I've been away from YGO for about 2 years I think. (When Rescue Rabbit and Tour guide were the hot stuff). I come back and see everyone just Cursing the hell out of those Dragon Ruler decks. Sorry if my question seems stupid but, what is it that makes this deck so broken? (I hope It doesn't summon Walking Solemn Judgment)

Also I checked on DN (I hope it is still relevant), How is this deck even playable with 4 cards banned and another 4 limited?. LaserGhost (talkcontribs) 05:41, June 27, 2014 (UTC)

They never die if there's enough resources, and when all of their keys cards were unaffected, there were ALWAYS more resources as they'd search themselves out when banished as the costs to summon another. They make Rank 7 monsters, which are some of the most powerful in the game, with ease, can be sent to the graveyard with ease, and can search from almost anywhere. There's usually a play you can do with them. If I remember righty, the key build right now is the Hieratic Rulers. Don't quote me on all this though, seeing as I just took a glance at your statement and decided to answer in some manner.Sanokal K-T (talkcontribs) 06:00, June 27, 2014 (UTC)
So are they dead now? Or still playable? Or still broken? --LaserGhost (talkcontribs) 06:11, June 27, 2014 (UTC)

Broken? Probably not quite anymore. And no, they don't summon Laggia, to answer your original question. Six-Winged Solemn requires rapid summoning of Dinosaur-Type monsters for Xyz Materials, which no variant of Rulers can really do without taking up space. Thus Laggia is the sole property of its rightful allegiance, Evol. (couldn't resist.) Sanokal K-T (talkcontribs) 06:15, June 27, 2014 (UTC)

In the OCG, they are still topping tournies (they have a full set of daddies to work with there) in the TCG they are not nearly as dangerous as other things, but they still exist. everyone wants these things banned so that everything they GOT banned can come off the list.DreadKaiser (talkcontribs) 07:09, June 27, 2014 (UTC)

The deck is just absolutely broken. They never stop coming back, deplete your resources to the point where you run out just to get them off the field, only for them to come back again the turn after, and they got completely balanced cards like Gold Sarcophagus, Sacred Sword of the Seven Stars, Debris Dragon, and Dragon Ravine forbidden or limited in their place. Stratos was banned for "holding balanced cards on the list in his place" like E-Call, A HERO Lives, Malicious, and Duality, and for creating OTK's in HERO decks. If He's not allowed to exist in the game, then there is no excuse as to why these super-Stratos should be allowed to exist either. Dragon Rulers defined every format since their release in some way, shape, or form, are the strongest non-FTK deck ever, and hold back twice as many cards Stratos ever did. Don't call me salty or anything unless you can actually counter-argument that. They are degenerate and deserve to be banned. Ninety-eight (talkcontribs) 07:35, June 27, 2014 (UTC)
Ok ok, I have yet to encounter one, but I doubt they would be as annoying as that Karakuri Deck I played against, guy had first turn, took like 10 minutes, got 3 synchs out, I could only set 1 card. Then on his next turn, he got out another synch and OTK'd me. --LaserGhost (talkcontribs) 08:37, June 27, 2014 (UTC)
You'd be surprised at what Rulers do in the mid-game. --Dark Ace SP (TalkPage) 14:15, June 27, 2014 (UTC)
Yes, Perhaps i need to get my butt handed to me by one so i can join you in hating them, but from reading effects, isn't bringing them back over and over and over too costy? But atleast now I know why Super Rejuvenation is banned (there is that exodia FTK deck, but since when is exodia relevant in bans?) --LG Talk 15:40, June 27, 2014 (UTC)
To a degree, yes, but you're not going to bring them back every turn, after you set up the grave, you'll bring maybe only 1-2 out in a turn, and most likely, you're going to use them to make Synchros like Stardust Dragon or Xyz monsters like Mecha Phantom Beast Dracossack. Also, Soul Charge as a card allows them to make Xyz and Synchro plays without using up resources. However, to be honest, it's not that I hate their play-style, as they kinda remind of Plant-Synchro of old, but it's rather they were kept alive and more fair cards were hit to keep them alive. Gold Sarcophagus was Unlimited for years and then Rulers made Gold Sarc a Universal Dragon search card, same with Sacred Sword of Seven Stars. --Dark Ace SP (TalkPage) 15:53, June 27, 2014 (UTC)

Yeah, the ban on Gold Sarc did seem kinda random. --LG Talk 16:30, June 27, 2014 (UTC)
