A Match consists of three Duels.

The first player to win two of the three Duels is declared the winner. Between rounds a player is permitted to exchange cards in his/her Main Deck with cards in his/her Side Deck.

In some tournaments if the outcome of the 3 duels results in a Draw, or if the round's time limit is exceeded with no winner, Sudden Death rules are introduced. In these duels a player loses as soon as they lose any life points.

Some cards, like "Victory Dragon", can end a match in one attack. This is called a Match-ending attack. All of them are banned, either by Format limitations or by the text on the bottom.
