I'm pretty sure the list was a lot longer than that. There's obviously way more commonly used cards.

And why is Marshmallon Semi-Staple and Spirit Reaper a staple? Marshmallon is clearly better.

Definition of "Semi-Staple"

  • Can we just make it clear that a Semi-Staple is NOT a card that is simply popularly used - it is a card that is seen in virtually every, or the majority of decks. This article lists cards that are used in virtually every Side Deck (i.e. TKRO, Cyber Dragon, etc.) and cards that are splashable into most decks but aren't necessarily Staples (i.e. Gorz, Sangan, etc.) Cards such as Ryko, Lightsworn Hunter are popular, but are by no means staples - Ryko simply assists graveplay while providing neutral destruction, which has been a popular strategy in recent formats. Regardless, there any many, many decks that can't use Ryko effectively. Same goes for cards like Skill Drain.--YamiWheeler (talkcontribs) 14:41, August 22, 2011 (UTC)

What about Black Luster Soldier - Envoy of the Beginning? I mean there are so many dark and light monsters out there and he's so flexible it's hard not to regard him as at least a semi-staple.

The sheer amount of choices here irk me

Can someone like explain the reasoning behind like.. most of these? please? Because its really confusing here. --With Dyson Sphere at my side, the universe will kneel before me. - DysonSlinky (talkcontribs) 04:08, December 31, 2013 (UTC)

If you read the top of the page, it explains the choices. Most of these cards are very good, but can have effects that clash with your Deck. An example would be "Pot of Duality"; it would be good staple card usable in any Deck, if weren't for the fact that most Deck nowadays suffer from the "no-Special Summon" clause it has. Some Decks can run it efficiently though. --UltimateKuriboh (talkcontribs) 04:48, December 31, 2013 (UTC)
Okay, then, what about Daigusto Emeral, and Laval Chain? Why are these here instead of on the actual staple page? --With Dyson Sphere at my side, the universe will kneel before me. - DysonSlinky (talkcontribs) 14:26, December 31, 2013 (UTC)-
