Forum:The easy way to get back into the game?

Hello!

I'm a long time duelist that just quit a few years ago. Right now I'm thinking of playing again, but I'm completely lost as of the meta and my deck is obviously outdated by now. I really don't know where to start with, I used to play spirits back when ultimate offering was unlimited and my last deck used agents. I'm really worried about how fast the game is, last time I played a fire fist deck didn't let me do anything. I enjoy spirits -I used to run a spirits + mist valley deck- and I also like some fairies -have a few cool ones and many copies of honest- and dragons -I have some cool dragons like LADD, BLue Eyes, triHorned dragon, Tyrant dragon and Trident Dragion- I also have lots and lots of warriors and a few warrior synchros. I'm looking for a certain Timmy feel, but that doesn't feel like cookie cutter, I suffer from special snowflake syndrome for my decks.

But yeah, I'm completely blank. So can anybody tell me the meta in a few quick points?(What works, what doesn't work, what kind of things are popular and stuff?) Also some card suggestions or special packs to get back into the game that could work with what I already have? (I have like a $20 budget)

The meta can be summed up in a few words: Don't let your opponent play the game

Go first, use floodgate to stop any action they take, OTK next turn with the exact same Rank 4 Xyz lineup in every deck ever.

Thats what the game looks like. if you want to have fun, go elsewhere. if you want to win without any real skill needed, Performage & Performapal.

As dark as Dread's comment was, it's absolutely correct. The game has become a toxic, twisted, nightmarish shadow of it's former self, where your deck is bad if you CAN'T OTK. Ok, that sounds kinda mean. Um, well assuming I'm enough of a ditz to still want to go ahead... what do you suggest to help me get back into the game that helps me use the cards I already own? A structure deck? a fancy boxed set? (I mean you are still playing. Do you?) Easy route would be the newest Structure deck, Master of Pendulum Structure Deck

Throw 3 of those together + R4&7NK toolbox and some Clowns and you are good. if you are willing to shell out some cash, Add the Dracoslayers, especially Ignister Prominence, the Blasting Dracoslayer.
