Okay, so are you allowed to tribute more monsters than necessary for a Ritual Summon? For example, I want to summon Legendary Flame Lord (Level 7). Can I use 2 Level 3s and a Level 8? -- Summoned Skull 2: Electric Boogaloo 06:03, August 31, 2011 (UTC)

You don't require the exact level for a Ritual Summon, so long as it meets at least the required level. So while you'd obviously not wanna use up extra monsters (sometimes) I don't think it's against the rules.--Kagimizu-Seeya 'round 06:33, August 31, 2011 (UTC)

Well, yes of course you can use more than enough levels, like if I ditched 3 Level 3s for Legendary Flame Lord. However, my question is, can I use more monsters than necessary? Could I ditch the two Level 3s and a Level 8 when the Level 8 alone satisfies the requirement? This came up in a duel earlier and I really want to know for sure. -- Summoned Skull 2: Electric Boogaloo 06:40, August 31, 2011 (UTC)

Well, I dunno then. Maybe it would depend on the order you tributed them. If you tributed the level 8 first, then I suppose you would already meet the requirements, and any more wouldn't be allowable. But if you sacrificed the two level 3s first, that requires still one more level, so the level 8 monster falls under the "[level here] or more" stipulation.--Kagimizu-Seeya 'round 07:33, August 31, 2011 (UTC)

You must tribute monsters at a same time.-- (talkcontribs) 08:10, August 31, 2011 (UTC)
WC11 confirms this.
If you have a level 6 Ritual;
you can send 2 Level 3 monsters, or 1 Level 6.
but you cannot send 1 Level 3 and 1 Level 6.

If the ritual spell card requires it to be the exact amount, then you cannot use more monsters than necessary.--DoitForTheLulZ! (talkcontribs) 21:09, August 31, 2011 (UTC)
