"Solfachord", known as "Doremichord" (ドレミコード Doremikōdo) in Japanese version is an archetype of Female Fairy Pendulum Monsters that debuted in Ancient Guardians.
Design[]
Appearance[]
The archetype musical theme and each member being aided by a miniature version of herself make it reminiscent of Ojamajo Doremi franchise, which also features witches with musical motif and aided by small fairy version of themselves.
Etymology[]
"Do-re-mi" are the first three syllables of the Solfège musical scale. Chord refers to a set of frequencies, composed of multiple musical notes.
Members[]
Solfachord | Instrument | Effect dependent on Pendulum Scale |
---|---|---|
GranSolfachord Musecia | Piano | |
DoSolfachord Cutia | Harmonica | "Solfachord" Pendulum Monsters you control gain ATK equal to 100 x their own Pendulum Scale. |
ReSolfachord Dreamia | Flute | If a "Solfachord" Pendulum Monster Card(s) you control would be destroyed by your opponent's card effect, you can destroy this card instead of 1 of those cards. |
MiSolfachord Eliteia | Double bass | You take no damage from battles involving your "Solfachord" Pendulum Monsters. |
FaSolfachord Fancia | Accordion | If your "Solfachord" Pendulum Monster would be destroyed by battle, you can destroy this card instead. |
SolSolfachord Gracia | Saxophone | If your "Solfachord" Pendulum Monster attacks, your opponent cannot activate monster effects until the end of the Damage Step. |
LaSolfachord Angelia | Trumpet | If your "Solfachord" Pendulum Monster attacks, your opponent cannot activate Spell/Trap Cards or effects until the end of the Damage Step. |
TiSolfachord Beautia | Harp | You can target 1 face-up Effect Monster or Spell/Trap your opponent controls; this turn, banish it when it leaves the field. |
DoSolfachord Coolia | Violin | You can target up to 2 face-up cards your opponent controls; negate its effects until the end of your opponent's turn. |
Playing style[]
Level 4 or lower members all have the following Pendulum Effect: "Pendulum Summons of your "Solfachord" Pendulum Monsters cannot be negated."
Level 5 or higher members all have the following Pendulum Effect: "Your opponent cannot activate a Spell/Trap Card, or monster effect, when your "Solfachord" Pendulum Monster(s) is Pendulum Summoned."
Each "Solfachord" Pendulum Monster has an effect that depends on a certain parity of Pendulum Scale in its user's control, which will always be the same parity as their own Pendulum Scale. However, the first effects of "TiSolfachord Beautia" and "DoSolfachord Coolia" can be activated even without control of a Pendulum Scale, though will be lesser than with control of the correct parity of Pendulum Scale.
