A Maximum Summon (マキシマム
Mechanics[]
The turn player can Special Summon a Maximum Monster from their hand, to the player's side on the field in Attack Position, composed of three pieces (left [L], central and right [R], in that order). Such a monster is treated to be in Maximum Mode, and unlocks its effects and Maximum ATK.
As Maximum Summoning is a form of Special Summon, Tributes are not needed for monsters of Level 5 or above. However, if the player already has monsters on the field, they must be sent to the Graveyard as part of the Maximum Summon. Despite having three monsters on the field, the player is treated to have only one monster, but the monsters' effects can be activated individually. If an effect would send the Maximum Mode Maximum Monster to another location, all three cards go to that location. The individual pieces can be Normal Summoned properly from the hand (as if it were any other kind of monster), in which case the card will be Summoned but will not be in Maximum Mode.
