Mill is an unofficial term for sending cards from the top of a Deck to the Graveyard.

Milling the opponent's Deck can be done to thin out their resources or force them into losing via Deck out. Milling the player's own Deck is often done to use the effects of cards in the Graveyard. The term "mill" has since been extended to include banishing from the top of the Deck.

Trivia[]

The term Mill comes from the Millstone card in Magic: The Gathering.
