Forum:Xyz Materials Conflict

Alright; with two users brought this issue up; said that Xyz Materials have to be banish if either "Banisher of the Light/Radiance" or "Macro Cosmos" are face-up on the field, reckless which controller they are in.

To my knowledge, I had been fought with couple duelists at DuelingNetwork and had Admin back them up; said that Xyz Materials still sending to the Graveyard (with "Macro Cosmos" being face-up both time).

So what's wrong with the logical of today people who think about Xyz Materials have to be banished or forcing to the Graveyard reckless the situation? Last time I checked; Xyz Materials are no "Monster" while they are in Xyz Material Zone - Xyz Reborn proved this well at same time all Continuous Trap Cards that turned itself into Monster when activated... --FredCat 19:37, January 23, 2012 (UTC)

Yes but Macro Cosmos doen't banish only monsters, it banishes all cards. So even xyz reborn can be banished. And all xyz materials are cards, right? And all cards get banished instead of being sent to the grave.--Hyuga (talk • contribs) 19:50, January 23, 2012 (UTC)

So I was Chatting in Yugioh Live chat and Deltaneos was there and he said even if there is a "Macro Cosmos" or "Banisher Of Light/Radiance" the materials still get send to graveyard but yet under "Xyz Summon" Ruling it says otherwise I am so confused.--Hawks777 12:10, January 23, 2012 (USA) [20:10, January 23, 2012 (UTC)]

Hawks, it was me who responded about that... you're just got your eye crossed for minute, so don't worry. And for D-Neos, that's what I thought - Xyz Materials are in their "own" space, not considering being on field and not a monster at all, they are "behind" the Xyz Monster. --FredCat 22:36, January 23, 2012 (UTC)

Macro Cosmos, Banisher of the Light and Banisher of the Radiance do not care where the cards came from, only that they are cards. Last I checked, all XYZ materials are cards. They should be removed from play. Detaching is definitely sending to the graveyard, as Dandylion's effect activates when detached. Now, if this was Dimensional Fissure, they would not be banished, as XYZ materials are not MONSTER cards. That's just my two cents. 129.1.193.133 (talk) 23:10, January 23, 2012 (UTC)

No, I'm sorry if my wording was off, the action of detaching is a function that normally sends to the graveyard, which means that those cards would be banished by the effect of Macro and friends. It doesn't get around Macro. 129.1.193.133 (talk) 23:16, January 23, 2012 (UTC)

Over at my FAQ, I have OCG rulings which specifically states what happens.

• If "D.D. Survivor" was used as an Xyz Material for an Xyz Monster and then Detached for the activation of an effect while "Macro Cosmos" was active, "D.D. Survivor" will not activate because it was not "face-up on your side of the Field". If it was "D.D. Scout Plane", then it will activate because it only cares about being Banished, unlike "D.D. Survivor", it does not care that it was not on the field.
• When you activate an Xyz Monster's effect and detach an Xyz Material, the Xyz Material is sent to the Graveyard.

If "Banisher of the Radiance"/"Macro Cosmos" is on the field, the Xyz Material will be Banished.

If "Dimensional Fissure" is on the field, the Xyz Material is sent to the Graveyard. This is because Xyz Material are not treated as monsters.

• If an Xyz Monster is destroyed while it has Xyz Materials.

If "Banisher of the Radiance"/"Macro Cosmos" is on the field, the Xyz Monster and the Xyz Materials will be Banished.

If "Dimensional Fissure" is on the field, the Xyz Monster is Banished, but the Xyz Materials will be sent to the Graveyard. This is because Xyz Material are not treated as monsters.
