I've used ALO with the old [[Tornado Wall]] and [[Astral Barrier]] lock. So slow but so much fun. I've never tried WATER Xyz/Synchro but without ALO it wouldn't be hard. However, if you want to mix the two, I guess either run tuners that aren't WATER? And a lot of the [[Generation Fish]] cards are WIND for easier Rank 3s. And with lower levels/ranks maybe you could even main deck [[Gravity Bind]] and/or [[Level Limit - Area B]]. Just some ideas, I apologize if they're not workable. :*Interesting deck idea. I think A Legendary Ocean could work great for Xyz, but harder for synchro. The tricky part is you would need to plan to depend on it, which means decks heavy on removal would mess you up, or plan to lose it, in which case you may have inconstancy. I use to run a water deck back in the day with ALO focused around abusing level 5 monsters. [[B.E.S. Crystal Core]] was one of my favorites then. With Xyz the lowering isn't really a problem; instead of rank 4 you get rank 3 and instead of rank 5 you get rank 4. True the monsters may be weaker, but you still can summon them easily enough. The main advantage I can see would be summoning level 5s easily to get some good control, ditching field, and getting out rank 5 xyz. Tuner would probably be the harder part. I wouldn't use gravity bind or such though. From what I seen a good bit of decks use level 3s often now and xyz have no level, so it is too easy to get around it. If I were going to try this deck, I'd go for [[A Legendary Ocean]], [[Warrior of Atlantis]], [[Abyss Soldier]], [[Levia-Dragon - Daedalus]], and maybe [[Blizzard Dragon]], [[Forgotten Temple of the Deep]], [[Moray of Greed]], and Codarus. [[DNA Transplant]] could really screw with your opponent too, so it may be a good side deck (if they synchro.xyz a lot). A discard and revive focus could work somewhat with the theme too. With I could offer more directly helpful advice, but this seems like one of those decks you'd need to try first. Revision as of 03:05, 26 April 2012

I have been wanting to make a Water Deck for a while now, but can't decide whether or not to make A Legendary Ocean Deck or a WATER Xyz/Synchro deck. I was trying to figure out a way to put the deck types together, but as A Legendary Ocean lowers the level of all WATER monsters by 1, it would mess up my Xyz Summons and Synchro Summons. I noticed that it could also help in the same way, as long as I could remove it from the field and re-play it, I could potentially Synchro summon or Xyz summon twice as many monsters. Some loops I thought of were Codarus and Divine Dragon Aquabizarre, which would also allow me to destroy two of my opponents cards, and Brionac, Dragon of the Ice Barrier by himself could recycle it by returning it to my hand so i can immediately re-play it.

If anyone has any ideas or tips on how to make this deck work, they would appreciated.
