I threw this Deck together rather randomly but it performs quite well. Ever since Reborn Tengu was unlimited, I was thinking about building a Deck around him. This is the basic strategy: Use Tengu to keep field advantage while using him for Miyabi and the new Mask Change card in order to intercept your opponent's plays and inflict heavy damage. Tengu can be recycled by Quill Pen, which bounces any card on the field as a nice bonus (even your own Tenkis) and Daigusto Emeral, who can also be tributed for Miyabi. Divine Wind of Mist Valley allows for explosive plays when combo'd with Tengu and Birdman/Zephyros/Harpie Dancer.
As awesome as the Deck is, I encountered several problems while testing: It is far too slow without abusing Divine Wind of Mist Valley and unfortunately said card is limited. Also, the fact that Tengu does not trigger its effect when used for an Xyz summon greatly hurts this Deck. Last but not least being unable to recycle Tengu is basically a Death sentence, as you you can no longer abuse the best monster in the Deck.
Any suggestions on how to improve this Deck? I was thinking about throwing out Divine Wind of Mist Valley but that would take away a big part of its explosiveness. What could I replace it with? I really like this Deck but relying on a limited card is never good (before you mention it: more copies of Terraforming would rise the death-draw potential). Should I go for a more control-oriented build? Or is there another way to make it so explosive? --.:BronzeJohnson:. (talk • contribs) 19:21, February 9, 2015 (UTC)
- Instead of "Terraforming", you could use "Gold Sarcophagus" (yes, it takes 2 turns, but it won't be a dead draw, you can search other cards).
- "Winged Rhynos" is only usable with the Field, right? So why not trade it for something else, like "Elemental HERO Shadow Mist" (summon with "Monk", search the masks, summon "Number 66" and protect the Field if it's there. And why not also use the original "Mask Change"? You can use the 3 "Tengus" to summon 3 "M-HERO" in one turn), or "Kujakujaku" (mostly because "Miyabi"... Also, that Trap is good with "Lightning Chidori").
- Other ways to recycle "Tengu" are "The Transmigration Prophecy" and "Pot of Dichotomy", but not as good as the "Quill Pen". --Missign0 (talk • contribs) 04:37, February 10, 2015 (UTC)
- A bigger HERO engine with Shadow Mist sounds good. The original Mask Change only works with HEROes which is why I have not thought about it. Winged Rhynos is in there because it can combo with Divine Wind of Mist Valley and it is also a Tenki target but since it is not essential for the Deck, I could just throw him out. --.:BronzeJohnson:. If normal mask change wont work, why not Mask Change 2? Requires a discard sure but doesn't need HEROS to work. Exodius the ultimate forbidden Lord is a card that nobody really knows about that is a very solid recycler, as he shuffles not just 2 like transmigration, or 5 like dichtonomy, but ALL your in grave monsters. Also you can mask change him for Dark Law in theory, and man Dark Law is a really really nice card to have these days, he makes 'dolls and BA cry salty tearsDeathwingincarnate (talk • contribs) 00:42, February 11, 2015 (UTC)
