Insect Decks are surprisingly easy to use (for some reason, this was ranked 'S' on my DS evaluator, not that that's anything to judge by)! Anyway, the aim of this deck is to get out my Synchros (so I can get out a maximum of six) and then feed off the Insects in my graveyard with various card effects. Help will be appreciated! Additionally, I've found out about the card Verdant Sanctuary which probably renders many of my search cards sub-par, so advice on cards to get rid of would be nice too. Chromace (talkcontribs) 11:28, June 1, 2013 (UTC)

...I guess I can figure that out myself...

...but thanks in advance for extra suggestions. Chromace (talkcontribs) 11:48, June 1, 2013 (UTC)

Why not try something like 1-2 Doom Dozer? It's an easy to summon boss. Also, Tour Guide From the Underworld might be a quick way to get to Resonator to set up for a Dark Bug play. Lastly, try a few Level 4 insects to increase your play options, Armored Bee and Beetron are two great level 4 insects that allow you to kill bigger monsters, or make a quick Rank 4 Xyz play. --Dark Ace SP (Talk) 15:12, June 1, 2013 (UTC)
Darn it, you're using a DS. Never mind, but do try to include a few Doom Dozer, and I think Armored Bee should be a card in Over the Nexus. --Dark Ace SP (Talk) 15:14, June 1, 2013 (UTC)
Thanks, I've updated my deck.

Monsters first - got rid of one of my three 'Doom Dozers'. 'Pinch Hopper' and 'Noisy Gnat' traded for 'Emmersblade' due to extra search power and extra 'Gokipon' for that same reason (Thanks for the Armoured Bee suggestion. It's surprisingly helpful). Not much to say about spells, except for adding another 'Verdant Sanctuary' (searching reason) and a 'Dark Hole'. Replaced 'Spider Egg' because I've never had the chance to use it with something more destructive (Lair Wire). To summarize, I've made the deck a little more searchable as to increase the likelihood of drawing my Resonators. More suggestions are welcome (thankyou!). Okay, I acknowledge being vague. Could I please have suggestions on how to further increase the search power of my deck? Thanks! Chromace (talkcontribs) 06:45, June 4, 2013 (UTC)
I would drop Emmersblade for 2 Aztekipede, the Worm Warrior. Honestly, I like to run insects in the DS game as a beatdown and recovery strategy. I use strong insects like Insect Knight to beat the opponent, and then just grab another copy with Verdant. It's actually kinda effective. However, if you want to continue on this path, you don't need so many search cards, it's redundant and will eventually just become pointless. You only really need 2 Gokipon and 3 Howling Insect for defense. After that, I'd worry about getting Resonator to the grave as quickly as possible for Dark Bug, so I'd try 1 Foolish Burial. As for Liar Wire, you have a lot of cards that banish already, and that makes summoning Doom Dozer and possibly Aztekipede harder to do, even with Burial. I suggest removing just two Lair Wire for something like Compulsory Evacuation Device or Soul Taker. --Dark Ace SP (Talk) 12:39, June 4, 2013 (UTC)
Well, I'm happy to experiment (and you happen to be right, as new deck is quite successful).

Admittedly, the only reason I used so many searchers was because I wanted to bring out 'Underground Arachnid' easily (I liked messing with my opponents monsters). Anyway, the main Synchros this deck now relies on are 'Dark Diviner' and 'Chaos King Archfiend'. If it were to benefit my deck, would there be a way to get out different Synchros? Thanks. Chromace (talkcontribs) 01:01, June 9, 2013 (UTC)

You don't really need 3 of each synchro, by doing that you've kinda limited your options. Try to include other Synchros if possible. For example, you won't always want to summon Chaos King Archfiend, and for that reason you might have a Black Rose Dragon to nuke the field if needed. In that same regard, you won't really summon all 3 Mefist, so maybe drop 2 for a Stardust Dragon and a Thought Ruler Archfiend. The rule to extra decks is versatility. Think of it this way, the Extra deck is a toolbox, and you need to have tools for different things. --Dark Ace SP (Talk) 03:31, June 9, 2013 (UTC)
Well, I guess, considering the luck it takes to get a Level 8 Synchro out (come to think of it, I haven't even used Mefist while developing this deck...), it would do good to have something with a little protection. The way my deck is constructed makes it easy to get out Level 7s and 4s, but not much else, so I understand what you mean.

But apart from your advice, there's nothing much I can think of doing... I'll be testing the deck out, so I'm open to any suggestions in the meantime. Thankyou for the support! Chromace (talkcontribs) 07:53, June 10, 2013 (UTC)

Drop 1 Black Rose for an Armory Arm. --Dark Ace SP (Talk) 12:15, June 10, 2013 (UTC)
Thanks (sorry for the wait)! Now then... (best of 3)

Blackwing Deck - 2 wins (was faster. Possibly destroyed strongest Synchros)
Naturia Deck - 2 wins (higher ATK...I think)
Laval Deck - 2 wins (opponent was too slow)
Gem-Knight Deck - 2 wins (got rid of the fusions)
Vylon Deck - 2 wins (vulnerable to 'destroy' cards)
Fabled Deck - 2 wins (matched summoning without losing hand)
Steelswarm Deck - 2 wins (maintained defenses until opponent decked out)
Evil Hero Deck - 1 win 2 losses (overpowered by insanely high ATK. More specifically an OTK)
Gladiator Beast Deck - 2 losses (ravaged the field and blocked attack chances)

Could I please have suggestions for some informative archetype duels (and what do the losses and wins mean?) Chromace (talkcontribs) 06:08, June 16, 2013 (UTC)

Basically it means how many matches you played with the deck. You won the Blackwing - Steelswarm matches 2 out of 3, and lost to the Evil HERO and Glad Beasts in the last two matches. Overall, I'd say it's pretty impressive. --Dark Ace SP (Talk) 12:44, June 16, 2013 (UTC)
Right. In that case, do you have any side deck suggestions to counter Gladiator Beasts and Evil Heros (well, not specifically those ones, but I can't think of any others right now)? Unfortunately, I'm kind of stumped on this because I've never thought of creating a side deck before (the only thing I can think of is Imperial Iron Wall but that's a given). Thanks! Chromace (talkcontribs) 09:15, June 18, 2013 (UTC)
For Glads, see Gladiator Taming and G.B. Hunter. For Evil HERO, use Forbidden Chalice or Effect Veiler to negate the effects of Dark Gaia. To that same point, Battle Fader can be used to buy extra time. Also consider having an extra Compulsory, Mirror Force, and Torrential in the side. --Dark Ace SP (Talk) 00:19, June 19, 2013 (UTC)

I would have added extra copies of 'Mirror Force' and 'Torrential Tribute', but I'm still using September 2010 lists (you know, WPA2 and WEP). And I could not find Gladiator Taming so I had to settle with 'Enemy Controller'. Thanks! Chromace (talkcontribs) 07:20, June 21, 2013 (UTC)
