Ruben Penaranda is an American player and the 2024 World Champion. He had qualified for the tournament via the Worlds Qualifying Points Playoff at the WCQ North America 2024. Being the reigning Champion, he is set to return to the tournament in 2025.
He has also won two TEAM YCSs (Sao Paulo 2023 and San Jose 2024). Both of these wins happened alongside Kamal Crooks and Pak Pamornsut, making them the first players to win two 3v3 YCSs in the exact same team constellation.
He also made second place at two solo YCSs (Bogota 2022 and Rio de Janeiro 2024) and has topped a few other events.
