If I use the effect of "Wind-Up Zenmaister" onto one of my Trap Monsters, what would happen? I believe that the Trap would be set but would have nothing happen during the End Phase. --LordGeovanni- (Talk To Me) *Kupo* 04:59, March 9, 2012 (UTC)
Well, it's a trap that is summoned as a monster, so I believe that it would be treated as such. Since it is considered a monster, it would be set in the monster card zone, not the trap zone, meaning that the full effect of Zenmaister would apply. - No, Trap Monsters are considered in the Spell/Trap Zone at the same time as they are in the Monster Zone. If they are set or "sent face-down", they return to the Spell/Trap Zone and do not take up a Monster Zone any longer. --LordGeovanni- (Talk To Me) *Kupo* 05:32, March 9, 2012 (UTC)
- Check Forum:Trap monster questions. you should try finding in the forum search first. 24.83.215.20 (talk) 06:31, March 9, 2012 (UTC)
- Overall, when it's flipped down, it goes back to the Spell & Trap Card Zone, and you can activate it later again. 24.83.215.20 (talk) 06:33, March 9, 2012 (UTC)
You are all not understanding my question. I may have not been clear enough. "Wind-Up Zenmaister" forces a monster face-down. At the end of the turn, it forces the monster face-up. Trap Monsters can be forced face-down. They return to the Spell/Trap Zone. My question is focusing on the second part. Does the effect of "Wind-Up Zenmaister" disappear because the monster is no longer on the field or does the effect of "Wind-Up Zenmaister" still activate because the card or target still is on the field. I see two possibilities:
- "Wind-Up Zenmaister" does not have the End Phase effect occur because there is no monster face-down due to its effect.
- "Wind-Up Zenmaister" does activate its effect and the card in the Spell/Trap Zone is destroyed because it had a force activation when it couldn't be activated. (the turn that it was Set).
Both seem possible. Possible enough for a Judge to rule that way. --LordGeovanni- (Talk To Me) *Kupo* 08:00, March 9, 2012 (UTC)
- Doesn't the OCG lore say, During the End Phase, flip the selected monster...
- Which makes it comparable to Book of Eclipse?
- So, during the End Phase, it does nothing. -Falzar FZ- (talk page|useful stuff) 08:30, March 9, 2012 (UTC)
- You still think I can read Japanese? Anyway, thank you for that answer. For all else, the card does say "it" during the End Phase effect instead of "that card/monster" so that is why I had this question. --LordGeovanni- (Talk To Me) *Kupo* 09:03, March 9, 2012 (UTC)
- Idk, someone else reading this might know, so doesn't necessarily have to be you though.
- Anyways, there technically is no "Attack Position" in the Spell/Trap Zone, and it wouldn't move into the Monster Card Zone unless it is Special Summoned by it's own effect, and Zenmaister doesn't Special Summon it.
- So by that, it would also come to the conclusion of, it would do nothing during the End Phase. -Falzar FZ- (talk page|useful stuff) 09:19, March 9, 2012 (UTC)
