  • Ragnarok: Why is this one broken? Return from the Different Dimension. You activate Return and chain Ragnarok, and the latter wipes your opponent's field while the former allows you to bring the "cost" back. It's amazing.
  • Negative Energy Generator: Buffing Armageddon Knight to 4200 ATK? No thank you.
  • The Pillager: You shouldn't even have to ask about this one.
  • Magical Trick Mirror: Wow. This is just amazingly OP'd.
  • Card of Demise: Likewise. This thing is insane draw power. Runer5h 22:53, November 27, 2009 (UTC)Runer5h
  • Golden Castle of Stromberg: Draining opponent's deck by half each turn, enforce your and your opponent's monsters to attack no matter what is going on. --FredCat100 22:56, November 27, 2009 (UTC)
    • Though in-universe it is intentionally made to be this broken. --Gadjiltron 02:05, November 28, 2009 (UTC)
      • Actually, in-universe it's supposed to drain your own deck; Zigfried altered the card so that it would drain the opponent's. Danny Lilithborne 03:49, November 28, 2009 (UTC)

    • But, which sane person would actually want to play this? I love how it actually says the soul of the loser is forfeit to the winner...--SantaOrc26 05:28, February 10, 2010 (UTC)
  • Card of Sanctity, anime version. SICK. No wonder it was nerfed like crazy when it made it to real life.
  • Ghost Convert: Seriously, just think of all the things you can do with this.
  • Earthbound Immortal Wiraqocha Rasca, anime version. Drop your opponent's LP to 1. Yes, sure, you miss your Battle Phase, but just follow up with a burn effect!
  • Temper of Vai Mahse: So far, I don't see any specific cost for this.
  • Blackwing Treasure: Oh. My. God. Please, Konami, don't make this into a real card. --Gadjiltron 02:05, November 28, 2009 (UTC)
    • I would pay Konami to make that real. --Reimu-H 11:49, December 1, 2009 (UTC)
    • This card is barely as broken as Destiny Draw or better yet Solar Recharge --ME!!!!!!!!!! 08:34, January 8, 2010 (UTC)
    • Scratch that. They made this into a real card indeed, but with enough downsides that won't overly break the decktype. --Gadjiltron 11:55, January 25, 2010 (UTC)
  • Philosopher's Stone - Sabatiel is pretty broken if you use it in a fairy deck man. That way you can protect your life points (Winged Kuriboh), gain some life points though some specific fairy abilities, regain some powerful spells, then multiply one of your monster ATK by ridiculous numbers.Land of dogs 02:33, November 28, 2009 (UTC)
    • That card is broken regardless of what deck you use it in. The ability to activate any Spell Card in your deck multiple times? And in the Tag Force games, it's even more OP. It lets you search ANY card in your Deck. --YamiWheeler 14:36, January 9, 2010 (UTC)
  • The original Blue-Eyes Shining Dragon seemed pretty OP ;). --Bluemoonwhitenight 02:53, November 28, 2009 (UTC)

      • Sure. Future Fusion, Dragon mirror, Gale Dolga + Phantom of Chaos, ect. And shining can destroy multiple on enemy turn.
  • Illusion Gate: destroy all your opponent's monsters and take one of theirs, all at the pesky cost of a soul. ^_^ Danny Lilithborne 03:49, November 28, 2009 (UTC)

I think Dark Sanctuary was beast. DemonGodAsura 06:44, November 28, 2009 (UTC)

Necromancy is a card which I think, if people remembered it, could be made real and legal. Plus there were some awesome combos with it in the anime (Diffusion-Wave Motion or Slifer the Sky Dragon). Battlemaniac 19:39, November 30, 2009 (UTC)

Actually, Zigfried von Schroeder used Mischief in the Kaiba Championship arc of the original anime. Runer5h 22:42, December 1, 2009 (UTC)Runer5h

Why did nobody thimk of Aetonix Flame ?It's effect makes Raigeki and Monster Reborn look cute like a certain card with a bowtie with a horrible power.(pun intended)115.135.211.42 03:26, December 5, 2009 (UTC)

Because it can't be splashed in any deck. --Reimu-H 11:43, December 5, 2009 (UTC)

Celestial Sword - Eatos anyone? sure i'll up my already huge monster to 5000 attack, sounds great!, also The Winged Dragon Of Ra was crazy good as wellJabari Out 03:43, December 5, 2009 (UTC)Jabari_Out

don't forget about how most of the cards from the american series one exagerated a cards effect such as COTH and how it brought back every creature that was destroyed which in the series made the creatures "invincible"

Obviously it's Catapult Turtle in the anime. Yugi used it to destroy the floatation ring on Castle of Dark Illusions and have it crash into the opponent's monsters. ^_^ 75.175.23.137 09:34, December 19, 2009 (UTC)Sephilli

  • "With my Catapult Turtle I can launch my Dragon Champion at your castle, shattering its floatation ring, thereby causing it to collapse on top of your monsters." --Gadjiltron 15:48, December 19, 2009 (UTC)
  • Big Shield Gardna. 2600 DEF on a Level 4 monster, and NO DOWNSIDE (except if it's the Ceremonial Battle, or Yami and Kaiba vs. Dartz). --GoldenSandslash15 04:09, December 21, 2009 (UTC)
    • I don't remember, but was it ever been on the field long enough to have that negative effect demonstrated in the manga/anime? Also, there's "Destiny Hero - Defender" which has a higher defense and in a mill deck actually works in your favor, and it's a real card. Danny Lilithborne 05:09, December 21, 2009 (UTC)
      • Yes, yes it was. During the Ceremonial Battle, Yugi attacked Big Shield Gardna with Summoned Skull, taking 100 damage and making Gardna switch to attack by its own effect. It was then destroyed by Curse of Dragon.PoirotH 05:12, December 21, 2009 (UTC)
        • A similar thing happened in the Yami vs. Kaiba vs. Dartz duel. Dartz declared an attack against Kaiba's Different Dimension Dragon using Orichalcos Malevolence. Kaiba activated Attack Guidance Barrier to redirect the attack to Yami's Big Shield Gardna. This dealt Dartz 1200 damage, but Dartz negated the damage with Orichalcos Kyutora. Big Shield Gardna then switched into Attack Position, but Yami put it back in Defense Position after Dartz's turn ended, and Kaiba took his turn. So, in the end, there was no downside, because it never battled while it was in Attack Position.--GoldenSandslash15 18:23, December 21, 2009 (UTC)
          • What I meant was, has it ever been shown without its negative effect in the manga/anime? Danny Lilithborne 01:58, December 22, 2009 (UTC)
            • I don't know, but I know that the card itself was shown to be yellow (which may or may not mean Normal Monster, such as the case of Flame Swordsman). Just from memory though, I don't think that we ever found out if it had an effect or not, outside of those two cases. I'm probably wrong though, as it has been a while since I've watched the original YGO anime.--GoldenSandslash15 04:42, December 22, 2009 (UTC)

The anime and manga version of Copycat] is pretty broken to me.It can copy any card on the opponent's field or graveyard.Remember how it copied Life Force(vs Paradox Brothers) and Metalmorph(vs Bandit Keith)?Jason Ng 10:18, December 27, 2009 (UTC)

  • Actually, in the case of Para and Dox, it copied Ryoku. Speaking of which, that is broken. --GoldenSandslash15 01:01, December 28, 2009 (UTC)

Ops.sorry, missed that.Judgement of Anubis, anyone?Blow up all the opponent's monsters and inflict Direct Damage equal to half the combined ATK to the opponent's LP when they use a Spell Card.(used by Bald Guy against Joey when the latter activates Giant Trunade)Jason Ng 13:14, December 28, 2009 (UTC)

  • What about Multiply? Sure, I'll take an infinite number of monsters. At least they fixed it in GX. --GoldenSandslash15 03:34, December 29, 2009 (UTC)
Better yet...
  • Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon used Blue-Eyes Ultimate Burst on Kuriboh!
  • It doesn't effect enemy Kuriboh...
Remember - not only did Multiply give Yugi an army of Kuribohs, they couldn't even be ATTACKED. Runer5h 05:41, December 29, 2009 (UTC)Runer5h
Actually, they could. But, they were in defense mode, so he lost no life points, and due to their infinite-ness, they were just appearing faster than Kaiba could take them out.

--GoldenSandslash15 19:06, December 29, 2009 (UTC)

Meanwhile, Seven Kids. Use this with Rescue Cat, and you can destroy 2 monsters of your opponent's and deal a ton of burn damage! Runer5h 00:52, December 30, 2009 (UTC)Runer5h

Climax Hour, anyone? Sure, I'll just use A Feather of the Phoenix and summon Fushioh Richie/other insanely hard to summon monsters without any kind of cost. Seriously, that was wasted on Elemental Hero Neos Battlemaniac 16:31, January 1, 2010 (UTC)

I can't believe I missed Revival Jam and Card of Safe Return in the anime.Cannot be destroyed and draws 3 cards each time the opponent try.115.135.66.59 04:19, January 4, 2010 (UTC)

  • Yes, but that combo is what caused Strings to lose. If anyone played that combo on me, I would just keep attacking their "unbeatable" defense, and cause them to deck out. Very easy to get around. --GoldenSandslash15 03:57, January 5, 2010 (UTC)
  • Yes, because you can really deck out an opponent that draws 3 cards per revival in 1 turn. Even if you miraculously had 5 monsters, that's only 15 cards, and then they'd easily destroy you the next turn with all the options they had drawn. It's not "easy to get around" and it definately was broken. --YamiWheeler 18:49, January 9, 2010 (UTC)

The most epically broken *beep* card in the Anime: Crush Card Virus.Altyrell 20:16, January 6, 2010 (UTC)

all those cards would make you win (or be close 2 win? but how about that stop you from loosin when yout life drops to zero: Infernity Zero, Divine Serpent and Relay Soul--Pato M 05:55, January 8, 2010 (UTC)

  • Doubting on those cards. Just pop off a removal card (Even Compulsory Evacuation Device works!) and your opponent loses immediately. --Gadjiltron 11:35, January 8, 2010 (UTC)
    • Divine Serpent always seemed stupid to me. Compulsory Evacuation Device is a stupidly easy way to remove it. Runer5h 22:19, January 8, 2010 (UTC)Runer5h
      • Indeed. Although it could possibly see play in an Infernity deck.......... it tosses your hand to Summon itself, then puts cards in the Graveyard for Gun, Mirage, and Necromancer to bring back. Oh, and the infinate ATK is nice as well.--Akiza Izayoi 23:37, January 8, 2010 (UTC)
        • You and I both know that Infernities don't need that - you can use Dark Grepher and such to empty your hand, remember? Runer5h 02:54, January 9, 2010 (UTC)Runer5h

Oh, btw: Ruklamba the Spirit King. Block an OTK, follow up with some crazy swarm. Hell, you don't even need to have to stop an OTK with it: just use Mystic Tomato! This would be broken in Zombie decks. Runer5h 03:04, January 9, 2010 (UTC)Runer5h

The combo of Revival Jam and Card of Safe Return will make an Exodia deck invincible.Jason Ng 01:01, January 14, 2010 (UTC)

What about Graceful Dice and Skull Dice? Don't forget about those. --GoldenSandslash15 22:44, January 16, 2010 (UTC)

  • Graceful Dice has the limitation of being used on monsters with 500 ATK or lower, and only once per turn. Skull Dice, on the other hand, will pave the way for very unusual LP counts. --Gadjiltron 06:51, January 17, 2010 (UTC)
    • In the dub version, Graceful Dice's downside was never mentioned. So, I was unaware of it. Even so, a 500 ATK monster with the potential to go to 3000 with one card effect is nuts. --GoldenSandslash15 03:00, January 18, 2010 (UTC)
      • Oh, I see. Still, it can backfire very badly for you too. Just consider Dice Jar, where you can do up to 6000 damage in one shot, but have the same done back to you. Roll a 1 or 2 with this, and... yeah. --Gadjiltron 11:36, January 18, 2010 (UTC)

Energy Drain as well.--Akiza Izayoi 06:07, January 17, 2010 (UTC)

Dark Spell Regeneration, just found that.--Akiza Izayoi 06:11, January 17, 2010 (UTC)

Destiny Trigger. Use this at the beginning of the duel, and your opponent gets a 4000 burn. Use three, and they're down at just 1000 Life Points. Way too cheap. The worst part is that the card HAS to activate sooner or later. It only destroys itself if it succeeds. --GoldenSandslash15 03:13, January 22, 2010 (UTC)

  • Relay Soul. Bring out any monster from your hand when you lose, ready to come back. --Akiza Izayoi 20:07, January 22, 2010 (UTC)
    • We've discussed this a bit up the page some time ago. Any removal effect (Compulsory Evac Device, anyone?) will mean an instant win then. --Gadjiltron 07:31, January 24, 2010 (UTC)
      • Right. Forgot about that.--Akiza Izayoi 17:01, January 24, 2010 (UTC)

Oh, and Power Wall. Zombie/Vayu/Lightsworn/DaD/Infernity, anyone?--Akiza Izayoi 20:13, January 22, 2010 (UTC)

  • Personally, I find Power Wall to have a bit of a hefty cost. You can save yourself from getting your LP wiped in a giant OTK, but you'll end up discarding almost all your Deck in the process, leaving you open to Deck Out. 1 card per 100 damage is a little hefty. --Gadjiltron 12:04, January 25, 2010 (UTC)

I just found Drain Strike as well. Free Piercing effect, plus gaining LP? Seems pretty broken for an Equip Card.--Akiza Izayoi 17:07, January 23, 2010 (UTC)

Determined Daredevil, use with Spirit Barrier and he's nearly invincable. --Azure Knight-Zeo 18:54, January 23, 2010 (UTC)

  • Determined Daredevil isn't that bad. It requires a Warrior-type Tuner, and Warrior-type non-Tuners, so it's decently hard to Summon. Blackwing Armor Master isn't broken, so neither is Daredevil.--Akiza Izayoi 19:33, January 23, 2010 (UTC)
    • Throw out a Kishido Spirit and some protection, like Royal Decree or Destruction Jammer and he's pretty mean though. Land of dogs 21:32, January 23, 2010 (UTC)
      • Still, Brionac or Mist Wurm can easily erase him. He's not a broken card.--Akiza Izayoi 00:14, January 24, 2010 (UTC)
      • Yep, I know, there's a difference between mean and broken. Like, Horus the Black Flame Dragon is mean, but Chaos Empereor Dragon is just plain broken. Land of dogs 02:01, January 24, 2010 (UTC)
  • Anime Jinzo. It destroys traps, not negates them, and furthermore, if it is your deck master, then it only affects your opponent's cards. Not to mention that if you add an Anime Amplifier, then not only are your traps safe, but Jinzo gains ATK like crazy! It gives Jinzo 500 ATK upon activation, and then 300 ATK each turn. I think this is how we put the "psycho" in "Android - Psycho Shocker" (Jinzo's OCG Name).--GoldenSandslash15 03:39, January 25, 2010 (UTC)
  • Deformer Cleanen's got a pretty nasty effect. Even at stats of 0/0, if it's going down everything that it's sucked up is going with it. --Gadjiltron 12:17, January 25, 2010 (UTC)
    • Scratch that. Cleanen's real life version only picks up Attack Position monsters, and can only hold one of them. That's now in the "reasonable" range. --Gadjiltron 03:18, February 16, 2010 (UTC)

Up for debate, possibly THE most broken card... Roll of Fate? Based on a dice roll, sure, but still.--Akiza Izayoi 03:41, January 26, 2010 (UTC)

That's not as broken as Sixth Sense, which is a real card. --GoldenSandslash15 04:46, January 26, 2010 (UTC)

I think Roll of Fate is better. You get both benifits, the drawpower AND the mill. Plus, it's a Spell.--Akiza Izayoi 17:41, January 26, 2010 (UTC)

Invincible Demise Lord. I'm finding a lot of broken cards.--Akiza Izayoi 19:05, January 26, 2010 (UTC)

Nibelung's Treasure/Nibelung's Ring. Control your opponent's field a bit, while grabbing 5 new draws?--Akiza Izayoi 19:39, January 26, 2010 (UTC)

I'm surprised that nobody has mentioned Sin World (which is, as of now, anime-only). --GoldenSandslash15 00:13, January 27, 2010 (UTC)

I don't see how Sin World is broken. It would only work in a Sin deck, and plus it's a Field Spell, easily eliminated.--Akiza Izayoi 00:23, January 27, 2010 (UTC)

  • Sin World effectively eliminates all of the downsides of Sin monsters. --GoldenSandslash15 02:34, January 28, 2010 (UTC)
  • Elemental Hero Bubbleman, anime effect. You can draw two extra cards even when you have cards in your hand, all you need an empty field.--Akiza Izayoi 02:11, January 28, 2010 (UTC)

Perhaps Stardust Mirage? You can just use Destiny Hero - Diamond Dude to fulfill it's activation requirements and set up an OTK.115.134.113.159 02:37, January 28, 2010 (UTC)

White Out. This thing is OP'd by ANIME standards. Negates only your opponent's card effects... in their hand, field, and graveyard! This is BROKEN. WITH NO COST. Runer5h 23:26, January 28, 2010 (UTC)Runer5h
Agreed, that is now (in my personal opinion) the MOST Broken *ss card EVER.Altyrell 23:30, January 28, 2010 (UTC)
Hey, looks like the effect's cleared up. Not as broken as what was previously written, but still, it cuts off all forms of monster-based revival or stuff. --Gadjiltron 09:47, February 7, 2010 (UTC)

Wow, can't you read? It only negates the opponent's effects that target another card they control. It's not Skill Drain -_- ElectroBlade 14:24, February 13, 2010 (UTC)

Wow. And while we're on Episodes 94/95, let's throw in Blood Mephist.--Akiza Izayoi 01:51, January 29, 2010 (UTC)

  • Monster Register is in my opinion too "OP'ed", because, next to the anime's Crush Card, it drains the deck very fast, especially the Synchro varieities since you summon all the necessary monsters equal the level, then Synchro Summon, and *Poof*, a great number of cards gone (a Summoner Monk + Rescue Cat combo would take 20 cards max away from the deck). The user can also benefit from some of the milling too, of course, but a Judgment Dragon would cost 8 cards to be played, not to mention the extra drainage from the deck when you end the turn. Of course, I like the idea of punishing swarming by depriving the opponent of potential options.
  • Level Jar: This jar would require destruction in battle, but the effect outweighs the requirement in terms of milling and draw power. When your opponent had a swarm of monsters and they returned them and drew maybe 10+ cards, and if they don't have to discard them all, no problemo! Counter with Bubble Crash or Heavy Slump to deprive them of the options they might have!
  • Finally, I am not sure if it's broken or not (it's weak), but Trap Sluzer is extremely useful, since Continuous Traps often have extremely great effects and might have downsides, like Royal Decree negates all traps or Light-Imprisoning Mirror negates all LIGHT monsters' effects, or even the restrictions of Gravity Bind. With this on the field however, you don't have those disadvantages, giving you an edge! What's more unfair than being able to activate your traps when your opponent can't, or attack while they can't?

115.134.71.216 04:05, January 29, 2010 (UTC)

--Akiza Izayoi 05:55, January 30, 2010 (UTC)

  • A little iffy on Snow Fairy though. It may be a one-sided monster version of Anti-Spell Fragrance, but it's vulnerable to monster removal and battle. --Gadjiltron 07:14, January 30, 2010 (UTC)

Well, she's searchable by Shining Angel, and can be backed up by Honest.--Akiza Izayoi 07:21, January 30, 2010 (UTC)

  • GX episode 166,3000 ATK &DEF, along with destroying one face up monster your opponent controls, inflicting damage to your opponent equal the destroyed monsters ATK. With its Revival ability and can't be destroyed by card effects. Destiny End Dragoon is in my opinion one of the most broke amine monsters.

only thing stopping it is removal effects.

I'll add anime version of Uria, Lord of Searing Flames to the list. It works with any traps cards, not just continuous trap cards. You can special summon Uria while trap cards are set(rather than having to be face up). You can revive Uria by discarding a trap card. Uria gains attack from any trap card(again, not just continuous trap cards). Petco 06:18, January 31, 2010 (UTC)

I don't understand how Blood Mephist can be "broken"(unless you count taking real battle damage as one of the card's effect). 300 burn damage per card isn't much, and taking 300 damage per card isn't much as well. In fact I think a lot of cards the characters in the anime uses are really underpowered(why does no one carry cards like Heavy Storm or Mirror Force? Why use a complicated card like the "anime version" of Change Destiny[where your opponents gains lifepoints or you gain damage] when you can use Mirror Force or Negate Attack?). Anyway about Blood Mephist, it's a decent burn card but I wouldn't say it's anywhere near overpowered, especially with lots of people carrying Prime Material Dragons, Lightning Vortex.
As for Blood Mephist against the current meta, Lightsworns have so many destructive effects, Blood Mephist wouldn't be on the field long enough to take advantage of its effects. Overall I'd say Blood Mephist is be a decent card but by no means broken(compared to certain other anime only cards anyway). Also of course the card itself in the actual anime is strong because players only start with 4,000 life points and everyone seems to use not so great cards(which means they would have a harder time countering Blood Mephist). Petco 07:32, February 20, 2010 (UTC)

I already mentioned Blood Memphist, not too long ago. Oh, and I think Trust Guardian counts as being broken. If you say it isn't, let's talk Brionac. Maybe Stardust Dragon? I know that the effect would leave him if you use his effect, but look at it this way. I Summon Stardust Dragon using Trust Guardian as a Tuner. Then, you attack him, normally destroying him, 3 times. That leaves my Stardust at 1300. Then, the second you use a destruction effect, I release my Stardust, getting him back at the End Phase with a full 2500.--Akiza Izayoi 03:09, February 6, 2010 (UTC)

  • Not really overpowered or broken, but exploitable. If you managed to attack and be able to destroy it 3 times (if not for Trust Guardian's effect), surely you can do it a 4th.--YamiWheeler 02:32, February 8, 2010 (UTC)
    • That's the thing thoug. A Stardust Dragon infused with Trust Guardian is able to survive 6 battles.--Akiza Izayoi 02:44, February 8, 2010 (UTC)
  • Yeah, in a perfect world, but chances are, once it starts falling into really low ATK and DEF, any monster can battle it and 'almost' destroy it, so Trust Guardian would easily run out. It's really not overpowered or broken - at least, not by my standards.--YamiWheeler 02:48, February 8, 2010 (UTC)

I think Negative Energy deserves a place on the list. Sure, i'll take a 5600 ATK Dark Armed Dragon, 6000 ATK Red Dragon Archfiend, or worse set, Blackwings.--Akiza Izayoi 08:10, February 6, 2010 (UTC)

How about Armityle, in the GX anime? Pato M 10:11, February 7, 2010 (UTC)

This one might not be broken, but it's still brutal. White Warrior - Hail the Iron Hammer. Honest provides him with a way to trump a monster every time.--Akiza Izayoi 02:29, February 8, 2010 (UTC)

I think we forgot the Earthbound Immortals, anime-style. Sure, you can attack the player directly in the anime, but they also have immunity to Spells, Traps, and aren't immediantly destroyed if their Field Spell is removed.--Akiza Izayoi 23:46, February 10, 2010 (UTC)

Agreed, and most of the time they're summoned were on D-Wheel duel, the only times that there are weakness was Misty Tredwell, Roman Godwin and One dark signer that dueled Leo and Luna. --FredCat100 00:24, February 11, 2010 (UTC)
Treasure of the Buried Spells. OTK decks would love this (not counting Magical Explosion FTKs). In fact, any deck with lots of draw power would find this great. Runer5h 03:58, February 11, 2010 (UTC)Runer5h
  • Black Rose Dragon, in it's first appearance. The target does not have to be in Defense mode to be dropped to 0.--Akiza Izayoi 00:52, February 13, 2010 (UTC)

Gestalt Trap. This is just amazing.--Akiza Izayoi 06:31, February 15, 2010 (UTC)

Cheapest to me is Speed World or Seal of Oricalcos.

I don't see how Speed World is that bad... and The Seal of Orichalcos was mentioned prior.--Akiza Izayoi 20:30, February 15, 2010 (UTC)
True that. Speed World is set up at the start of the Duel, so players in Riding Duels all have to switch to Decks with Speed Spells to work with that. --Gadjiltron

Effect Shut All the fun of Effect Monsters, without the effect or monster!--Akiza Izayoi 00:35, February 16, 2010 (UTC)

Double Magical Arm Bind. Taking two of your opponent's monsters - permanently - as long as they don't attack or change battle positions. You can still use them for tributes, synchro summons, etc. Runer5h 17:01, February 16, 2010 (UTC)Runer5h

Infernity Burst, Hi I have 5 infernity's on my field, one face down Infernity Burst in my hand, here comes 8000 points of damage. 71.201.153.162 19:50, February 16, 2010 (UTC)

It's actually 800 damage per Infernity, not 1600. But yes, that is broken. With the swarm power of Infernities, you can easily achieve 4000 damage with this card alone.--Akiza Izayoi 20:03, February 16, 2010 (UTC)

No, see I said one face down card is Infernity Burst and one in hand. That equals 8000, 4000 apiece. 71.201.153.162 01:43, February 17, 2010 (UTC)

Actually, Virus Cannon in the Anime was pretty bad too. When Kaiba used it against Ishizu in the BC Finals, if I remembered correctly, It caused the opponent to send either 10 or all of there spell cards in there deck to the grave.--Phoenix25 00:32, February 17, 2010 (UTC)

Justice Bringer is pretty good. No Judgment Dragon, Dark Armed Dragon, Brionac, or anything.--Akiza Izayoi 02:25, February 23, 2010 (UTC)

I gotta say Get Your Game On! is a pretty damn broken card. Sure it's easy enough to work around through general spell/trap destruction, but I mean activating three of these gives you're puny little Elemental Hero Avian 8,000 Atk! and he's easily the weekest. Could imagine trying to square off against some of the bigger threats like Absolute Zero, and Terra Firma (2500*2=5,000*2=10,000*2=20,000) It is unlikely such a scenario would ever occur, but i mean, it would sure as hell suck if it! (lets have some fun with Battle Mania while were at it?) Sabeta Sama 22:52, February 23, 2010 (UTC)

First of all, it doesn't multiply their ATK by eight. It multiplies it by two. Second of all, this card isn't actually featured in the anime or manga - ever. It's a real card only. And finally, it's banned from official duels - it says so on the card text. Runer5h 23:15, February 23, 2010 (UTC)Runer5h

That's true, so it doesn't really belong here. Although he did say that those ATK points would be the result if he activated three of the card.--Akiza Izayoi 03:31, February 24, 2010 (UTC)

What DOES belong is "Legacy of a Hero". Great card for Heroes. Runer5h 03:51, February 24, 2010 (UTC)Runer5h

Also, Deepest Impact. Runer5h 03:53, February 25, 2010 (UTC)Runer5h

Summoning Clock. It has no restrictions - "Right, I'm gonna drop two JD and DAD." Thank goodness Twilight will never get this card. Chaos Sorcerer 20:38, February 25, 2010 (UTC)

  • Miracle Contact could really be effective. Not only does If work for the Neos Fusions, but It also works with Rainbow Neos and Elemental Hero Divine Neos. And since it returns them to the deck, you can just reuse them over again later. --Neo-Spacian Adanac 20:55, February 25, 2010 (UTC)
    • Though if you tweak the wordings a little bit, it can become nice strong support for Neos Decks. --Gadjiltron 12:18, February 26, 2010 (UTC)

Muko. This is the omni-negation card. It can negate ANY card that is played from the hand. All monsters coming from the hand, and all spell cards that aren't quick-plays, are GONE! AND this card can be used as a version of Drastic Drop Off. Runer5h 05:18, March 4, 2010 (UTC)Runer5h

Akashic Record. A bit "gambly", but it's brutal regardless.--Akiza Izayoi 01:33, March 24, 2010 (UTC)

Ape Magician.It is like a never-ending Change of Heart.115.135.67.166 01:37, March 24, 2010 (UTC)

This card will be broken in a Frog Deck:Amphibian Angel - Frog-Hael. 115.135.67.166 01:39, March 24, 2010 (UTC)

If cards from season 0 are allowed, then perhaps Blue-Eyes White Dragon's 3-Body Connection deserves a place here to :) --Bluemoonwhitenight 05:14, April 5, 2010 (UTC)

Wow...

I am awesome that this topic still alive and has massive of break-record cards. --FredCat100 01:41, March 24, 2010 (UTC)

What about Attrition? It allows your monster to beatdown on your opponent nearly everytime it battles.Only thing stopping it is monster card removal effects.Jason Ng 01:48, March 24, 2010 (UTC)

Take a look at this card:Volcanic Mine .To think that I thought Ojama Trio was annoying.Jason Ng 01:53, March 24, 2010 (UTC)

  • Though it only lasts for a turn. Ojama Trio's Tokens stick around for quite a while to stop a great swarm, while this just blocks summons for a turn. Effectiveness could vary depending on the situation. --Gadjiltron 10:37, March 24, 2010 (UTC)
Still Skill Drains your opponent for a turn, and blocks their summons as well - not counting tribute summons. Runer5h 19:54, March 24, 2010 (UTC)Runer5h
  • How aboutPhilosopher's Stone - Sabatiel? It gives the player instant access to any spell card on his/her deck up to 3 times on a row!! and the becomes an equip card with enough potential to win a duel!!( look at this scenario: Turn 1 Set Ojama Trio and set Winged Kuriboh, when your opponent kills Winged Kuriboh move PSS to your hand, Turn 2 activate Ojama Trio, then Play PSS to activate Heavy Storm, then Summon Gene-Warped Warwolf(2000), then Play PSS to activate Megamorph on Warwolf(4000), then play PSS to activate Big Bang Shot on Warwolf(4500), then equip PSS to Warwolf(18000!!) then attack any ojama token to inflict 17300 points of damage to your opponent, this also works with almost any monster, not just beatsticks, and could get even worse if you were to use PSS to search more copies of itself.)HouseholdCatDeity 03:27, April 5, 2010 (UTC)

I believe Philosopher's Stone - Sabatiel was already mentioned above.--Akiza Izayoi 03:38, April 5, 2010 (UTC)

  • I think Blackwing - Gale the Whirlwind is so broken, halving the ATK & DEF points without having it coming back ? yeah right!
  • It's already real. This is for anime-exclusive cards. That said, Stronghold Guardian is potent to the point of broken. Imagine dropping 3 of them to pump up Stone Statue of the Aztecs. That's over 9000 damage coming your way. Otherwise, it can ensure that Gladiator Beasts turtling in Defense last the battle. --Gadjiltron 09:00, April 5, 2010 (UTC)
    • Well, looks like Stronghold Guardian came into real life unedited after all, and considering what's going on right now, it's not broken anymore. Just potent. --Gadjiltron (talkcontribs) 01:46, December 9, 2010 (UTC)

Schrödinger's_Cat, Draw Paradox and many other cards that Dr. Eisenstein used. They were so confusing and weird.--Hide Head Turtle 12:55, April 5, 2010 (UTC)

Have a doubt about those cards.Card Trader is easily a better card than SC.115.135.252.167 13:37, April 7, 2010 (UTC)

Ah but think of Appropriate the wording on Draw Paradox and the cat pretty much mean you can draw until you get exactley what you need whenever you want during your opponent's turn. If they try to counter you then have a Reload set and it's all good. Oh my little contributation to this would be Mirror of Duality, use in a counter fairy deck and get out Voltanis the Adjudicator focusing only on your opponent's backrow since this destroys all monsters regardless of position, I could be wrong about the timing for the summon but still being able to inflict up to 5000 as a surprise Raigeki isn't shabby (with Voltanis leaving your opponent at possibly 200 is silly). 18:45, October 12, 2011

  • ^_^" ah that Voltanis thing is a completely stupid suggestion on my part lol, you'd have nothing to tribute so forget that but ah if only it worked like ceasefire, fine free trap Dark Hole is still good enough.

Darkness Seed

Plop it to the grave in any way, say with Foolish Burial or Armageddon Knight. It revives two turns later as an indestructible LP replenisher. Runer5h 00:33, May 19, 2010 (UTC)Runer5h

A bit too lazy to go searching for a broken card at the moment, but I'd like to offer some praise to Runer for dusting off this topic.--Akiza Izayoi 01:13, May 19, 2010 (UTC)

Sin Cyber End Dragon anyone? It acts just like the regular Cyber End, but has much easier summoning conditions. Plus, there's no risk of a dead draw since the regular Cyber End Dragon can just sit in the Extra Deck. Go ahead, give it the restrictions that Sin Blue Eyes and Red Eyes have, it's still a 4000 atk beatstick that can do piercing damage.

Aaaand it's nerfed to a non-piercer in real life. --Gadjiltron (talkcontribs) 15:03, September 25, 2011 (UTC)

Legendary Dragons

I think we forgot about a few VERY broken cards.

Well The Eye of Timaeus, The Fang of Critias, and The Claw of Hermos are just specific Polymerizations themselves. They require the Fusion Material to be on the field which actually makes them weaker then most fusion catalysts in their own right.

Legend of Heart is undoubtedly broken as it summons three monsters with 2800 ATK. By themselves The Eye of Timaeus allows you use any Spell card, which is broke, but was that ever even seen in the anime? Where does that even come from?

The Fang of Critias allows you to activate Trap Cards from your Graveyard when it battles. As long as you still have to meet activation conditions and pay costs of the trap cards that would be okay.

For Legendary Knight Hermos the effect to redirect attacks and multiply the ATK is the only thing broken about him.

For the fusions:

Amulet Dragon: Would require at least three cards to summon it (a means of getting Dark Magician onto the field, Dark Magician himself, and The Eye of Timaeus). Can get a very high ATK, but with few other effects would not be that useful. I think Five-Headed Dragon would still be better.

Dark Magician Girl the Dragon Knight: Also requires at least three cards to summon it. It's effect is like Ally of Justice Catastor only it doesn't care about attribute but requires a discard. It has higher ATK but isn't much better and is more difficult to summon. I don't think it's broken.

Doom Virus Dragon: Basically allows you to preform Crush Card Virus's effect the turn that it is set, but only affects the field. Not really that broken in my opinion. With Crush Card Virus Forbidden it would only be playable in Traditional Format, and even then Crush Card Virus is Limited.

Tyrant Burst Dragon: Not much was shown about this monster aside from summoning the following monster (note: the stats and effect on this Wiki's page seem to be either made up or from the following monster).

Blue-Eyes Tyrant Dragon: Difficult to summon requiring you to first play The Fang of Critias sending a Tyrant Wing to the Graveyard to fusion summon Tyrant Burst Dragon then sending it and a Blue-Eyes White Dragon you control to the Graveyard to summon it. Can hit the opponent for heavy damage as it can attack all of the opponent's monster. I personally think Blue-Eyes decks need this though. They have over shadowed by Five-Headed Dragon.

Mirror Force Dragon: It's effect was very vague in the anime. Going by this Wiki's interpretation it doesn't seem to bad. It would only do alot of damage if your opponent had alot of Attack Position monsters with low ATK. But how often does that happen? With Mirror Force Limited it would be difficult to summon.

Big Bang Dragon Blow: Definitely broken. Tribute one Dragon to nuke the opponent's field and Life Points. Then again Big Bang Blow was broken also.

Goddess Bow: Doubles the equipped monster's ATK. The other effects arn't that meaningful so it's basicly a Megamorph that requires two cards to pull off but without a downside. Not that broken.

Red-Eyes Black Dragon Sword: Takes at least three cards to play it and another to equip it to. Has the potential to boosts a Warrior-Type monster by a huge amount, but only if you can also special summon alot of Dragon-Types. Would be hard to play in the Meta so I don't think it would be that broken.

Rocket Hermos Cannon: Destroys all of your opponents monsters and inflicts damage to equal to their ATK to the opponent at the cost of not attacking that turn. Can kinda see how it might be overpowered.

Time Magic Hammer: Has a very vague effect. During your opponents next Standby Phase after it has been played it seems to remove from play all of your opponents monsters one by one. In each of your opponents following Standby Phases one of them returns to your opponents field in the same order they were removed. You can't take advantage of it's effect the turn you play it, and its usefulness would largely be decided by how the effects would work. --205.122.232.250 (talk) 03:34, December 2, 2010 (UTC)

Revival Jam and Card of safe Return are insane. Infinite cards is ridiculous. Exodia Obliterate!! The far most broken card is seal of orchlinos you can lose your soul O_o

  • Resurrection Tribute deserves also a small mention here. It was only used randomly in the anime without too much focus on it but daaaamn. Easy activation requirement, can special summon a Nomi-monster from the graveyard like Hamon and destroys a monster on your opponent's side of the field? wow.
One question though, where does the whole deal with Climax Hour come from? It was never shown to summon anything ignoring the summoning condition and I don't think anything was ever mentioned Poseidome (talkcontribs) 16:59, December 8, 2010 (UTC)

Apple of Frigg's anime effect was really crazy. Works like a Gorz on steroids since it can absorb damage from more than one attack, and generate an even bigger token as a result. What's more, you get all your LP back! It's fortunate that it got nerfed to dealing with only one attack when it entered real life. --Gadjiltron (talkcontribs) 01:48, December 9, 2010 (UTC)

Ooh, it revived itself somehow. But by this point in the anime, I've kinda lost track and forgotten several card effects... Anyway, while possibly not very broken but more towards quite potent, Submersible Carrier Aero Shark's anime effect is far, far superior to its real-life version, being a two-use Des Koala. --Gadjiltron (talkcontribs) 15:11, September 25, 2011 (UTC)

Chaos End Ruler -Ruler of the Beginning and the End---絶望 (talkcontribs) 16:41, September 28, 2011 (UTC)

Broken to the point where its power is recognised in-universe is thus Forbidden there, too. --Gadjiltron (talkcontribs) 02:00, September 29, 2011 (UTC)

[1]Harpie Lady Phoenix Formation: Considering how Harpie's swarm the field you just need to wait for your opponent to have a full field which with certain archetypes (Dark World comes to mind) shouldn't take long and can result in a OTK.

I wouldn't mind seeing a nerfed version of this and some of the other Harpie support cards Mai used in Dawn of the Duel (I believe Harpie's still don't have nearly as much support as they should have), but I can't see that happening anytime soon or ever.

Of course there's a few Dawn of the Duel cards I wouldn't mind seeing made real. Mostly the Timaeus related cards, but especially Dark Magician Girl the Dragon Knight. I just feel Dark Magician Girl has so much more potential that hasn't been met. 71.17.187.75 (talk) 04:23, September 30, 2011 (UTC).

Many of the Time Lords are pretty cheap. Namely Michion, the Time Lord, Gabrion, the Time Lord, and Sandaion, the Time Lord. Toss in Sephylon, the Ultimate Time Lord and you have a party of cheap cards. Menace13 (talkcontribs) at 22:32, October 12, 2011 (UTC)

Well, in the anime, they can't be normal summoned without a release(unless you use Z-one's traps), so that balence them a little--絶望 (talkcontribs) 17:48, October 13, 2011 (UTC)

black wing armed wing can't be destroyed, no battle damage and can make your opponents attack and defence 0. total destruction.
