decklist. Before I input them in, could you please watch the episode and show me which cards can be visibly shown when Kaiba opens his briefcase? Because I want to make sure whatever I input in is actually right. Thank you!Cardsknower (talkcontribs) 16:44, May 7, 2012 (UTC)Cardsknower

Go ahead and put them in for now. I can't watch any episodes right now, and won't be able to to for a few hours. I'll look through the cards later and correct any that may not be right. You may even be able to identify some that I can't. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 16:46, May 7, 2012 (UTC)
I can see the following: "Gokibore", "Trakodon", "Basic Insect", "Illusionist Faceless Mage", "Mystic Horseman", "Cyber Shield", "Axe Raider" and "Change of Heart". There are several others I can't make out. If you can't make them out either, I would contact WinterNightmare. He's very good at card identification. Tag Force Image

  • Siiiiigh. I uploaded the OCG and TCG versions of Fiend's Hand Mirror, but got the OCG/TCG tags mixed up. So, I renamed the JP one so that I could correct both names, making sure not to leave a redirect... yet, I get this. Can I get some help with it, please?--YamiWheeler (talkcontribs) 17:40, May 10, 2012 (UTC)
Neither do I. This has happened before though. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 18:23, May 10, 2012 (UTC)
Am I seeing things differently? To me, this is empty, and this is the English image, but has the JP tag. --Golden Key (talkcontribs) 18:40, May 10, 2012 (UTC)
  • This is getting ridiculous. I just renamed the EN image and it turned into the JP image. I think both images should be deleted and reuploaded. Jesus christ...--YamiWheeler (talkcontribs) 22:10, May 10, 2012 (UTC)

Decklist for episode 60

Where is Swordsman of Landstar in the briefcase? Is it there because I can't see it in the shot. Also I don't think Koji Nagumo had "Hyozanryu" in his Deck because the only one I saw was in the briefcase full of cards. There is a "Shadow Ghoul" and "Mystic Tomato" visible when Koji is shown arguing with his opponent, but that was also most likely dub only since I was using the dub version of that episode. Can you check to make sure the former two cards I mentioned earlier are in that episode or not, please? Thank you!Cardsknower (talkcontribs) 23:47, May 11, 2012 (UTC)Cardsknower

I can check (much) later today. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 09:20, May 12, 2012 (UTC)
Yeah, the card in each Duelist's hand is not visible in the Japanese version. Its just a generic card layout with no picture. So that makes "Mystic Tomato" and "Shadow Ghoul" dub only. There's a Normal Monster in the bottom-right corner of the briefcase. I don't think its "Swordsman of Landstar" or "Hyozanryu". Not sure what it is. There's also some cards in the top row I can't make out, but I could only find a low-quality version of the episode. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 18:50, May 12, 2012 (UTC)
Okay, but should I keep Swordsman of Landstar and Hyozanryu in the decklists or not because I don't know what to do with it. Also it mentions in Arkana's page that he has three Dark Magicians, but I only know he has two copies, so is there any proof that he has three copies. Please tell me whenever you can. Thank you!Cardsknower (talkcontribs) 23:29, May 14, 2012 (UTC)Cardsknower
If you can't find them, I would say remove them. If someone else spots them, they can always be re-added. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 01:32, May 15, 2012 (UTC)

Forum Respond

"Fiendish Engine Ω" is same as in Manga I just found. Yea, surprise. --iFredCat 18:37, May 14, 2012 (UTC)

Heh, interesting. Ok, fair enough. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 18:37, May 14, 2012 (UTC)
But Goldy missed one part... it was indeed summoned by "Two-for-One Repair Job" via Bandit Kenth, but that was later in that chapter. The monster was actually taken by Joey when he used "Summon Capture", just as you read that... --iFredCat 18:42, May 14, 2012 (UTC)
I did know that, I just didn't mention it since it's irrelevant to the topic at hand. Was the English wording for "Two-for-One Repair Job" written out on the card? Or what was Keith's explanation for how it works? --Golden Key (talkcontribs) 18:50, May 14, 2012 (UTC)
That is also in English Manga, the name. I am sure it's written on the card when he placed it on the disk in the same panel he explained it. --iFredCat 18:57, May 14, 2012 (UTC)
I think he meant what the lore of "Two-for-One Repair Job" says. Does it say "Motor" monster. Or did they just change to say "Fiendish Engine Omega"? Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 01:32, May 15, 2012 (UTC)
In it's "Fiendish Engine Ω" in English Manga, no joke beside. And I am sure it not for "Motor", but work for all Machine-Type Monster... Though it was not clearly enough. The name of all cards are confirmed to be true though. --iFredCat 01:36, May 15, 2012 (UTC)
That forum went further and I got the images to prove the reason. I was part right and part wrong; the lore was indeed printed on the "card" and I am wrong because it's for "Motor", not machine-type. --iFredCat 19:50, May 15, 2012 (UTC)

Are you still there? Take look at this image. The guy who uploaded it should have uploaded a new version of this image not a new image. I've seen few times that a mover or a sysop moved an image to existing image name to gain the same effect as uploading a new version of an existing image. However, when I tried to do that, it didn't work. Could you please try to do it? --  The Goblin  I'm feelin' the flow  19:01, May 14, 2012 (UTC)

Let's try -2 on end of first one you were trying to move. I will show you. --iFredCat 19:05, May 14, 2012 (UTC)
It looks like it was fixed. However, isn't that image from a V-Jump scan and not from ZEXAL?. So it shouldn't be at "Anime-ZX". Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 01:32, May 15, 2012 (UTC)
Ah, I moved it, if you wish to fixing it right... then you're welcome to do it... if it was already fixed. --iFredCat 01:38, May 15, 2012 (UTC)

Decklist of GX episode 170

When Sartorius is shown slipping "Arcana Force 0 - The Fool" into Jaden's Deck, there is a Trap Card among the cards. The episode 170 page states that was "Hero Signal", but I can't determine if that card is "Hero Signal" since the image is too vague. Can you please confirm what that Trap Card is? Thank you!Cardsknower (talkcontribs) 22:29, May 17, 2012 (UTC)Cardsknower

Can't quite tell either, sorry. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 00:01, May 18, 2012 (UTC)
Okay, but if neither of us can tell what it is, should I delete the note that states that "Hero Signal" was shown when Sartorius is shown slipping "The Fool" into Jaden's Deck or not?Cardsknower (talkcontribs) 00:03, May 19, 2012 (UTC)Cardsknower
Someone clearly thought it was "Hero Signal". We can't disprove that, so I'd leave it in for now unless we can identify it as another card. I can't say it is "Hero Signal". I also can't say it isn't. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 00:10, May 19, 2012 (UTC)

Cards shown in GX episode 170

I noticed that "Neo-Spacian Aqua Dolphin" and "Elemental HERO Clayman" were not shown at the part when Jaden is shown searching his Deck. They were actually shown when Jaden was remembering all the cards that had helped him in the past. I think we need to make another note since I didn't see them in the former shot. Please reply whenever you can. Thank you!Cardsknower (talkcontribs) 00:20, May 21, 2012 (UTC)Cardsknower

That's fine. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 00:25, May 21, 2012 (UTC)
I don't know how to make a note here. I was wondering if you or another adminstrator could do it. Please reply when you can. Thank you!Cardsknower (talkcontribs) 16:40, May 21, 2012 (UTC)Cardsknower
Try copying one of the existing notes and just modifying it to suit what the new note needs to say. Try it. If something goes wrong, I'll fix it. :) Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 16:42, May 21, 2012 (UTC)
Just did that, but there is just one more thing that seems odd in episode 170. When "Arcana Force VII - The Chariot" spun and landed upright, it got the tails effect instead of the heads effect. This doesn't seem to make sense as "The Chariot" only gets the tails effect if it lands upside down. I need to know if I should change that or not since that doesn't seem to make sense with the other Arcana Force monsters and "The Chariot" has already made appearances prior to episode 170. Please reply when you can. Thank you!Cardsknower (talkcontribs) 19:49, May 21, 2012 (UTC)Cardsknower
Hmm, I don't know. Either the writers made mistake in the episode or I made a mistake when I wrote the summary for that episode. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 23:38, May 21, 2012 (UTC)
I watched that episode and I think it's a mistake by the writers because the Chariot is shown in the episode landing upright, however the dialect in the episode states it landed upside down and therefore it gets the tails effect. This is what the video I watched stated. You should watch a subbed version of the episode, so that way we can confirm what created the confusion error.Cardsknower (talkcontribs) 00:19, May 22, 2012 (UTC)Cardsknower
Alright, I'll look into it later and maybe add a "Errors" section if that's the case. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 00:21, May 22, 2012 (UTC)
I noticed that edit you made and that is good, but people will still notice the error in the featured duel section and note number 1. Despite what the episode shows people will still be confused somewhat if they see "The Chariot"'s page. Someone will most likely edit to remove the confusion and I think we should probably change what I mentioned here(Featured Duel section and note number 1). Please reply when you can. Thank you!Cardsknower (talkcontribs) 14:47, May 22, 2012 (UTC)Cardsknower
I cannot seem to find a sub for this anywhere and I can't tell by the dialogue what Saiou is saying. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 16:21, May 22, 2012 (UTC)

Arcana Call's anime lore

The rulings of Arcana Call state that the effects of the Arcana Force monster on the field are changed to the banished Arcana Force monster until the End Phase. However in Sartorius and Jaden's second duel, "Arcana Force EX - The Dark Ruler" gained the effects of "Arcana Force 0 - The Fool" instead of having its effects cahanged to "The Fool"'s. I think I need to add an anime lore to this, but I need to make sure if that's okay since this was stated on the rulings that probably are not completely updated. Please reply when you can. Thank you!Cardsknower (talkcontribs) 01:14, May 25, 2012 (UTC)Cardsknower

I know nothing about card rulings, so I can't help you there. But if you think the animelore is different, by all means add it. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 01:31, May 25, 2012 (UTC)

Problem with Crashsnake

I have a problem with this guy. Most of the card appearances pages had been fleshed out by other users(including me), but this guy keeps editing the pages and puts bad grammar in his edits and he has been doing this a lot. He has been ignoring almost all the advice I have been trying to give him. Can you please talk to the guy and try to get him to stop editing the card appearances pages because I am really getting tired of trying to fix all of this guy's bad grammar. Thank you!Cardsknower (talkcontribs) 05:28, May 26, 2012 (UTC)Cardsknower

I've left him a message. I do have to say that I like the idea of using References in place of "in episode/chapter x" though. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 09:22, May 26, 2012 (UTC)

Mirror Gate's new TCG text

Mirror Gate's current TCG effect as of now states that control of the affected monster will switch only if both monsters are on the field. This did not happen in episode 172 of Yu-Gi-Oh! GX as control of Topaz Tiger switched back even though Elemental HERO Burstinatrix had already left the field. PoriotH had already deleted this because he believed there was no proof. The OCG effect makes some sense, but I need to make sure I have your ok before I try to edit that page because the new errata TCG text contradicts how the card is used in the anime. If you don't believe me read the GX episode 172 page and the card ruling page of Mirror Gate. Please reply when you can. Thank you!Cardsknower (talkcontribs) 15:22, May 26, 2012 (UTC)Cardsknower

Uh, I don't see any problems with that. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 18:29, May 26, 2012 (UTC)

Maybe it must be work for Admin or something... But that would revoke since PoirotH was an Admin when came to you. --iFredCat 18:50, May 26, 2012 (UTC)
No, that wouldn't be it. He's been an admin longer than I have. And I highly doubt that's what would have caused it anyway. Again, my only guess is a browser issue. I'm using whatever the hell the latest version of Firefox is and the caption displays a hovertext when you float over the picture. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 22:55, May 26, 2012 (UTC)

Trap in GX episode 004

There is a Trap Card not mentioned in the page. I noticed this in the Japanese version of the episode. All the Traps that are mentioned on Crowler's trenchcoat in the Japanese version of the episode are seen in the episode, but one Trap shown in the episode is not stated. Can you try to see what that card is? Thank you!Cardsknower (talkcontribs) 15:36, May 28, 2012 (UTC)Cardsknower

I will take a look later today at some point. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 16:51, May 28, 2012 (UTC)
I was wondering if you had figured out the mystery Trap that I have been trying to identify at this point. Reply when you can. Thank you!Cardsknower (talkcontribs) 18:48, June 1, 2012 (UTC)Cardsknower
Sorry, I completely forgot to even check. I'll go ahead and do so now. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 21:50, June 1, 2012 (UTC)
I can match every card to something that's listed in the episode 4 article except for two. Of the two, neither looks like "Tragedy" to me either. Can you tell me exactly where the card you are unsure of is? Right or left side? Row? Column? If I can focus just on it, I may be able to come up with something. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 21:59, June 1, 2012 (UTC)
Tragedy is the second top card on the right(It is to the left of "Chain Burst" when Crowler reveals all thirty cards in his trenchcoat). It uses the OCG artwork there which shows a guillotine. In the TCG that was changed due to the OCG artwork being too violent.Cardsknower (talkcontribs) 22:42, June 1, 2012 (UTC)Cardsknower
Ok, so then the unidentified one is to the right of "Special Hurricane". It may be "Life Absorbing Machine", but I can't be positive. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 22:48, June 1, 2012 (UTC)
I checked both versions of the card and it doesn't look like it, since the background card is red and black and the background of "Life Absorbing Machine" has an orange circle on the top left of the card. The card may be "Dark Snake Syndrome" due to the backgrounds being similar, but it is debatable if the figure in the cards are the sameCardsknower (talkcontribs) 23:18, June 1, 2012 (UTC)Cardsknower
How could it be "Dark Snake Syndrome"? We're looking for a Trap Card (I thought). Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 23:20, June 1, 2012 (UTC)
We were and I was probably was being a bit too vague there. I was referring to the colors in the background of the card's artwork. The mysterious Trap does not have the same background of either version of "Life Absorbing Machine"(check the gallery page of that card for proof). "Dark Snake Syndrome" is INDEED a Trap Card. If you don't believe me go to that page and see for yourself. Sorry if I confused a bit.Cardsknower (talkcontribs) 23:28, June 1, 2012 (UTC)Cardsknower
No, you were clear enough. But "Dark Snake Syndrome" is a Spell. You must be thinking of another snake card or something. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 23:32, June 1, 2012 (UTC)
Sorry about that, but then is there any other Trap that has a black and red background? It is most likely a TCG/OCG card that was around at timing episode 4. Perhaps Winternightmare could help us figure out what this card is.Cardsknower (talkcontribs) 23:48, June 1, 2012 (UTC)Cardsknower
I went through a couple cards and I saw that "Des Counterblow" and "Draining Shield" are somewhat similar to the mysterious Trap. Is there any other cards you have seen that look similar to the mysterious Trap?Cardsknower (talkcontribs) 00:50, June 2, 2012 (UTC)Cardsknower

Japanese names on titles

About ZEXAL Rank 18, so, in chapters' or episodes' titles, we keep Japanese names in Japanese? Doesn't that get odd/confusing, keeping the name in Japanese in the title and in English in the summary and Duel? LegenaryAsariUgetsu (talkcontribs) 15:59, May 28, 2012 (UTC)

I suppose it does, but that is what we do. Eventually there will be an official English title for each chapter/episodes, so both names will be listed. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 16:18, May 28, 2012 (UTC)

Number 88

Can you shine some light on this? For "Number 88: Gimmick Puppet - Destiny Leo", it says This card can only be destroyed by battle with another "Number" monster. I'd interpret that as

the only way to destroy it is in battle with a "Number" monster,

rather than,

the only way to destroy it in battle is with a "Number" monster.

I get the feeling the second is what was intended though, in which case I'd have phrased it This card cannot be destroyed by battle, except by a "Number" monster. I'm not sure if there's a more up-to-date Problem-Solving Card Text way of saying that. Do you know which of the effects is the intended one? -- Deltaneos (talk) 19:52, June 4, 2012 (UTC)

Its the latter. "Numbers" can be destroyed by card effects, but only other "Numbers" can destroy them by battle. If there is a better way of saying that, User:UltimateKuriboh will probably be around to change it soon. He usually rewords card effects the same days the articles are updated. The anime effect of Divine Neos and Glow Moss

There is a problem here with these two monsters in Jaden's final duel with Nightshroud. When Jaden banishes all six of his Neo-Spacians, Divine Neos gained 3000 ATK and all the effects of the Neo-Spacians. Divine Neos then attacked and destroyed "Darkness Neosphere" with nothing else occuring during or after the attack. Since this card gained the effect of "Glow Moss", Nightshroud should have drawn a card when Divine Neos attacked, and based on its type the proper effect should have been done(which might have affected the end result of the game or not). Although this might have been skipped due to brevity and dramatic effect, this would probably mean that the anime effect of either "Glow Moss" or Divine Neos" should be changed. The anime effect of "Glow Moss" would probably be optional due to what happened here rather than mandatory like the real card. This is only my assumption however. Please reply when you can. That's a fair point. I never really thought about that. He only really needed to use the effect of "Flare Scarab", so they skipped over the rest. I think the better option would just be to add that something like this "this card can use the effects of all the Fusion Material Monsters to the animelore of "Divine Neos"". Camion, the Timelord

Camion only appears in TF6, a game that was not released in English. The lores we have are fan translations. --Golden Key (talkcontribs) 16:33, June 7, 2012 (UTC)

Oh, really? Ok then, go ahead and revert my edit. I just assumed it was eventually released in English. I never actually checked. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 16:34, June 7, 2012 (UTC)
A lot of people were/are upset we never got that game (myself included), especially with the delay/lack of WC12.
That particular card's translation seems a little weaker than the other members of the archetype. I'll revert, but it probably wouldn't hurt to have someone savvy with the language skim it as well. --Golden Key (talkcontribs) 16:40, June 7, 2012 (UTC)

Could you please rename "D Team ZEXAL logo" to "Yu-Gi-Oh! D Team ZEXAL logo"? So that is appears in the cards' articles. Thanks. LegenaryAsariUgetsu (talkcontribs) 22:53, June 7, 2012 (UTC)

Hey Cheesedude, could you please restore File:Cyber.jpg? The current "Cyber" image isn't as good depiction of the archetype in this case, having only one member and a related monster. --Golden Key (talkcontribs) 03:15, June 8, 2012 (UTC)

Done. I know I can track down a good anime image for it though. Just not right now. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 03:19, June 8, 2012 (UTC)
Thanks, I'm eager to see what you get. --Golden Key (talkcontribs) 03:43, June 8, 2012 (UTC)
Done. Not what I was hoping for, but by no means bad. The image I was thinking of originally I could only find a poor-quality sub for and it was an episode where there was advertising at the top of the screen blocking some of the monsters. I saw you suggesting merging Cyber Style into the article in one of your edit summaries. I'm not sure if that would work or not. What stops me from just going ahead with that is Asuka's Cyber Girls. She was close with Ryo and was never stated to have anything to do with the Cyber-Style dojo. Then there's plenty of other cards that are "Cyber" cards that have nothing to do with "Cyber Style". I warned him. I wouldn't be surprised if its the same guy I suspect has used about twelve different IPs to insert false information with. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 23:29, June 10, 2012 (UTC)

Most of our info about this comes from Neo Ark Cradle. There's a topic about D Team ZEXAL there where users with access to it post info and the occasional image about it. So those images are our proof. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 15:22, June 11, 2012 (UTC)
If you are right then why don't you provide them on the wiki dude?
We do. Anything we have access to is on the wiki already, if I'm not mistaken. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 23:58, June 11, 2012 (UTC)
Then why can't we users see them on the Chapter 003 of D Team Zexal page?? I mean how do we approve of them if they aren't on the page??
Any information we have on that Chapter is in the article already. If there's not much there, its because that's all we know so far. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 21:47, June 13, 2012 (UTC)
Then why don't you take a look on Yuma turn 4?? he sets a monster but on Shark's turn 5 he attacks directly instead of the facedown. There is something wrong and the duel might be unreal.
I'm not sure where you're talking about. I don't see that in Yu-Gi-Oh D Team ZEXAL - Chapter 003. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 16:20, June 14, 2012 (UTC)
nevermind it is re-edited well . It was written that Black ray Lancer attacked directly instead of Number 39: Utopia and he didn't even attack the face-down monster but now it is re-edited to be : Shark attacks Yuma's set monster with "Shocktopus". It is "Gagaga Gardna" (1500/2000); therefore Shark takes damage (Shark 4000 → 3600). Iam sorry to disturb you.

The effect of "Neo-Spacian Dark Panther" in the anime

The Card Rulings page of "Neo-Spacian Dark Panther" states that if you use the effect of "Dark Panther", it is treated as the monster you selected until the End Phase. However Jaden was able to fuse this card with "Elemental HERO Neos" even though he activated this card's effect to treat it as "God of Darkness - Dark God" prior to that(A somewhat similar thing occurred in Jaden's final Duel with Nightshroud). This seems a bit off and I know you don't know about card rulings, but I was wondering if I should put an animelore on the "Dark Panther" page or not. Reply when possible please. Thank you!Cardsknower (talkcontribs) 03:56, June 13, 2012 (UTC)Cardsknower

Hmm, interesting. Yeah, I think changing the anime effect to read "gains this monster's name is still treated as having its own name as well" or something like that would be fine. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 05:57, June 13, 2012 (UTC)

Signature Card

okay, i want to get this clear, how do you determine if a character is worthy for the signature card page because if it is based on how many times the character duels then tristan, arkana, espa roba, ryo bakura, serenity wheeler, the paradox brothers, anubis, mr. stein, prince ojin, taigo sorano, seika kohinata and many other chartacters need to be removed from the list as the don't fit that requirement, but if it based on number of appearances they make in the anime and/or manga then that makes more sence.DalekSupreme13 (talkcontribs) 08:43, June 19, 2012 (UTC)

Sorry for bothering you all the time, you are the most active Admin I think :P. So, do we have any kind of article or listing to the ZEXAL DVD? There are already 3 boxes, each one with 3 disks, and at Neo Ark Cradle we have HQ pics for all. If we don't, then I think we should create one already. I just don't know in what format I should. :P Should I add individual articles for the boxes and a listing for the disks? LegenaryAsariUgetsu (talkcontribs) 22:35, June 15, 2012 (UTC)

No problem. Contact me whenever you need. Hmm, I don't know if we have articles on any of the DVD sets for the other series. If we don't, we definitely should. I'm not really sure how it would be formatted though. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 22:46, June 15, 2012 (UTC)
Maybe we could add a "Yu-Gi-Oh! ZEXAL DVD listing", which 2 sub-lists, Boxes and Disks. On the Boxes list, we could give information like the disks they feature, and on the disks list, the episodes and resolution. LegenaryAsariUgetsu (talkcontribs) 23:00, June 15, 2012 (UTC)

Done. I used "Events" for the category, but there may be a better one. Can you think of any? Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 02:26, June 21, 2012 (UTC)

Re: Masked Doll, etc.

As I said, there are a ton of cards that have improvised effects, so where did you get this consensus from? I can understand Dark Sanctuary, but Masked Doll and Heavenly Demon Chant have an easy-to-predict effect and it should be worded into proper syntax, otherwise it just causes confusion. MadRest 18:11, June 20, 2012 (UTC)

This is a different case. For those cases, you've reworded them using proper syntax. This way, you're rewording them so they don't even have a valid Yu-Gi-Oh! lore. The card says Fuse, so it's assumable it means Fusion Summon. It gets rid of cards from the Graveyard and hand, so it's assumable it banishes them, yet none of this is reflected in the card lore. MadRest 21:18, June 22, 2012 (UTC)

Dark Renewal's effect

"Dark Renewal" says you can only activate this card when your opponent summons a monster, but there is a problem there. Although the first few times it was used. It would have been useless in Yugi's Duel with Jaden. Although the Fusion Components of "Elemental HERO Magma Neos" were summoned, the activation timing would have been too late as Jaden at that point had already declared an attack with "Elemental HERO Shining Flare Wingman". Please reply when you can. Thank you!Cardsknower (talkcontribs) 19:26, June 22, 2012 (UTC)Cardsknower

The Japanese lore does say at the time of a Summon. The images of the DM and GX versions appear identical. Unless it has something to do with the effect of "Code Change" and/or "Mystical Rift Panel", it was an error and should probably be noted as such. The anime contradicts itself sometimes. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 22:40, June 22, 2012 (UTC)
I started thinking about this and possibly the activation timing may have been correct here because in a technical sense the last card activated activates first(this has been shown sometimes in the anime). "Dark Renewal" was activated after "Shining Flare Wingman" attacked, but before that Jaden had used "Contact Out" to defuse "Elemental HERO Magma Neos". So it could be possible that the sequence was first the activation of "Dark Renewal", then the attack of "Shining Flare Wingman", and then finally the effect of "Dark Renewal" being used. I might be somewhat wrong about this, but this is my best guess about the situation for the momentCardsknower (talkcontribs) 23:20, June 22, 2012 (UTC)Cardsknower
Fair enough. Whatever you decide is fine. I don't think there's a way to actually nail this one down. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 23:21, June 22, 2012 (UTC)

I just noticed something. If a card appears in the manga, but the card itself is not shown, just the Solid Vision of the monster, and the effect is explained in a dialogue, is the Japanese lore considered unofficial? LegenaryAsariUgetsu (talkcontribs) 18:14, June 23, 2012 (UTC)

I don't know. I suppose they technically would be. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 18:25, June 23, 2012 (UTC)

Card Decklist shown in episode 31.

I need help with identifying one Spells or two Spells shown when Chazz is rebuilding his Deck(In the original one appeared to be "Chaos End" and the other is unknown. In the dub there is a Spell that I can't identify and it appeared to replace "Chaos End".). Can you please check both versions and tell me what you think the cards are? Thank you!Cardsknower (talkcontribs) 00:37, June 27, 2012 (UTC)Cardsknower

In the Japanese version, the only Spell Cards I see are "Level Up!" and "Inferno Tempest". There is one more, but the picture isn't visible and barely any of the Japanese name is either. In the dub, I can see both of the aforementioned Spell Cards and the one I can't make out appears to have been changed to "Arsenal Summoner". I don't see "Chaos End" in either version. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 02:55, June 27, 2012 (UTC)
Checked. One unknown Spell was changed to "Dedication through Light and Darkness". "Armed Dragon LV3" was changed to "The Tricky"(due to the blue cape being somewhat visible). Another unknown Spell was changed to what appears to be something with a white-silver background on the top and some white mist on the bottom. It is not "Arsenal Summoner" as I checked the artwork for that.Cardsknower (talkcontribs) 04:32, June 27, 2012 (UTC)Cardsknower
Ok. It looks another user figured out the other card too. And that makes sense, given that "KA-2 Des Scissors" was another shown card. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 05:18, June 27, 2012 (UTC)
I read the user who you left a message for and it appears that this user believes the card behind "Armed Dragon LV3" in the Japanese version is "Chaos End" since the first katakana in that card matches the first one on "Chaos End". Another card I have trouble believing is "Armed Changer". Someone put that down and I think that person assumed that was the Spell under "Level Up!". The artwork however is not similar to the artwork of "Armed Changer", so I think that is why it was deleted.Cardsknower (talkcontribs) 23:43, June 27, 2012 (UTC)Cardsknower
I'm going to try to find a HQ version of the episode to check. User:ZingerZhang thinks the card is "Limiter Removal". I'll see if I can figure out which is correct. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 00:09, June 28, 2012 (UTC)
Ok, on further inspection, ZingerZhang thought that the card under "Level Up!" was "Limiter Removal", which does look right to me. As for the other card, there is simply not enough of the card shown to make anything certain, so I think we should just leave it alone and not list it at all. OK then, thanks for moving them. By the way, I'm trying to do this since a while, but I'm with not free time enough, so I guess I'll be only able to create manga articles for Astral, Kotori, Faker and Haruto this weekend. Do you think Tetsuo, Todoroki and Tokunosuke need manga articles as well? If you don't know, Testuo's role in the manga is the same as the anime in episodes 1 and 2, and after that he appears all the chapters but does nothing relevant. Same for Tokunosuke, whose relevant role is the same as the anime in episodes 5 and 6. As for Todoroki, in the manga he simply does nothing, despite appearing all the chapters as well. Oh, and about Mirai, she has a really small minor role in the manga, but different from the anime. So I guess I'll only create a Manga Biography item in her anime article.LegenaryAsariUgetsu (talkcontribs) 00:43, June 28, 2012 (UTC)

Card shown in flashback in episode 41

In episode 41 of GX, one of the cards mentioned to be in flashback are "Iron Blacksmith Kotetsu". However that card appears to be "Inferno Hammer" since the artwork has the same axe that "Inferno Hammer" holds in the upper right part of the artwork. Is there any proof that card is "Iron Blacksmith Kotetsu"? Also I put in episode 4 of GX that the unknown Trap was "Des Counterblow" because it looked somewhat similar to the artwork of "Des Counterblow" although that was my best guess at that moment.Cardsknower (talkcontribs) 23:48, June 27, 2012 (UTC)Cardsknower

I have tried to verify those before and failed. The shot is simply too far away and/or blurry for me to make out. What what its worth, User:WinterNightmare seems to think its "Kotetsu" and I would trust his identifications above pretty much anyone else's, myself included. Doesn't mean it couldn't be "Inferno Hammer" though (incidentally, that card used be listed in Atticus' Decklist for no reason I can figure out. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 00:09, June 28, 2012 (UTC)

Manga Articles

May I ask few things about adding manga information here?

  • 1: In Haruto's case, for example. In the anime, he is Hart. In the manga, he is Haruto. Then, in his anime article, I added his manga biography, linking to the main page. BUT, at the anime article, manga biography, should I write Hart or Haruto?
  • 2: The Astral World is not a character, but has a big role in both the anime and manga, and guess what. They are different roles. So, what should I do? Add an "Astral World (manga)"? Or put in the anime article a manga biography or something like that? LegenaryAsariUgetsu (talkcontribs) 19:54, June 28, 2012 (UTC)
    • If it's a manga section, use "Haruto", regardless of what article its in.
    • The Astral World article is short right now, so I would just add a manga section to the existing article. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 23:15, June 28, 2012 (UTC)

Fusion Monsters in virtual world arc

When Duke, Tristan, and Serenity duel against Nezbitt, "Perfect Machine King" and "St. Joan" were able to attack on the turn they were summoned even though the Battle City Rules do not allow so. I assumed they were able to do so thanks to "Recycling Plant" and the Deck Master Ability of "Goddess with the Third Eye" respectively, but you said the gameplay contradicts itself. However the animelore of "Dark Flare Knight" currently states it could attack on the turn it's summoned due to what happened in Yugi and Joey's Duel with the Big 5. Should I alter the lore and Deck Master Ability of "Recycling Plant" and "Goddess with the Third Eye" respectively or not?Cardsknower (talkcontribs) 15:36, July 1, 2012 (UTC)Cardsknower

It does seem that BC rules apply, since Kaiba later played "Quick Attack" against Noah to attack with "Twin-Headed Thunder Dragon". I believe it being able to attack was part of the Deck Master ability for "Goddess with the Third Eye". But there's no way that "Recycling Plant" says that in addition to the rest of the effect, there's not enough room on the card. My best guess is that Fusions that involve Deck Masters aren't subject to that rule. In all three of those cases, the fusion involved a Deck Master. In Kaiba's case, it didn't. One way to tell would be get a screenshot of "Dark Flare Knight" or one of the other fusions, but I don't know that they were even shown as cards. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 23:36, July 1, 2012 (UTC)
Altered the Deck Master Ability of "Goddess with the Third Eye" and I somewhat altered the animelore of "Perfect Machine King" a bit. There is a problem with the Deck Master Ability of "Blue-Eyes White Dragon". It states any Fusion Monsters you control can attack during your turn, regardless of rules and effects. However "Blue-Eyes" gets removed from the field to be replaced with "Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon" who becomes the new Deck Master. I think the Deck Master Ability of "Blue-Eyes" should say that a Fusion Monster that uses "Blue-Eyes" as a Fusion Material Monster can attack during your turn, ignoring rules and effects since that would make it more logical because the Deck Master Ability of the previous Deck Master would be no more since that monster is no longer your Deck Master.Cardsknower (talkcontribs) 00:33, July 2, 2012 (UTC)Cardsknower

D Team ZEXAL names

As the English manga uses the Japanese names, should we use the Japanese names for D Team ZEXAL as well? LegenaryAsariUgetsu (talkcontribs) 21:19, July 1, 2012 (UTC)

For now, I'd say yes, since there's not even a hint of an English release for D Team. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 23:36, July 1, 2012 (UTC)

Catapult Turtle

I read what you said about "Shrink" and I am okay with that, but I need to make sure the TCG/OCG effect of "Catapult Turtle" was used in seasons 3 and 4. In a technical sense, if the cost for the effect of "Catapult Turtle" was part of the effect, then the activation timing of "Shrink" would be somewhat correct since "Dark Magician Girl" would not have left the field yet as that would mean Rafael's Spell would be interrupting the effect of "Catapult Turtle" before it continued. Was what happened in that duel due to one of the cards having a slightly different effect or was it due to a ruling in the second series anime?Cardsknower (talkcontribs) 23:44, July 2, 2012 (UTC)Cardsknower

It was just due to the anime not exactly following real-game rules. From a logical (not gameplay) standpoint, the move makes sense. Its card rulings that prevent someone from using the card that way. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 23:46, July 2, 2012 (UTC)
I don't seem to understand what you mean. Can you explain this in shorter terms, please? Thank you!Cardsknower (talkcontribs) 23:52, July 2, 2012 (UTC)Cardsknower
I'm saying that the depiction of that card's effect makes perfect sense. It's just still wrong as far as the real game goes. The anime more or less missed the timing for the effect, yes? Even that late in DM, missing the timing wasn't a thing that existed in the anime world. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 23:53, July 2, 2012 (UTC)
So that means "Catapult Turtle" does use its TCG/OCG effect for season 4 and that was just simply due to the anime not using missing the timing a lot in their duels.Cardsknower (talkcontribs) 23:58, July 2, 2012 (UTC)Cardsknower
Right, exactly. Sorry for the confusion. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 00:03, July 3, 2012 (UTC)

Would you mind protectiong "Card Trivia:Duos" and "Card Trivia:Number 39: Utopia"? I'm asking this because someone claims that both cards relate to each other, which makes absolutely no sense. --Yes, it's PSYCHID! He talks! He does stuff! 15:31, July 3, 2012 (UTC)

It looks to me that only one user is adding that information. I would suggest hashing it out with him on his talk page first. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 00:34, July 4, 2012 (UTC)

Could you please help me organizing the manga pages concerning the files? :P Kaito Tenjo (manga) and Cathy (manga), for example, look very ugly with the files like that, and they make the text become all together, but I dunno how to make them look better. Thanks. LegenaryAsariUgetsu (talkcontribs) 22:41, July 3, 2012 (UTC)

Sure, I'll take a look in a little bit. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 00:34, July 4, 2012 (UTC)
Ok, I've gone through them and fixed what I can. Some general tips:
  • Images usually look better if the direction is alternated. The infobox image is automatically right-aligned, so the next image should be left-aligned, then the next right, etc. Yes, this is annoying since you have to switch everything again if a new image is added, but it's one of the best things you can do to improve how the images look in the article.
  • There are very few cases when {{-}} needs to be used. You can see a more detailed explanation here.
  • In some cases, playing around with where you place the image helps. Depending on the size of the image, you could move it up or down a paragraph and it would still appear next to the paragraph that it relates to. You can also insert the image code directly into the middle of a paragraph. I don't like to that, as it makes editing it a bit harder, but sometimes it can drastically improve things.
  • Large vertical images like the one that was in Cathy's article just don't work as far as I can see. I don't know of a way to retain that image and make the article look good too.
  • I've added "<div>" code to several articles. This is needed for the Monobook skin. If it's not there and the image would appear on the right before the infobox ends, it will appear below the infobox instead. This makes it "float" next to the infobox (Wikia skin does this automatically - one of the few things I like about it). Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 02:17, July 4, 2012 (UTC)
Thanks a lot. ^^ LegenaryAsariUgetsu (talkcontribs) 16:53, July 4, 2012 (UTC)

White Knight Swordsman

Chazz used "Cemetery Change" to destroy all monsters out and swap both players' Graveyards. There is a problem here. When "White Knight Lord" was brought back via "Infernal Transaction", its ATK remained the same even though "White Knight Swordsman" is still in the Graveyard that was originally Chazz's. However that wouldn't have probably mattered since "White Knight Lord" did not inflict any Battle Damage to Chazz(just effect damage) after it was summoned on Jaden's side of the field. It probably did gain the boost from Swordsman but it was probably not shown due to the effect it would not have changed the outcome of the entire duel unless something affected its ATKCardsknower (talkcontribs) 00:08, July 4, 2012 (UTC)Cardsknower

Yeah, I would chalk that up to an oversight on the writer's part (which could have been avoided if the hadn't use such BS card effects like "Cemetery Change"). Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 00:34, July 4, 2012 (UTC)

RE:NC images

But in some cases, the card and the NC appear together, one in front of other, like here. In those cases, its impossible to separate them and show both totally. Then, what should be done? LegenaryAsariUgetsu (talkcontribs) 17:32, July 4, 2012 (UTC)

ABYR images

I found some images for ABYR from a commercial, don't know if you think them interesting to add here, but I don't feel like adding all them, and I either know the card naming for OCG/TCG. :P If you'd like to add them, here you go. LegenaryAsariUgetsu (talkcontribs) 18:27, July 4, 2012 (UTC)

I don't know if we need them or not. I'd contact Blackwings or Falzar about it. Truthfully, I don't know OCG/TCG card naming either, I'd have to look it up. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 18:30, July 4, 2012 (UTC)
We've already added them all to their respective articles days ago. You didn't need to upload the group shot to the site. >_> --Golden Key (talkcontribs) 18:32, July 4, 2012 (UTC)
I added it because there is an image like that (with ridiculous quality) in Card Gallery:Gogogo Giant, Card Gallery:Gagaga Girl and Card Gallery:Blade Armor Ninja. LegenaryAsariUgetsu (talkcontribs) 19:40, July 4, 2012 (UTC)

Umi and Alligator's Sword Dragon

Mako setted a monster face-down according to the page that was on, but "Alligator's Sword Dragon" was able to attack Mako directly through its own effect even though his monster was not face-up. Mako's Field Spell was probably hiding the monster, but I think we should alter Battle City Rules and/or the Alligator's Sword Dragon page because one of these must explain how this could happen. Do you have a logical explanation on what occurred in this duel.Cardsknower (talkcontribs) 01:41, July 5, 2012 (UTC)Cardsknower

It seemed to me that the hidden monsters were not valid attack targets. Its similiar to when Yusei attacked Roman directly since "Uru" couldn't be targeted. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 01:45, July 5, 2012 (UTC)
That may be, but Uru's animelore states that the opponent can attack you directly if that card is the only monster you control. I think I may have to create an animelore for the "Alligator's Sword Dragon" page, so it would work on this. When "Umi" was around Mako was able to hide his monsters. After Joey got rid of "Umi", "The Legendary Fisherman" was revealed in Attack Position, suggesting that the Battle City Rules give rules on certain Field Spells that allow you to give you an advantage.Cardsknower (talkcontribs) 01:51, July 5, 2012 (UTC)Cardsknower

i think we need to do a overhaul of the pages having to do with monster characters. it seems wrong to me to treat video game characters and anime characters as the same characters if they are not especially if the anime character has transformations because the way it is set up now, each transformation is being treated as a seperate character instead of the same character in that anime/manga. I think we need to seperate the anime/manga versions from the video game versions if they are different characters.DalekSupreme13 (talkcontribs) 11:08, July 6, 2012 (UTC)

In cases where a monster has multiple forms that are the same character, we can always merge those together into one article. Creating articles specifically for the video game versions seems superfluous to me. Even if all the video game info is recorded, it's still not going to be a particularly long article. Yeah, I noticed it. Every new page I check have one or two more things that need to be done. That's even creepy xD. Thanks for the help.
Oh, by the way, got a question. You know we have more latest chapters in Chinese that in Japanese, right? So, to exactly what extend I can add images from Chinese scanlated chapters? Is the only "rule" to remove all the non-official text? If the image has as well the mark of the scanlator group, for example, I can't add it, right? But I can add if they removed the Japanese text and re-drawn the removed part to add the Chinese text, if I don't show the Chinese one, right? Oh, and by the way again xD. Can I add a full page of a chapter if its to show some action, part by part, like I did one or two times in Astral (manga) and previously on Kaito (the image showing Kaito seeing Haruto's situation)? GX episode 114

That page mentions "Newdoria" and "Flint Cragger" appeared in a flashback, but I can't find them in any flashback. I saw "Skull Knight" being destroyed by "Scab Scar-Knight" during the flashbacks. In addition, there was another unknown monster that "Scab Scar-Knight", but I could not identify it as the scene was too brief. Was "Newdoria" and "Flint Cragger" in this episode's flashbacks or not?Cardsknower (talkcontribs) 23:40, July 8, 2012 (UTC)Cardsknower

"Flint Cragger" was used by Jim near the start of the episode, it wasn't in a flashback. I'm almost positive "Newdoria" was in one of the flashbacks though. I'll check later today. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 14:12, July 9, 2012 (UTC)

Chat Ban

Hey, I apologize if I'm asking the wrong person about this, but I need some enlightenment on a recent chat issue. A little while ago, me and a few fellow users from the Dragon Ball Wikia decided to visit this wiki's chat. However, the only chat moderator on at the time (NexusShiker) somehow came under the impression that we had malicious intent there. Even though we were not breaking any apparent rules, we were all eventually banned by this user. I find this highly unfair, could you shed some light on our dilemma? --NobleTrigon 01:24, July 9, 2012 (UTC)

I don't go on the chat very often, so no, I'm not really the right person to ask about this. My recommendation would be take it up with Nexus first. If that doesn't work, try contacting Deltaneos. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 14:12, July 9, 2012 (UTC)

GX Episode 115 flashback decklist

"Negate Attack" and "Jerry Beans Man" are understandable in the flashback list. I also seemed to notice "Metamorphosis" within the many cards there. The remaining cards in the decklist however could not be found, so I assume they are dub only cards. Can you check to make sure which cards are in the Japanese version and which ones are in the English version?Cardsknower (talkcontribs) 23:19, July 10, 2012 (UTC)Cardsknower

Not necessarily. There are cards there, I just don't know what they are. An IP added the rest of the listed cards and those edits are his only contributions. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 04:02, July 11, 2012 (UTC)

gx episode 117 page

I now have a problem with GX episode 117. The episode 117 page has other decklist and that one has cards from Jaden's Duel with Mr. Stein. I think those should be in the flashback page since the only other card that was not involved in duel or flashback was "Short Circuit" which Adrian was using to take out the security systems.Cardsknower (talkcontribs) 04:43, July 11, 2012 (UTC)Cardsknower

Those cards aren't from flashbacks. They were from when the group comes accross where Jaden Dueled Stein and saw his cards on the ground. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 04:52, July 11, 2012 (UTC)

Thanks for adding that one earlier. Apparently we haven't been very accommodating to our Dutch friends, though: We need Dutch name and anime lore parameters. the anime effect of chaos neos

The anime effect of Chaos Neos states it negates the effects of all of your opponent's face-up monsters for one turn, however when Chaos Neos destroys Uria, Marcel took 2500 damage instead of 3500. This made it look like only Hamon's effect was negated instead of all of Marcel's monsters. Was this due to an oversight on the writers' part? I don't think it would have changed anything since "Prism Wall" would have still taken out the remainder of his Life Points as well as Jesse's.Cardsknower (talkcontribs) 01:16, July 14, 2012 (UTC)Cardsknower

Yeah, probably just an oversight. Might be worth a note on the episode page. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 01:23, July 14, 2012 (UTC)
That note was placed there by someone else. Does the anime effect of "Chaos Neos" negate only one monster your opponent has or all of them for one turn? I need to know so that this confusion would be cleared up.Cardsknower (talkcontribs) 03:24, July 14, 2012 (UTC)Cardsknower
If it wasn't ever shown to affect more than one monster, then yes, change it to one. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 09:03, July 14, 2012 (UTC)
Both versions appear to have Jaden say that it affects all monsters for one turn(I think according to the subtitles), but both versions clearly show only Hamon having its effects negated that turn since Marcel took 2500 damage instead of 3500.Cardsknower (talkcontribs) 23:15, July 14, 2012 (UTC)Cardsknower
Probably just a math mistake on the writer's part, then. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 23:59, July 14, 2012 (UTC)

Toon Roll-Back

I happened to land on Toon Roll-Back's page by chance, and I couldn't help but notice something: the effect given doesn't match the actual card text. At all.

This is what it actually says:

Activate when a Toon Monster's attack is negated by an opponent's Trap. This turn, you can conduct your Battle Phase again.

...Which I'll admit appears to be at least in part a "silly anime effect." I say "negate," which is 無効, but what it actually says is 終了, "end". And yes, Alister/Amelda plays it in response to Kaiba's "Negate Attack," which uses both ("Negate the attack and end the Battle Phase.")

So yeah. Wasn't sure what to do here. I take it if I see card text that's egregiously wrong like this, I have carte blanche to fix it, right? (Worse yet, there's an Italian translation based on the incorrect English effect...)--Ryusui (talkcontribs) 21:42, July 14, 2012 (UTC)

Interesting (I say that a lot, don't I?) Yeah, go ahead and fix it, by all means. I recall the dubbed version of that episode. Alister specifically mentioning that his monsters couldn't attack again, which was used as the rationale for why he brought out Toon DMG by Tributing Toon BEWD. I don't know what the Japanese version said. But there have been cases where all of a card's effect is simply not written on the card. And not only in the old series. It happened about a month back in ZEXAL with "Bubble Bringer". For now I'd just remove that part altogether. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 22:51, July 14, 2012 (UTC)

GX Episode 147

In the notes section, 1exodiafani made a note about the effect of "Advanced Crystal Beast Ruby Carbuncle" and how the effect of "Crystal Beast Ruby Carbuncle" is used in the real game even though the Advanced Crystal Beasts are anime only cards. They are technically not the same, so I don't understand why there is a note there. I removed it, but FredCat100 undid that because he claimed it was like a normal Crystal Beast monster. The Advanced Ruby Carbuncle page clearly shows its lore as how it works in the anime(it isn't a real card). Can you help fix this confusion mess?Cardsknower (talkcontribs) 02:46, July 15, 2012 (UTC)Cardsknower

Yeah, remove that note. You're right. The lore of the Advanced Crystal Beasts is not the same. I'll talk to Fred if it's an issue (though I think he has my talk page on his watchlist, so he'll probably see this). Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 02:49, July 15, 2012 (UTC)

"Fossil Dyna Pachycephalo" is shown with 1300 ATK in the original due to an error created in the previous episode. This creates some confusion as this should have changed the outcome of the Duel. Should we make a error section in that page about this or no since this creates some confusion?Cardsknower (talkcontribs) 02:55, July 15, 2012 (UTC)Cardsknower

The writer was fixing that kind of error to prevent Hadou Judai from losing the duel - till his final duel as being tyrant. Just read the note for further reasons. --iFredCat 04:05, July 15, 2012 (UTC)
I think it' explained well enough in the note. You could put the contents of the note in an error section and link to that from the Featured Duel if you want. I don't think it matters where it is as long as its there. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 14:13, July 15, 2012 (UTC)

Crystal Counter

It was mentioned in episode 148 page that Crystal Counter can't put five Crystal Beasts in the Spell & Trap Zone if it is the only Spell/Trap you have out because this card hadn't fully resolved yet, but the Yubel-possessed Jesse was able to do that in episode 148(this would be impossible unless "Crystal Counter" is destroyed by a card such as "Mystical Space Typhoon" when it is activated). I think this was due to rulings that apply only to the anime. Perhaps Spells and Traps in the anime that are not Equips Cards or Continuous Cards are sent to the Graveyard immediately after their effects activate and after the costs have been met. If so, that would make more sense on how this process could be done.Cardsknower (talkcontribs) 00:01, July 16, 2012 (UTC)Cardsknower

Eh, I'm not sure I buy that. The hologram card usually stays face-up until the effect resolves. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 00:06, July 16, 2012 (UTC)
Well according to the duel featured, the Yubel-possessed Jesse placed five Crystal Beasts in his Spell & Trap Card Zone via "Crystal Counter". Two questions

So, got two things to ask, but well, I'm gonna ask both in the same section, whatever.

First, a question just moved by curiosity. Do you have any acknowledge about Japanese? 'Cuz I noticed you were also editing things about ZEXAL 64 when it was just released, including adding articles for the cards with the Japanese names in.
Second, well, it's not exactly a question. I don't know, I think I'm needing some general help in the manga. Like, not finding information or translating, but putting everything here. :P I have some free time to get info, translate, and add here overall, but not enough to, for example, add it in every character's biography, and in other pages. I also was never much confident about my summaries... So I wonder if there is anyone who can help me, like, just reviewing the texts, taking the information I add in the chapters' articles and add them in the characters' biographies as well, things like that. There's also, for example, the D1GP page, which has its history incomplete, but everything is on the chapters' articles, one just would need to look there and add here. I recently completed the summaries of Ranks 8, 9, 10 and 11, but didn't update anything in the characters' pages, except for a small thing in Mr. Heartland's and in the Theme Park's; but there are some important additional information on those, specially Astral, who had much of his personality revealed in Rank 9 and 11. Also, before them, as I never had much time, I used to just copy from the chapters' articles and paste in the characters' biographies, but I don't think it gets good like that, so... :P Oh, this became a big paragraph xD. I create the anime card articles each week based on the list NeoArkadia posts in the episode topics at Neo Ark Cradle (assuming someone else doesn't beat me too it, of course). I have what I would call cursory knowledge of phonetic Japanese, mostly just from editing here. I cannot tell one Japanese character from the next though. Any translation corrections I do are either from a translator (either Ark or Ryusui) or from Google translate (not directly, of course. But it usually spits out something passable that I can then change to be worded better and it lets me detect effects that we have documented that are just plain wrong).
I can look some of that stuff over at one point or another. I really do need to catch up on the mangas, so when I do, I can go through and add some more things. If you need more help, I believe that TheScarecrow14 follows the manga, he occasionally posts in those topics at Neo Ark Cradle (he's Gimmick there). Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 00:59, July 18, 2012 (UTC)
Oh, I see. A small tip to you, which I noticed you mistook in the last cards, about phonetic. When there is a double vowel, like, for example, カー, which is Kaa (the ー in kana always doubles the previous vowel, but be careful not to mistake it with a normal -), you should write Kā instead; same goes for "ou", which you write ō. I don't remember well if there are any exceptions, but even if there are, for like 90% of the cases, you do like that.
Wait, Gimmick is Scarecrow? o.O I had no idea! I really find him often at NAC. Yeah, I guess I'm gonna talk to him as well. By the way, if you wanna catch up on the manga, for ZEXAL, besides Ranks 2, 3, 4 and 6, everything is already completely complete 8D. *proud* The most important things about Ranks 2, 3 and 4 I wrote down there, and for Rank 6, the only important thing besides the Duel is Tokunosuke's past, which I added in his article (manga section) with Spectertv's help. If you would like to catch up reading the articles, you could also review them at the same time. ;D Although if you rather read the chapters, at NAC currently Ranks 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 are not available in English. :P LegenaryAsariUgetsu (talkcontribs) 02:21, July 18, 2012 (UTC)
Yeah, I know that. The thing is, I don't actually know how to type those characters. When I add the romaji, I copy those characters from other card articles that have them already, if I can think of one off the top of my head that would have that.
I just realized it the other day. He happened to mention editing the wiki in one of the ZEXAL threads and I checked the history of that wiki article and found Scarecrow's name. I asked him, he confirmed it. And ok, that helps quite a bit. It's good to know what I should focus on. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 02:31, July 18, 2012 (UTC)
Oh, I see. If you take it from other card articles, then you could bookmark one which have each case to make it easier, and so that you don't need to remember them. LegenaryAsariUgetsu (talkcontribs) 02:48, July 18, 2012 (UTC)
You use Monobook, right, Cheesedude? There's a box underneath the Save/Preview/Show changes buttons that contains a bunch of links; clicking one of these inserts the appropriate text at the cursor's location in the edit box. Among these are various Unicode characters, including the appropriate vowels with macrons.
On the Wikia skin, this box can be accessed by clicking the "more +" button in the toolbar; it otherwise works identically to Monobook. ディノ千?!? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 21:48, July 18, 2012 (UTC)
*headdesk* I've noticed that box before. I have never taken a close enough look at it to notice that those characters were there. My lack of observational skills knows no bounds. Thanks (and yes, I use Monobook). Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 00:06, July 19, 2012 (UTC)

New Number

Alright - thank you for the confirming, however the episodes he was introducing in seemed little off in the grammar part. Also of that user who created the article also trolled with "Blissfulness" summary in the other article. Comment here to respond me back. --iFredCat 19:01, July 18, 2012 (UTC)

Eh, the grammar in the previews isn't always wonderful. It's not always consistent who translates them. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 00:06, July 19, 2012 (UTC)
Oh right - those "translators" suck balls quite bad. And you should at least respect your desk, I am sure it's slowly bending down each time you headbutt it. --iFredCat 00:36, July 19, 2012 (UTC)
Its not necessarily their fault. There are several people who sometimes translate previews at NAC, and at least two of them have English as their second language. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 00:39, July 19, 2012 (UTC)
So I am now monkey instead of being puss, oh get out of the icebox already. --iFredCat 00:40, July 19, 2012 (UTC)

Unknown card in flashback in 5d's episode 002

On the table in the flashback there were two monsters on the table. One was "Junk Warrior" and the other was monster I could not identify. Can you please help me identify that monster. All I know about this monster is that it appears to be an Effect Monster.Cardsknower (talkcontribs) 23:28, July 19, 2012 (UTC)Cardsknower

When in the episode was this flashback? Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 23:40, July 19, 2012 (UTC)
It was right after the scene showing Yusei and his friends watching a Turbo Duel from Yusei's Duel Runner. It is shown on a table that had two Duel Disks and a bunch of cards. I was able to identify the white card as "Junk Warrior"Cardsknower (talkcontribs) 23:58, July 19, 2012 (UTC)Cardsknower
It's very blurry. What little I can make out looks like "Chiron the Mage" to me. But that would be odd, since Yusei never played that. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 00:07, July 20, 2012 (UTC)
I rewatched the episode a bit (in both versions). The dub version showed "Montage Dragon" and the original version showed what looks vaguely like the anime version of "Montage Dragon". I could be wrong, but that is as accurate as I can be right now. I think the 5D's Decklists need to be updated since not all of them show all known featured cards in their Decklists.Cardsknower (talkcontribs) 00:59, July 20, 2012 (UTC)Cardsknower
Yeah, no one has gotten around to finishing the Featured cards for 5D's. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 01:02, July 20, 2012 (UTC)

About two monsters

Neither "Chainsaw Insect" and "Doom Dozer" appear to have their TCG/OCG effects somewhat in the anime. "Junk Warrior" destroyed "Chainsaw Insect" in battle, but the latter's effect didn't activate. The effect of "Doom Dozer" didn't activate after it attacked Yusei directly(which probably might have changed the whole outcome of the Duel). The effect of "Chainsaw Insect" would not matter with the outcome of the Duel.Cardsknower (talkcontribs) 01:34, July 20, 2012 (UTC)Cardsknower

Yeah, I think adding animelores to those articles is fine. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 02:15, July 20, 2012 (UTC)
I am against the part of "Chainsaw Insect" - it was not successful both of the times it was "attacking" - Attack has been negating at first time it tried to hit "Shield Warrior", thanks to Yusei's trap card. The second time it got attacked was at the end of the duel, which in the result of Yusei's opponent's loss - which won't happening. "Doom Dozer" can going and adding but I am not agreeing with "Chainsaw Insect" part. --iFredCat 02:18, July 20, 2012 (UTC)
Fair point, Fred. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 02:30, July 20, 2012 (UTC)

The effect of Nitro Synchron

Nitro Synchron's effect didn't activate in episode 3 or episode 13 even though in both instances it was used for the Synchro Summoning of "Nitro Warrior". The effect of "Nitro Synchron" did activate in episode 17 and episode 28. It would not have changed the outcome of the Duels in episode 3 or episode 13 as Yusei already had the necessaries to win the Duel.Cardsknower (talkcontribs) 23:24, July 20, 2012 (UTC)Cardsknower

They often don't show something if it wouldn't have affected the outcome. There's also a possibility that they added that effect to "Nitro Synchron" in episode 17 and it quite simply didn't have that effect prior. There's no real way to tell, so I would leave it as is. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 23:42, July 20, 2012 (UTC)

How is the second series anime's template? :P To add here. By the way, should I link this special DVD in any other page? LegenaryAsariUgetsu (talkcontribs) 01:44, July 21, 2012 (UTC)

A mention of it on each of the opening/ending theme pages that are included in it would be good. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 09:09, July 21, 2012 (UTC)

A question about grammar, to use on summaries. So, for example, Shark says to Yuma "You are afraid, aren't you?!". He knows Yuma is afraid, but technically, he asked that, to confirm it or to expose it. In that case, how do I write it in the summary? "Shark asks Yuma if he is afraid"? I guess "Shark tells Yuma that Yuma is afraid" is an odd sentence. xD Is there another specific word for that? 'Cuz this kind of situation happens a lot in the series, and I never knew well how to write it down in the summaries. :P LegenaryAsariUgetsu (talkcontribs) 03:25, July 21, 2012 (UTC)

I would just go with "Shark asks Yuma if he is afraid". Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 09:09, July 21, 2012 (UTC)

Can you please help me update the 5D's Episode Decklists(not all featured cards are shown in the Decklists and some pages don't have Decklists despite cards appearing in that episode)? Episodes 1-3 of 5D's

I went through the Decklists and I tried to make sure I didn't miss any cards(I used the cards that were featured in Duels first and then I go to cards that were shown elsewhere in the episode). Can you please check whenever you can episodes 1-3 in Japanese to make sure that the Decklists are not missing any cards? I will be getting to work on episode 4 when I have time.Cardsknower (talkcontribs) 17:08, July 21, 2012 (UTC)Cardsknower

Deltaneos made card galleries for most of the episodes in the first two arcs, which are linked from the infobox of each article. You can always check those to see if you missed any cards that he picked up on. I'd rather not re-watch the first three episodes just to check for cards, but I will check some online summaries and see if we've missed anything. Forest archetype

The order of the name is very important. That manga chapter has already been released internationally, and I'm not sure if those are their English names. That's why the original names are in the trans parameter. MadRest 17:14, July 21, 2012 (UTC)

Can I ask how the order of the name is important? "Bon, Swordsman of the Forest" and "Forest Swordsman Bon" literally mean the same thing. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 18:28, July 21, 2012 (UTC)
Actually, the chapter wasn't released internationally. Volume 3 only will be released in English in October. Until then, the order of the names is irrelevant. LegenaryAsariUgetsu (talkcontribs) 18:51, July 21, 2012 (UTC)

I like to keep the original name intact as possible. That's why. I saw something on the page saying it was in August, but I guess it was something else. MadRest 18:57, July 21, 2012 (UTC)

But there's nothing to be kept intact here. The names in this case can be translated in any order and have no impact on the meaning; to reuse Cheesedude's above example, "Bon, Swordsman of the Forest" and "Forest Swordsman Bon" are both 100% correct translations, with the preferred one ultimately boiling down to nothing but personal preference.
More generally, you seem to be operating under the assumption that a translation is not correct unless it is translated as literally as possible. Not only is this patently false, it's also an impossible-to-achieve ideal, since very few (I'd wager virtually no) language pairs have perfect, one-to-one correspondence in word definitions, connotations, and usages - and the English/Japanese pairing is particularly unmatched, meaning that the same phrase can be translated 100% literally by two different translators, and the translations can end up (sometimes significantly) different. ディノ千?!? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 20:10, July 21, 2012 (UTC)
To give an example, "遊戯" (yūgi) means "game", "王" (ō) means "king", but "遊戯王" (yūgiō / Yu-Gi-Oh) is nearly always translated as "King of Games" and rarely as "Game King".
In this case, I think "of the Forest" is the favoured translation, as it seems to be following the pattern of some already released cards. More of that on Talk:Forest (series). -- Deltaneos (talk) 20:47, July 21, 2012 (UTC)
So you're saying that "Archer Blah of the Forest" was already a member of that "Forest"? Great, just like "Skull Servant"... --iFredCat 20:49, July 21, 2012 (UTC)
"Arcane Archer of the Forest"? No. His Japanese name, "Magical Bow User of the Dark Green", is completely different. -- Deltaneos (talk) 20:59, July 21, 2012 (UTC)
Ah well, that explain anything. Hey, Cheesy, sorry for burdening into your talk page like this - I need to rebuilding the wall and be on the way. --iFredCat 21:08, July 21, 2012 (UTC)
That thing you said about yugiou doesn't have anything to do with what I'm talking about. I'm talking about the order of the apposition. Game King or King of Games isn't an apposition. Bon is the apposition to Swordsman of the Forest, so it goes after SotF. You seem to think that I'm saying it should be Forest Swordsman instead of Swordsman of the Forest. That's not the case; I'm saying that we maintain the order of the apposition, not the order of every single word in the name. MadRest 01:39, July 22, 2012 (UTC)
And since they have no English names, I'll rename them later. It's actually the same as with other cards which have longer names. For example, it's Chaos Goddess - Goddess of Chaos -, and there's even a trivia point about how the apposition is placed. You're just not noticing it with these cards since the apposition is made up of 1 word. MadRest 01:44, July 22, 2012 (UTC)
I have to concur with Deltaneos and Dinoguy1000. Master D, you seem to translate far too literally. For example, you translated [戦士の生還] as "Alive Return of the Warrior", [オオアリクイクイアリ] as "Oarikuikuiari" and then you went and translated [ガードナー] as "Gardnar". Also, you don't seem to able to differentiate the On and Kun reading of Kanji. Moreover, you can't seem to recognize Japanese wordplay. I strongly believe that you are only copying your translations from an online translator. This is a horrible way of doing it because online translators cannot cope with 2 things: syntax and context. Japanese to English translation is not a simple 1 word to 1 word method. While I do admire your good will in going through many card's Japanese names, I often have to fix your translation edits. Finally, all this is said with no intent of offending you or your work.  HHT   - (Talk to the Turtle) 03:53, July 22, 2012 (UTC)
First of all, check your sources. Gardnar is the Japanese name based on the archetype page, and The Warrior Returning Alive's name was grammatically incorrect; it should be more akin to Safe Return, but whatever. And you're still not addressing my issue. I'm saying we maintain the order of the apposition; I'm not talking about translations. The translations are correct. As I said, would it be fine if I changed the order of the translated Chaos Goddess name into Goddess of Chaos - Chaos Goddess, when it's clearly the opposite? This is the same as with these cards. And please don't tell me you changed all the Gardnar edits. If you don't reply as to why you don't want to maintain the original apposition, I'm going to assume it's because of your own preferences, of wanting the name to be in front. I won't take that as a valid reason. MadRest 14:12, July 22, 2012 (UTC)
First of all, check your sources. The OCG has never translated [ガードナー] as "Gardnar". I can agree with "Safe Return of the Warrior". I have nothing against or for the apposition issue you've mentioned. Like Cheesedude said before, they basically mean the same thing. Please go ahead and change all of them according to your own preference since you are so adamant about it.
Secondly, what you are doing to the translations is a serious issue. Let us take the example, Seven Kids. On that page, you translated [七匹の子ヤギ] as "Seven Animal-Child Goats". This made me facepalm really hard.
  • [七] is obviously "Seven" as in the number.
  • [匹] is used as a counter for small animals. For example,
    • Example sentence: 私は1匹の亀と2匹の猫と3匹の犬を飼っている。 (Watashi wa 1 hiki no kame to 2 hiki no neko to 3 hiki no inu o katte iru.)
    • Translation: I keep 1 turtle, 2 cats and 3 dogs as pets.
  • Notice that the word [匹] was not translated as it has no English equivalent. or anything similar to it in English.
  • [子山羊] is compounded together. [子] is "child" or "offspring". [山羊] is "goat" or "goats.
Therefore, put together in English it means "Seven Kids" because a kid is the offspring of goats. Also, you don't say "kids of goats". It is only "kid".
You still want "Seven Animal-Child Goats"???? This is why I said that you are very obviously using some sort of online translator, most probably Google Translate. As you can see, online translators cannot translate reliably. Now, can you please explain to me why are you so deeply obsessed with Japanese to English translations, if you yourself understand very little 日本語?  HHT   - (Talk to the Turtle) 02:35, July 23, 2012 (UTC)
I made a mistake with that. And I don't still want it. I redid my edit; check the history! I didn't know what a kid was; that's why. And we're not even talking about translations this time. Don't pull in your own subjects! As I said, check the archetype page on Gardna. It clearly says its translated name is Gardnar. Don't make assumptions that when something of mine is corrected, I immediately want it reverted! Do you see me going on about Seven Kids? Stop ignoring the original discussion! We're discussing about the order of the apposition in the translated names, of whether it should be kept, not the actual translations. MadRest 12:42, July 23, 2012 (UTC)
The "Gardnar" thing was added by some random user without any proof. Please show me an official OCG source where it is specifically written in, then we can rename all of them. Your "Seven Animal-Child Goats" mistake is only 1 in the many mistakes taht you've made. Also, you've failed to address the last important question: "Now, can you please explain to me why are you so deeply obsessed with Japanese to English translations, if you yourself understand very little 日本語?"  HHT   - (Talk to the Turtle) 13:42, July 23, 2012 (UTC)
Because it's fun. MadRest 15:29, July 23, 2012 (UTC)
'Facepalm' One more question. If it is fun to you, then why use online translators?  HHT   - (Talk to the Turtle) 15:49, July 23, 2012 (UTC)
You seem to think that every translator is wrong. I only use them to check if the translated names are correct. And if they aren't, I fix them. I don't know Japanese. It's simple as that. I will accept when I'm wrong if a valid reason is given, but in the case of this discussion, we're talking about keeping the original apposition that is already in the Japanese name. That doesn't require a translator. You can clearly see the order of the apposition just by looking at the Japanese name. MadRest 16:06, July 23, 2012 (UTC)
I don't think that all translators are incorrect. I think that they are all unreliable. There is the use of wordplay, figure of speech, idiom, context, syntax, different readings and meanings in the same word, all of which can never be comprehended by a translator. Japanese is an extremely complicated language. I urge you to stop using online translators.  HHT   - (Talk to the Turtle) 16:15, July 23, 2012 (UTC)
If a name is wrong, I can't just leave it. Otherwise, no one will fix it. There are dozens of wrongly translated names here. And the translator I'm using is more reliable than others. It doesn't give a one-word translation. It gives all the possible choices for the kanji, their various pronunciations, and examples in which the word is used. And no, it doesn't translate it literally. It can translate common references. MadRest 16:19, July 23, 2012 (UTC)
If you're using an online translator - any online translator, regardless of advertised, perceived, or actual quality - you've automatically lost the right to declare any translation "incorrect". Machine translation is still years (if not decades) away from even approaching the level of quality and accuracy needed for this type of translation work, and that's if it can happen before the creation of strong AI (which I doubt for a plethora of reasons). In absolutely any situation where I have to pick between what an online translator gives and what a person that knows Japanese gives, I will go with the person every time.
That being said, online translators do serve a purpose; they can be used to sanity-check a given translation, since they generally do well enough for you to tell if a translation is completely off-base or just vandalistic, but even here you have to be careful and check with someone that knows the language. ディノ千?!? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 19:23, July 23, 2012 (UTC)

Just to make it clear: Flame Armor Ninja translated names are Armor Ninja - (respective name). Superdimensional Robot Galaxy Destroyer is not Galaxy Destroyer the Superdimensional Robot. There are tons of other examples, and by everyone's reasoning, no one would complain if these were reordered. They all start with kanji, and then follow with kana, and you people seem to think it doesn't make much difference. MadRest 15:15, July 22, 2012 (UTC)

The effect of Junk Warrior

There is a bit of confusion, the effect of "Junk Warrior" (both real and anime effect) states total ATK. That would make sense for episode 154. "Junk Warrior" gained 900 ATK in episode 4, but when Yusei briefly doubles the ATK of "Speed Warrior" so that he could destroy "Twin-Shield Defender", this card's ATK remained at 3200 when it should have gone up to 4100. Can you help clear up this confusion as this seems to be an error done by the writersCardsknower (talkcontribs) 21:29, July 21, 2012 (UTC)Cardsknower

I think "Junk Warrior" in Anime only look at the Level 2's Original ATK by mistake for that episode. --iFredCat 22:03, July 21, 2012 (UTC)
Actually the effect of "Junk Warrior" is used in the anime three times(the first episode, Yusei and Jack's first Turbo Duel and the final episode). Also the effect of "Speed Warrior"(both anime effect and real effect) say original ATK when it activates. Perhaps the effect of "Speed Warrior" just says ATK not original ATK and Junk Warrior says original ATK. Junk Warrior, in the anime, may also not gain extra ATK from Level 2 or below monsters if the said monsters got a boost in ATK during the Battle Phase(the final episode depicts Yusei's three monsters getting a boost during his Main Phase 1).Cardsknower (talkcontribs) 22:46, July 21, 2012 (UTC)Cardsknower

Fairy Tale

Why is Fairy Tale a series? One card searches for and activates another one, so isn't it an archetype? If not, my concept of archetype is wrong. o.O LegenaryAsariUgetsu (talkcontribs) 01:10, July 22, 2012 (UTC)

Support for a member =/= archsupport. The card has to support the archetype - in other words, the card has to say "Fairy Tale" card, not just "this specific Fairy Tale card". Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 01:57, July 22, 2012 (UTC)

Chinese VS Japanese

So. I have no scans to add for the image of all latest Rides of the 5D's manga (33 on). But we have the full chapters in Chinese. So, I was wondering... Let's use Ride 35's title page as an example. In the center image, the boxes just show the character's names. If I cropped the page so that it only showed the image, removed the names in Chinese and replaced them with the Japanese ones - would it be enough to add here? Of course, in that case, I'd just replace the texts with the Japanese texts I know for sure, as the example I used, or the chapter's name (I could crop the page as much as needed to show the less possible text, and if it only showed, for example, the chapter's name and a card's name, I could replace it with the proper Japanese text). What do you think? LegenaryAsariUgetsu (talkcontribs) 01:17, July 22, 2012 (UTC)

Honestly, I don't know. But it sounds...dodgy to me. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 01:24, July 22, 2012 (UTC)

Yeah, it wouldn't hurt. See what Delt thinks (Dino will likely respond no matter whose talk page page you post on). Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 03:02, July 22, 2012 (UTC)
You know me too well, Cheesedude. =D
I would say that if we absolutely can't find a Japanese scan of a chapter at this time, but do have a Chinese scanslation, we can use that with extreme care (basically, the treatment you suggested above, Asari) and only as a last resort, and we should keep track of the images done this way so that they can be replaced if/when we do get an actual Japanese scan. Basically, I think it turns into a balancing act between wanting to have some image, but not wanting to present material which is outright breaking the law. ディノ千?!? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 06:11, July 22, 2012 (UTC)

So, if we really have no damn scans to add in the chapter, I can take Chinese scans and replace with proper Japanese text, right? Yoshi, gonna do that then. LegenaryAsariUgetsu (talkcontribs) 18:36, July 22, 2012 (UTC)
Well, Dino, it's not as if I'm not a talk page stalker heavily invested in the how this wiki runs myself.

'Kay, so, what about if I do like this? I just cropped everything so that only the image was left, then removed all Chinese text and added the characters' Japanese names instead. The white rectangle in the upper right also had text, but as I don't know the official Japanese text, I left it white. Is it OK if I do like this? I know this is protected, but Skeletal is horribly wrong. It is either body or corpse, from what I can guess. I guess we can wait for the picture to come up, but unless it is made up of bones, move it to either one of those. MadRest 15:11, July 22, 2012 (UTC)

Ok, I'll wait for a picture. No use trying to guess the context. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 00:11, July 23, 2012 (UTC)

Speed Spell the same as Spell Card?

Is a Speed Spell a subcategory of a Spell Card because there have been at least two occasions where the effect of "Nitro Warrior" activated in a Turbo Duel(that would be its first effect).Cardsknower (talkcontribs) 16:36, July 22, 2012 (UTC)Cardsknower

Yes, Cardsknower - Speed Spell groups are also considering a Spell Card, since they had same border color; but they have restrict where original Spell Cards do not: Required "Speed World" field card and required certain Speed Counter to activate them. And again, Cheesy, sorry about other impact hole on the wall... I really need stop butting in. --iFredCat 17:14, July 22, 2012 (UTC)
Yes, a Speed Spell is a Spell. We just categorized it separate on-wiki. It used be categorized as an archetype, which was just wrong, so we changed it a while back. There's a forum discussion about it somewhere. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 00:11, July 23, 2012 (UTC)
A forum for my butting in other Talk Page or are you referring on Forum for that kind of discussing of why Speed Spell being not Archetype? If latter, then I am glad that was a good reason. --iFredCat 00:15, July 23, 2012 (UTC)
A forum discussion about Speed Spells. For the record, I don't really care if you answer questions on my talk page. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 00:16, July 23, 2012 (UTC)

Attack Name

Could you please help em fixing Armored Bee's effect names here? :P Poison Stinger is the English one and Poison Needle the Japanese translated. By the way, could you please teach me how to put double lines on it? I tried many times, sometimes I copy it exactly as it is from other monster, but I can never put it right. xD LegenaryAsariUgetsu (talkcontribs) 01:13, July 25, 2012 (UTC)

I don't actually know myself. If I ever edit that page I just copy another monster and replace the names. I can try to figure it out though. Hang on. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 01:29, July 25, 2012 (UTC)
Yeah, I'm stumped. I can fix it, but it causes the next card down to be borked instead. Someone else will have to get it. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 01:46, July 25, 2012 (UTC)
I fixed it for you (I think, at least; could you make sure the names are in the correct columns?).
Bear with me, I have to start a bit broad for this explanation:
The basic idea to the different columns is that the English column has official English attack names, and the Japanese/Romaji/Translated columns have the appropriate information for official Japanese attack names. The main thing to remember here is that there's not necessarily any correlation between a monster's official English attack name(s) and its official Japanese attack name(s) - especially in the older manga and anime, English attack names seem to be made up on the spot more often than being translated from Japanese. This is reflected in how we use the table: if a monster has one English attack name and one Japanese attack name, it's very straightforward, just one row for the monster containing both names and we're done.
Once we add more names, though, it gets a bit more complicated, but fortunately we can consider the case of multiple English names separately from that of multiple Japanese names. If a monster has multiple English attack names, we format them as a list with the names all in a single cell - simple enough. Monsters with multiple Japanese names is where it really gets tricky, though: because of the extra information we want for Japanese attack names (romaji and translations), we need to have each Japanese name in a separate row. But, we also want all of these rows to be "associated" with the cell containing the name of the monster in question, so we have to span that cell across rows. we do this with the code rowspan="N", where N is the number of Japanese names (since there's one row per Japanese name, the number of rows we have to span will always equal the number of Japanese names). So, for example, if we have a monster named "Deadly Markup" (bad joke haha) with 3 Japanese names, the code for the cell for the monster's name would be | rowspan="3" | [[Deadly Markup]], and that would be followed by the rest of the markup for the row for the first name, and then by two more rows containing the other two names (these latter two rows don't have the very first cell for the monster name, since that cell is spanning into these rows from the first row). But don't forget about our column for the English name. As I said above, all the English attack names go in a list in one cell, so if we include cells for English names in the latter two rows, they'll just be empty. So we do the same here as we did for the card name cell: we span the cell for the English attack names across all three rows (again using the markup rowspan="3" in the first row), and don't include any markup for the English cell in the latter two rows.
While this may sound a bit complicated, you'll find that it's actually quite simple once you've gotten comfortable with how spanning a cell across rows works. At that point, the main difficulty comes from trying to keep the rows straight, particularly if a monster has a bunch of Japanese attack names; I should probably write a row template for the Attack name page that abstracts all this away and keeps all the Japanese attack names firmly associated with the appropriate monster.
Other than that, if you need me to clarify or better explain something (I'd actually be more surprised if neither of you have any further questions, because of how rambling and unclear my above writing is =/ ), feel free to ask. =) ディノ千?!? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 02:18, July 25, 2012 (UTC)
Actually, my head hurts, but I think I got it xD. It looks simple indeed, it was just that I didn't know how to.
Edit: After seeing your edit I got it, so never mind the question I made. LegenaryAsariUgetsu (talkcontribs) 02:34, July 25, 2012 (UTC)
That's how my head feels pretty much every time I delve into template coding... I must be a masochist, though, because I can't get enough of it. XD
The real secret to getting through stuff like this is to break it down into parts, and work on each part separately until you understand it. Then, once you've gotten through a few of the parts, you can start looking at how they fit together, which usually gives you insights that feed back into your understanding of the parts, etc. ;) ディノ千?!? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 02:44, July 25, 2012 (UTC)
Yeah, that's what I attempted to do, but I seem to find that wikitable in particular more inscrutable than most. I mean, I feel fairly comfortable editing CardTable2 at this point, but the attack name table just escapes me. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 02:53, July 25, 2012 (UTC)
Probably because that table uses raw wikimarkup (not even HTML, where you could at least follow along with opening and closing tags), whereas I switched CardTable2 over to HTML a long time ago to make coding in it easier, and then abstracted the whole thing with a couple of row templates to make coding even easier yet. ;) ディノ千?!? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 03:37, July 25, 2012 (UTC)

RE: The Organization

I'll look around, but I don't think I can help much if it's about translations. (Currently waiting on the "The administrator wishes to preview all new registered accounts before posting permissions are granted. The administrator has been notified of your registration.")
I don't think I've ever mentioned a complete list of what languages I know anywhere... might as well, and I'll make it a complete list so I can copy/paste it if I ever need it again.
I've learnt Chinese for a year or two in primary school, French for half a year and Japanese for a year and a half as one of the subjects in high school, and picked up more lines of Japanese through watching anime, but it shouldn't be enough to actively translate.
I can converse well in English (duh), Chinese and Cantonese. Writing/Reading, not so much for the latter two.
I can also read stuff like the ones at User talk:魔法師#Gwong Dung Waa (which is essentially word sounds from Cantonese), although it doesn't have a use in Yu-Gi-Oh afaik.
and for the sake of completeness, Java and TEX/LATEX for the main programming languages, not that it means anything in this particular message. -Falzar FZ- (talk page|useful stuff) 03:46, July 25, 2012 (UTC)

5D's episode 5 featured cards

There is a big inconsistency with the cards Yusei's hand whenever it is shown(I placed it in already and noticed this). Yusei's first hand showed "Defense Draw" and "Graceful Revival", but the next time Yusei's hand is shown, it shows "Counterattack Beacon" and "Meteor Stream" and that remains that way for the next episode. Yusei also appeared to be drawing "Spacegate" on the fifth turn, but by process of elmination that should have been "Defense Draw". I think this was an error on the writers' part because they probably got too caught up with this epic battle. Please reply when possibleCardsknower (talkcontribs) 19:58, July 27, 2012 (UTC)Cardsknower

Yeah, mentioning an inconsistency like that in the Mistakes section is fine. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 22:02, July 27, 2012 (UTC)

A few unknown cards that were shown but not known

In episode 44 of GX, there was a Trap Amanael used to stop the attack of "Cyber Blader". Although I could assume that would be "Elemental Absorber", there is no proof on that. Should we make note of this one of the episode 44 page or the Amnael page. Amnael also used an unknown Spell to destroy Alexis' "Cyber Blader" and Chazz's "Armed Dragon LV7". Also in episode 8 of 5D's, there is an unknown Spell Card in Hunter's hand that neither me or Zingerzheng could make out. I don't if it was any of the Speed Spells that Hunter used against Yusei but I don't think that's likely. Can you try to make out what card it is in your spare time?Cardsknower (talkcontribs) 23:12, July 28, 2012 (UTC)Cardsknower

It's such to not been showing - so let's just leave it as unknown Trap Card, my friend. --iFredCat 23:15, July 28, 2012 (UTC)

Yuma Tsukumo page images

Hey cheesedude. You see i really noticed there are a LOT of images in Yuma's page which are really unnecessary. Like dueling minor characters, he gets an errand from Haru, picking a vegetable, activating Stinging Swordsman's effect, checking his new cards and the list goes on! I tried removing those in the page as they serve no purpose. Then a wikia contributor put them back. Can you maybe do some clean up in images in pages that sere no purpose? ----SharkTenjo 00:19, July 29, 2012 (UTC)

Well, it's quite a long page. In this case, I'd aruge that having unimportant images there is still better than not having images. The images are really needed to help break up those paragraphs. The best course of action is to just upload some that are relevant and replace them. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 00:29, July 29, 2012 (UTC)
Well the paragraphs are breaked down even without the images right? ----SharkTenjo 00:44, July 29, 2012 (UTC)
Agreed - and they didn't do the back and forth on image by image very well; like you have to put the next image to the right if previous one is left. --iFredCat 00:54, July 29, 2012 (UTC)
Not what I meant by broken up. Try reading a long article that has no images. It sucks. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 00:56, July 29, 2012 (UTC)
Exactly, by whom do you agree? ----SharkTenjo 00:57, July 29, 2012 (UTC)
Have you seen the GX articles? There are just a few important images there. Also there are a lot of images in Yumas page so removing those unnecessary images wont do anything but makes the page having more sense. ----SharkTenjo 00:59, July 29, 2012 (UTC)
I agreed - it just give the reader(s) who have not seen the show some background understand of what the hell was going on with that event. They do serving the purposes after all, Shark. --iFredCat 01:02, July 29, 2012 (UTC)
Actually the readers look at the Episode listing not the character pages. ----SharkTenjo 01:06, July 29, 2012 (UTC)
I knew, but what if readers don't know what that place look like in the image - that's the purpose. --iFredCat 01:08, July 29, 2012 (UTC)
That's because the GX articles are very incomplete. Every single character biography needs to be expanded. With more text, comes more images. And how exactly would you know what the people who read the wiki are reading? Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 01:10, July 29, 2012 (UTC)
If reading the text still not clear enough (as describe of how their look changes or the field changed at suddenly minute) then look at the image would help realizing what it happened. Like couple times, Falzar or you pointed out the Dark Xyz Monster ever through it's not played on the field, it was behind one of Yuma's long rival (not Shark or blond-head dude, the fatty dude who used Utopia once)... --iFredCat 01:13, July 29, 2012 (UTC)
That actually proves my point. If they dont do much reading, then the image serve no purpose. it can just be moved to their respective episode to which it appeared in ----SharkTenjo 01:16, July 29, 2012 (UTC)
Again, I ask for evidence to back up your statement of "people don't read the character bios." Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 01:24, July 29, 2012 (UTC)
I did not say that people do not read character bios ----SharkTenjo 02:02, July 29, 2012 (UTC)
Cheesy, go wash your eyeballs with bleach and come back, read his comment little closer. --iFredCat 02:06, July 29, 2012 (UTC)
You said that they look at the episode listings, not the character pages. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 02:12, July 29, 2012 (UTC)
Lol Fred, exactly. Fred said that people who havent seen the show can understand what the hell is going on. What i meant in my reply was that if they want to know what the hell is going on, they can see the episode listing. i did not say "No one reads character bios!" -_-" ----SharkTenjo 02:49, July 29, 2012 (UTC)
That may be what you meant, but there wasn't enough context for me to realize that. Fair enough, sorry. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 03:09, July 29, 2012 (UTC)
I agree with Cheesedude. Having many unnecessary images is much better than having no images at all. Just take a look at Juudai's page. If you try to read it, you'll feel like you're back at school. But if you think they're dumb, why don't you just start a discussion on Yuma's talk page so more people can say their opinions about this topic? FredCat: The blonde one is called Kaito. Shadow Charm Emerald Tablet

Hey, Cheesedude. I've been watching the sub and dub GX episodes 45 and 46 trying to find when this image appears, but I'm not finding it. There is a shot of the book opening, but it's much thicker than the tablet in this image and at a different angle. If you get a chance, could you see if you could find it? We could use an image without the CN watermark. Thanks. --Golden Key (talkcontribs) 18:46, July 29, 2012 (UTC)

I'll look into in a few hours, assuming the storm that's here passes. There's a chance its from episode 44 as well. This is exactly the reason that fair use rationale is a good thing - it follows copyright law and it tells you what episode images are from. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 23:33, July 29, 2012 (UTC)
I checked around on a few other YGO sites and didn't find anything. Tell you what I'll do. Sometime (hopefully in the coming week, but definitely not tomorrow since I'll be tied up with ZEXAL), I'll watch those episodes again and try to spot it. And I'll go ahead and expand the summaries I did the last time I watched them. This is one of my favorite GX Duels, actually. I don't have the inclination to do a summary right now, but I don't want to watch the episodes again and not improve the articles too. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 02:22, July 30, 2012 (UTC)
Sounds good. It is an awesome Duel, maybe you can get a few additional images to spruce the pages up. I've only been watching episodes long enough to get what I consider an image that captures the spirit of an episode, as opposed the the current main images, which were pretty boring/vague. But the pages are pretty bare when compared to ZEXAL episode pages. Good luck battling your storm. --Golden Key (talkcontribs) 02:31, July 30, 2012 (UTC)
Yeah, I'll see what I do there too. I don't' actually screencap much myself. Usually, I check kaiba222's photobucket page. He's been doing screencap galleries there since early GX and is still doing them now for ZEXAL (though anything from GX that is pre-season 2 has very few images). Most images I upload for episode articles are from his galleries, as its rare that he doesn't have an image that fits each paragraph I write (also, I only recently learned how to screencap to begin with). Sometimes I do have a very specific image I want that I screencap myself (like this one). For these episodes, I'll likely be doing a lot of the screencapping myself. The ZEXAL articles are also helped by the fact that they're just plain animated better. Even a really good GX image will rarely look as good as a random ZEXAL image. And the storm has passed, thanks. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 02:45, July 30, 2012 (UTC)
Never found that image of the tablet, eh? I guess it remains a mystery where the image came from. --Golden Key (talkcontribs) 02:14, August 3, 2012 (UTC)
Nope. Uploaded a different image though. I still have episode 46 to do as well, so I might find it yet. We'll see. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 02:18, August 3, 2012 (UTC)

Do you need images for episode articles? --The Goblin 02:36, August 3, 2012 (UTC)

Episode 10 problem

Mr. Armstrong activates the effect of "Poison Chain" on his second to last turn of the Duel. Shortly after he activates the effect of "Iron Chain Blaster" and then he activates the effect of "Iron Chain Repairman". This is impossible as "Poison Chain" activates on the End Phase while "Iron Chain Blaster" and Iron Chain Repairman" activates during the Main Phase. This would mean "Poison Chain" activates at the end of the Battle Phase in the anime rather than the End Phase(The first time Armstrong activated this card's effect would be correct, but not the second time since he used the effect of Blaster and Repairman shortly after activating Poison Chain's effect). Please reply when possible. Thank you!Cardsknower (talkcontribs) 17:36, July 30, 2012 (UTC)Cardsknower

Its likely the effect was slightly different and that it could be manually activated during the Main Phase. At points where he activates it during the End Phase, he probably actually did so in his Main Phase, but just directly before the end of the turn. We don't have a full anime card image for the card to confirm it though. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 17:40, July 30, 2012 (UTC)

Cards Yusei had to send due to Iron Chain Dragon's effect

Iron Chain Dragon made Yusei send the top three cards of his Deck to the Graveyard. Although I saw "Yaranzo" and "Karate Man", I saw an effect monster and even though it is stated that was "Night Assailant", is there proof that card was because I couldn't make out the background due to shot going too fast. There was an error in the animation that showed Yusei throwing away three "Yaranzos", but in reality he only threw away one. Can you find proof that is "Night Assailant"Cardsknower (talkcontribs) 03:56, July 31, 2012 (UTC)Cardsknower

There is an image of it. I can't tell if it's "Night Assailant" or not myself though. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 04:21, July 31, 2012 (UTC)
I was going through the website where that pictured originated from and that website confirms that card was "Night Assailant". I don't know how actually, but they must have compared it to the japanese lore of "Night Assailant".Cardsknower (talkcontribs) 04:36, July 31, 2012 (UTC)Cardsknower
I don't think that it is "Night Assailant". The Japanese lore of that card is only 2 lines long, while the Japanese lore for "Night Assailant" is 3 lines long. ZingerZheng (talkcontribs) 04:56, July 31, 2012 (UTC)
Actually the lore of that card is approximately three lines long though the shot is too small to make out. If you do not think that "Night Assailant" is the card, then do you have suggestions on what card it is. You can also try to find a better shot of that card when Yusei throws it, "Karate Man" and "Yaranzo" to the Graveyard.Cardsknower (talkcontribs) 05:16, July 31, 2012 (UTC)Cardsknower

Reply Back

Okay. I was thinking about putting something like an achievements record or something similar on a few characters pages.

No. I meant something like when Luna went to the Duel Monster's Spirit World to defeat Zeman, or when Yuma and Astral destroyed the part of Tron connected with Haruto, or when Astral took on Black Mist. Some of those events should get a mentioned.

What do you mean?

I guess there's only one way to find out.

I'll set up a few achievement articles tomorrow and see where it goes from there.

I did one for Sherry's page, though out of habit I placed them in her deck article. You can move it if you want but I just get so confused when editing on here.

Counterattack Beacon's effect

The effect of this card states that other effects can't be activated during the battle that this card conducts between the two battling monsters, however Jack and Yusei were able to activate the effect(s) of "Prideful Roar" and "Shield Warrior" respectively. I need to get this confusion solved somehow.Cardsknower (talkcontribs) 01:26, August 1, 2012 (UTC)Cardsknower

The episode indicates otherwise and we don't have a clear enough image to get a translation. I would just remove it. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 05:46, August 1, 2012 (UTC)
By default, you cannot activate cards while a card is in the process of resolving. If "conduct battle" is part of the effects of "Counterattack Beacon", then other effects cannot be activated, just like "Confusion Chaff" and "Equip Shot". Their Japanese lores actually do not mention anything about other effects. ZingerZheng (talkcontribs) 16:07, August 3, 2012 (UTC)
Actually you can because conduct battle jumps to Damage Calculation and Damage Step. Cards effects that activate there can still be used in that point. "Prideful Roar" is valid in being activated because it activates during Damage Calculation which would be the correct point. The effect of "Shield Warrior" would also be valid because it also activates during the Damage Calculation.Cardsknower (talkcontribs) 19:57, August 3, 2012 (UTC)Cardsknower

Manga lore

Hey again Cheesedude, could you add a Spanish manga lore field to the template? Thanks. --Golden Key (talkcontribs) 02:58, August 1, 2012 (UTC)

There is. Its at "es_manga_lore". The Spanish lores should use "es", not "sp". Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 05:46, August 1, 2012 (UTC)
Oh right, the Spanish manga lore field uses "es" instead of "sp", unlike the other Spanish fields. I remember Dinoguy commenting on that now. --Golden Key (talkcontribs) 15:37, August 1, 2012 (UTC)

Another question I need to ask

I know this is a bit of a drag and a bit of an outdated question, but I think we need to make it clear if you have to send "Crystal Counter" to the Graveyard to activate its effect. Its cost states you need to send all cards in your Spell & Trap Card Zone to the Graveyard. In a technical sense, that would mean you would have to send "Crystal Counter" to the Graveyard too. I need to get this confusion. 1exodiafan1 states "Crystal Counter" states it stays on the field until its effect resolves.Cardsknower (talkcontribs) 04:19, August 1, 2012 (UTC)Cardsknower

I would just change the lore to say "all cards in your Spell & Trap Card Zone except this card". Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 05:46, August 1, 2012 (UTC)

Image Tag Information

  • Hi there Cheesedude. I just had a few questions. I wanted to upload some screenshots of TF6 cinematics to the Wiki to the relevant card galleries, but I'm unsure of which tags to use for the images when I upload them. I saw "BlueEyesWhiteDragon-WC11-EN-VG-NC.png" get used for the WC11 cinematics, so I'm guessing I would use "BlueEyesWhiteDragon-TF06-EN-VG-NC.png" for Tag Force 6 if it was an image of the BEWD, for example. Is this correct? Also, is there any page on the Wiki that lists what these abbreviations mean? Thanks.--YamiWheeler (talkcontribs) 01:48, August 5, 2012 (UTC)

This card says you have to banish a Plant-type monster to activate it, but Akiza in both versions never did so. She activated this card's effect immediately, suggesting this card doesn't have a cost in the anime. Reply when you can!Cardsknower (talkcontribs) 00:28, August 11, 2012 (UTC)Cardsknower

ZW - Tornado Bringer

I want to ask if you know which dragon "Tornado Bringer" is based on. Its appearance is based off of the Chinese/Oriental Dragon as mentioned in the Trivia Page. I originally assumed it was the Azure Dragon, but that wouldn't be it because "Tornado Bringer" is red instead of blue. Reply when you can!Cardsknower (talkcontribs) 16:51, August 13, 2012 (UTC)Cardsknower

Oh, I have no idea. Its definitely not a Western-like Dragon, but beyond that I don't know. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 16:53, August 13, 2012 (UTC)

Curse of Rose

Was this card used in a videogame. If not then why do we have it on a separate slot instead of using that as its official name. We usually give anime-exclusive cards their English anime name if possible. If they have an official name in a videogame, then we used that as the official name of that card. Reply when you can!Cardsknower (talkcontribs) 17:31, August 13, 2012 (UTC)Cardsknower

I don't know if it was used in a video game or not. I have no idea where the "altname" came from. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 17:34, August 13, 2012 (UTC)
Maybe I should rename the name of "Curse of Rose" to its official English Anime name. If I do so, I will put the translated Japanese name in a separate slot.Cardsknower (talkcontribs) 17:37, August 13, 2012 (UTC)Cardsknower
Taking a look through the article's edit history may help us figure out where the name came from. I would check that before moving anything. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 17:39, August 13, 2012 (UTC)
That was done by 1exodiafan1 three years ago. He never gave an official reason why he did that because it he never stated that in his summary section of his edit.Cardsknower (talkcontribs) 17:48, August 13, 2012 (UTC)Cardsknower
Try asking him. He may remember why he did it and he does still edit. If not, then yeah, go ahead and move it. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 17:51, August 13, 2012 (UTC)

Yu-Gi-Oh! GX Chapter 28 image

In the chapter listing of the Yu-Gi-Oh! GX manga, chapter 28 doesn't have a page image at all on the chapter listing page or it's own page. I noticed that you uploaded many of the previous chapter images, so I was wondering if you can upload the cover of Yu-Gi-Oh! GX chapter 28? Spectertv (talkcontribs) 22:45, August 14, 2012 (UTC)

Aye, that was the one chapter I just couldn't dig up anywhere. If I knew were to get an image for it, we'd have one. Sorry. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 01:06, August 15, 2012 (UTC)

It's alright. Spectertv (talkcontribs) 15:29, August 15, 2012 (UTC)

Cant Edit Pages With Locks

Hey whats Up Cheesedude I Was Wondering Why We Cant Edit Pages With Locks Exmaple Back Than Some Cards And Titles Were Locked That Only Admins Can Edit Why is That?

Certain pages are locked to prevent vandalism when they are frequent targets. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 00:29, August 16, 2012 (UTC)

Hey, CD. Can you get a manga scan of "Rose Papillon" and "White Papillon" on the field together for the "Papillon" page? I think that might work as a better page image. --Golden Key (talkcontribs) 16:00, August 16, 2012 (UTC)

Unfortunately, there are only two poor images of that. One has very strange, choppy art, which I think was supposed to represent the effect of "Rose Papillon". The other is before Amon Tributes them, so they're surrounded in lines and half of "Rose Papillon" is cut off the page. I really don't think either image is better than the current one, actually. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 16:46, August 16, 2012 (UTC)
Too bad, but thanks for checking. --Golden Key (talkcontribs) 17:56, August 16, 2012 (UTC)

Immortal Homeostasis's effect

This card says its effect activates during your Standby Phase. Technically the card was Frank's card, so wouldn't that mean it would activate on his Standby Phase instead of Luna's. The featured duel section of episode 18 and 19 say it activated on Luna's Standby Phase not Frank's.Cardsknower (talkcontribs) 00:48, August 17, 2012 (UTC)Cardsknower

I don't know. Does it being equipped to an opponent's monster make a difference, usually? Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 00:50, August 17, 2012 (UTC)
It kind of does because it is Frank's card so therefore it would mean this card's effect would activate on his Standby Phase if it says it activates on his Standby Phase. The Featured Duel section says it activates on Luna's Standby Phase, so I think it should mean that it activates on the equipped monster's controller's Standby Phase.Cardsknower (talkcontribs) 00:55, August 17, 2012 (UTC)Cardsknower
That works. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 00:57, August 17, 2012 (UTC)
The Japanese lore says "装備モンスターのコントローラーのスタンバイフェイズ". So, yes, the equipped monster's controller's Standby Phase. ZingerZheng (talkcontribs) 00:59, August 17, 2012 (UTC)

Fairy Wind

There is a bit of a problem here. Fairy Wind is supposed to destroy all other Spells and Traps and inflict 400 damage to both players for each card destroyed. Three cards were shown destroyed so both players took 1200 damage. "Immortal Homeostasis" and "Wave of Ill Intent" do not seem to count despite them being seemingly destroyed by this card. If that was the case then Luna would have probably already lost the Duel.Cardsknower (talkcontribs) 04:39, August 18, 2012 (UTC)Cardsknower

I don't know what happened there. I'll watch that part of the episode later today and try to figure it out. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 09:44, August 18, 2012 (UTC)
Do you think maybe "Fairy Wind" in the anime, destroys the Spell/Traps of the player's choosing? Luna would obviously destroy "Gestalt Trap" because she wanted to end the Duel now. Did you figure out what the card's anime lore is yet because you haven't replied back yet.Cardsknower (talkcontribs) 19:59, August 18, 2012 (UTC)Cardsknower
There is no real explanation. The card lore isn't actually shown in the episode, so it can't be checked. All the subs I've found have her say it destroys all face-up Spell/Trap Cards on the field. (For what's it worth, "Immortal Homeostasis" and "Wave of Ill Intent" aren't shown on the field after the card resolves). If it only destroys cards she picks, it makes no sense to destroy "Horn of the Unicorn" and not Frank's cards. I really don't have an answer. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 00:41, August 19, 2012 (UTC)
Still if they were destroyed by "Fairy Wind", then Luna would have lost the Duel since she would take 2000 damage instead of 1200. Unless this was a mistake on the writers' part or the lines being said, this is left as debatable.Cardsknower (talkcontribs) 00:52, August 19, 2012 (UTC)Cardsknower
Based on the info we have, the only logical conclusion is that it was a writing screw-up. So, yeah. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 00:55, August 19, 2012 (UTC)
They were probably destroyed by "Fairy Wind", but the writers probably made an error with the line Luna said or they didn't count it so that way the Duel can be ended end in a draw. Another possible reason is that "Fairy Wind's" damage effect excludes face-up Spells controlled by the opponent(remember "Gestalt Trap" is a Trap Card and both "Wave of Ill Intent" and "Immortal Homeostasis" are Spells). If that was the case, then it would make sense with the damage being 1200. This is just my guess however.Cardsknower (talkcontribs) 01:10, August 19, 2012 (UTC)Cardsknower

RE:GX manga

Oh. Didn't expect that. :| Some of the images for the manga in some cards' galleries said "Duel Monsters GX", and the anime is "Duel Monsters GX", so I really thought it was like that. Although this doesn't make much sense.... Well then, I'll fix them. Thanks for telling me early ;) (it'd be a pain to fix this for 64 chapters xD). Crime and Punishment and Agent of Hatred

There is a problem here. The effect of "Agent of Hatred" says it activates during the Battle Phase, however according to what the effect of "Crime and Punishment" is, Koda did not summon that monster until the end of the Battle Phase, so this is illogical. I think one of the cards has to change its effect. "Violet Witch" is no problem because her effect is a Trigger Compulsory Effect, so it would activate even if another effect comes after the effect that destroys it.Cardsknower (talkcontribs) 23:58, August 20, 2012 (UTC)Cardsknower

I don't know. I would have someone check the Japanese lore of "Crime and Punishment". Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 00:08, August 21, 2012 (UTC)
I reread both lores and the effect of "Agent of Hatred" is a Trigger Optional Effect and according to the duel page in episode 22, it activates at the end of the Battle Phase and it appeared that the second effect of "Crime and Punishment" activates during the Battle Phase rather than its end. Reply when possible.Cardsknower (talkcontribs) 23:19, August 21, 2012 (UTC)Cardsknower
I'm not really sure what you just said, that's how weak my grasp of game mechanics is. Are you saying the pages are fine or that we do need to change something. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 23:23, August 21, 2012 (UTC)
They should be changed. The effect of "Agent of Hatred" should say end of Battle Phase and I think "Crime and Punishment" should be changed so that it says it activates during the Battle Phase and it should be "after" its first effect because the effect of "Violet Witch" activates and resolves after the first effect and the effect of "Violet Witch" is compulsory so it will activate regardless.Cardsknower (talkcontribs) 23:38, August 21, 2012 (UTC)Cardsknower
Ok then. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 23:47, August 21, 2012 (UTC)

Oh, I see. But, if we don't know when the change happens, then we should leave all "HEROes" in the manga articles as "Heroes", until the last chapter? LegendaryAsariUgetsu (talkcontribs) 19:26, August 23, 2012 (UTC)

'Kay, and no problem. LegendaryAsariUgetsu (talkcontribs) 19:30, August 23, 2012 (UTC)

GX manga Summons

So, I've just read up to chapter 9 of the GX manga, but I've noted they talk about many minor kinds of Summons on it, like "Union Summon" (合体召喚, Gattai Shōkan), "Evolution Summon" (進化召喚, Shinka Shōkan), "Soul/Spirit Summon" (魂召喚, Tamashī Shōkan), etc (and all this just up to chapter 9). I noticed we have an article for "Transformation Summon", which is another minor kind of Summon from the manga, but we don't have articles for the rest of them. I'm not sure if they are all worth of an article, though. Maybe I could just add them together with Gemini Summon, Contact Summon, etc., in the Summon article? Or I should create articles for them as well? LegendaryAsariUgetsu (talkcontribs) 15:55, August 24, 2012 (UTC)

Can you tell me what cards each of those were used with (I assume Union Summon was for "Dragonic Knight" and Evolution Summon was for "Winged Kuriboh LV10")? It could just be for dramatic effect. I recall a conversation I had (can't remember if it was on Janime or NAC) that Transformation Summon isn't a Summon. Its just a Fusion Summon, not a new kind. Perhaps we could make a new article and merge Transformation Summon into it. Regardless, this is going to take some research. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 16:42, August 24, 2012 (UTC)
Well, remember I've just read up to chapter 9, but so far, "Evolution Summon" was used for "Winged Kuriboh LV10" and "Elemental HERO Poison Rose". "Union Summon" was used for, yeah, "Dragonic Knight". "Soul Summon" was just used by Judai when he Summoned "Elemental HERO Terra Firma" fusing monsters in his Grave, by using "Soul Fusion". Although I consider "Combination" and "Soul Fusion" very minor, "Transformation Fusion" is worth mentioning in my opinion, as it is a different kind of Fusion Summon, just like Contact Fusion. Maybe we could mention just Summons which were used more than once? For example, we could disregard "Soul Summon", as it seems to have been used by Judai, as you said, just to make a nice effect, and I don't think it will be ever used again. But "Transformation Fusion" is the special way all "Masked HEROes" are summoned. So, we could mention only Summons as "Transformation", and disregard Summons as "Soul". What do you think? LegendaryAsariUgetsu (talkcontribs) 18:12, August 24, 2012 (UTC)
I suppose that's fine for now. I'd like to see what else pops up as you continue. On another note, the manga gets much better after chapter 10 when the plot starts. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 18:25, August 24, 2012 (UTC)
'Kay. I think I'll just add "Evolution Summon" if it appears more times. And yeah, I noticed they were just introducing the characters, and was wondering when the plot would begin. So it begins on the next chapter I'm gonna read. xD By the way, do you want me to talk to you 'bout the other Summons which appear, as I read through? LegendaryAsariUgetsu (talkcontribs) 18:48, August 24, 2012 (UTC)
That's fine. Yeah, let me know when and if you find more. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 18:51, August 24, 2012 (UTC)
By the way, right now I'm getting the missing images for the cards of chapter 9, and I noticed Sho's "Armoroid" is also "Union Summoned". Although these "Union Summons" are just Fusion Summons, I don't get why Kageyama-sensei insists on using both "Fusion" and "Union" Summon in the manga. *sigh* Maybe "Union Summon" is used for Fusion monsters which are Summoned using a different way (in the manga, Manjoume's "Dragonic Knight" can only be Summoned with "Dragon Unit Ritual", while Sho's "Armoroid" had a very unique way of Summon, using 3 "roids" as Spell Cards as Materials, not even using "Polymerization"). Again, I think I'll just add this if it appears more, and only if it follows the standard I said. LegendaryAsariUgetsu (talkcontribs) 19:10, August 24, 2012 (UTC)
IIRC, neither "Dragonic Knight" nor "Armoroid" were actually shown as cards. Only the monster was shown. It could be that they aren't Fusions, they actually are some new type of monster, which as often happens, the fandom decided was whatever actual mechanic it most closely resembled by default. Kageyama more or less dropped that premise though, neither card appears again. I would also note that especially later on, he plays stuff far closer to the real game than any other anime or manga. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 19:23, August 24, 2012 (UTC)
You're right. In that case, shouldn't we change them to "Effect Monster" in their articles and in the chapters' articles? As they weren't "Fusion Summoned", but "Union Summoned", then they more probably are Effect Monsters as you said, which have special requirements to Summon, like Nomis. And it's good that he starts being more realistic from later on, the effect of "Carrierroid" confused me so that I had to read it 3 times to understand what happened. :/ By the way, does he also learn the rules of the game later? 'Cuz on chapter 7, Judai is clearly shown Setting a Trap Card, and then activates it on the same turn it was Set. :/ And on chapter 1, the play which won Judai the Duel actually isn't valid, 'cuz a replay would happen. :/ LegendaryAsariUgetsu (talkcontribs) 19:53, August 24, 2012 (UTC)
Yeah, that's fine. The whole thing is very rough around the edges at first. The story gets better (in fact, overall its my favorite iteration of YGO period). I won't say there aren't mistakes later on, but there are far less major ones. When it comes to replays, that's something that's often ignored altogether in anime and manga anyway. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 21:00, August 24, 2012 (UTC)
I see. I quickly read chapter 10 yesterday before going to sleep, and things are really moving forward. It seems that Judai's backstory in the manga is gonna be much better than the "I made a card which actually had an evil spirit on it and sent it to outer space lol" from the anime.
And about our dear Nomis, I'm gonna fix 'em then, and maybe I could add in the end of the lore "Effects approximated"? Because we don't actually know. "Armoroid", for example. We don't know if it needs "3 roids" as Materials, or "2 or more roids", or those 3 specific "roid" monsters. LegendaryAsariUgetsu (talkcontribs) 14:07, August 25, 2012 (UTC)
Yes, his backstory is much better this time.
Maybe add {{Unofficial name|English manga}}? Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 18:36, August 25, 2012 (UTC)
I don't think that shows the actual effects are unknown. It just says they aren't official, but doesn't say they may be different and/or have other effects as well.
By the way, on chapter 14, when Koyo Summons "Terra Firma" with "Parallel World Fusion", he doesn't claim "Soul Summon", as Judai did when Summoning it with "Soul Fusion". So I guess it just refers to the card name itself, not to Fusion Summoning a monster using banished Materials. Thus, irrelevant. LegendaryAsariUgetsu (talkcontribs) 19:15, August 25, 2012 (UTC)
Fair enough. It's still going to look odd to have something like effects approximated at the end though. I'm not too sure what to do.
Yup, that one was just for dramatic effect then, I guess. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 22:42, August 25, 2012 (UTC)
Now that we are talking 'bout it, things like that happen all the time in the anime and manga. For example, in ZEXAL Rank 19, Shark Summoned "Cat Shark" with "Chain Summon", and just said "I'll activate its effect to double the ATK of my Xyz Monsters". We don't know its Materials, nor DEF, nor if it has any other effects, limitations, drawbacks, nothing. Look "Feelings Towards the Future" as well. If the card wasn't shown, we'd never know it inflicts 4000 damage to its user if they do not Xyz Summon, as Kaito did Xyz Summon and thus took no damage. I think we should create a new template just like {{Unofficial lore}} for cases like that - which we have a lot. We could talk to Dino 'bout that, what do you think? LegendaryAsariUgetsu (talkcontribs) 00:32, August 26, 2012 (UTC)
True. Bring it up to him if you like and link him here, I suppose. This is something that needs more discussion regardless, which may end up coming about here anyway. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 00:44, August 26, 2012 (UTC)

Just One Question

In episode 22, were there any other cards in flashbacks besides "Violet Witch".Cardsknower (talkcontribs) 23:11, August 24, 2012 (UTC)Cardsknower

I don't know. I've not seen that episode in a long time. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 23:30, August 24, 2012 (UTC)

Dark Verger

There is a problem here. Akiza summoned "Dark Verger" after she used "Copy Plant's" effect when it should have been after Copy Plant was summoned. This would not be the correct timing for Dark Verger's effect. I think we should change Dark Verger's effect to make it match up to what was shown in episode 24.Cardsknower (talkcontribs) 21:23, August 25, 2012 (UTC)Cardsknower

'kay. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 22:42, August 25, 2012 (UTC)

Ivy Shackles

This card is a Trap in the real game but it is a Spell in the anime. We should make note of that as an animelore on the card page. I don't think the effect has to be changed at all because its effect appears to be the same in the real game and the anime. Reply when you can!Cardsknower (talkcontribs) 15:20, August 26, 2012 (UTC)Cardsknower

Excuse the intruding. Yes, if it is a Spell in the anime, and a Trap in the OCG/TCG, then [[Spell Card]]<br /> should be added in the beginning of the animelore. LegendaryAsariUgetsu (talkcontribs) 20:46, August 26, 2012 (UTC)

Some help

I am trying to make the anime lore of "Destiny HERO - Dogma" a Continuous Effect since the GX episode 98 page says the effect is not continuous. I think that would mean it should not say activate or resolve as Continuous Effects don't activate because they are automatically applied and can only be negated by something like "Rainbow Veil" or "Skill Drain". Reply when you can!Cardsknower (talkcontribs) 19:12, August 26, 2012 (UTC)Cardsknower.

I'm not sure. The anime "Dogma" halved the opponent's Life Points every Standby Phase instead of just the next one. I thought that's what the note was referring to. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 23:39, August 26, 2012 (UTC)
I think that's what I mean. I changed the anime lore in an attempt to make it so that way its effect happens during the Duel, but does not activate(since it mentioned in the episode page that the effect of "Dogma" is not Continuous). Usually when the effect of a monster it activates, the new errata says that the monster must be face-up on the field for the effect to activate and resolve the effect, suggesting it might be a Trigger Monster Effect. I think we might have to change that note because it can be Trigger in both versions, but the difference in the anime is that it just activates during each of your opponent's Standby Phases.Cardsknower (talkcontribs) 00:31, August 27, 2012 (UTC)Cardsknower
