After Yusuke Fujiwara's parents died, the Duel Spirit Honest appeared to Yusuke and promised to protect him.
After Yusuke's disappearances in the Abandoned Dorm, Honest took on the appearance of Yusuke and continued to attend Duel Academy in his place.
Honest became targeted by Trueman, but was saved by Jaden Yuki. In an attempt to protect his identity, Honest attempted to hypnotize Jaden into thinking they had been long term friends. Jaden managed to prevent himself being hypnotized, using power he obtained from Yubel. Honest flees after Jaden asks who he is.
While looking up information on Yusuke Fujiwara, Axel Brodie finds there no student enrolled in Duel Academy under this name, but the name is listed under students who disappeared in the Abandoned Dorm.
He later reappears in the Abandoned Dorm's Duel Arena, where Jaden identifies him as Honest. Honest is destroyed by Trueman as he sacrifices himself to help Jaden. After his sacrifice, Jaden is given the "Honest" card to use in his rematch against Trueman.
Honest later appeared to Yusuke-possessed by Nightshroud and tried to convince Yusuke to remember the past, when he had friends. Yusuke denies having memory of Honest and such events.
After Jaden defeats Yusuke, Honest exorcises Nightshroud from Yusuke's body.
While in disguise as Yusuke, Honest possessed a variety of occult powers ranging from teleportation to pyrokinesis. He also had the power of supernatural hypnotism.
