:::::: I would assume that it's thematic. Yugi's era, in a way the foundation of dueling, placed the origins of Duel Monsters in ancient Egypt, and Gravekeepers have a strong Egyptian theme. Also, Atem's Puzzle (the item whose completion arguably was the beginning of Yugi's journey) was hidden, if I recall correctly, in a tomb before it fell into Sugoroku's possession. And finally, (this is a meta example - not in the sense of 'metagame' but the sense that it involves real life) many people believe that 'the old ways' of dueling shown in the original series have been lost in recent times. Who better to preserve these 'dead' ways and show that the traditions can still be kept alive than Duel Spirits who live to protect sacred burial places from defilement? :::::: Or they know everyone wants to make Malefic decks with the Seal and the popularity of Gravekeeper's so they're putting this in to make more money off of that. @Jamesfury - Madolche are somewhat handicapped by the limit of [[Ultimate Offering]], but they have a pretty neat ideal OTK and several others that can be generated similarly (see [[Card Tips:Madolche Magileine]]). Revision as of 03:24, 24 August 2012

So, we're discussing the F&L list for the September 2012 format over at the Banlist Discussion forum, I think we should also talk about what decks we except to see creep back up in usage, at least for the first couple of constructed format YCS of the format. So, does anyone want to make some predictions? I have my own assumptions, but what do other think? ---Dark Ace SP (Talk) 22:25, August 21, 2012 (UTC)

I think HEROes might see some more usage, especially with Heroic Champion - Excalibur out now, they have an instant 4000 atk beatstick, which can sometimes be more helpful than Blade Armor Ninja. Neos01 (talkcontribs) 22:38, August 21, 2012 (UTC)

Considering that they haven't been hit, I'm sure Dark Worlds will still be going strong; dunno if they'll be Tier 1 though. HEROes are a possibility, and maybe even stall (perhaps a stall build that uses Tsukuyomi+Mask of Darkness+Drop Off could somehow be played?) I'm sure Dino Rabbit will still be around, but likely not as powerful, and possibly Wind-Ups too even though limited Wind-Up Zenmaighty hurts them quite bad. I doubt Inzektors will be widely played now due to them being rather crippled. 108.196.206.15 (talk) 00:28, August 23, 2012 (UTC) EDIT - Also, with the new support they're getting in Duelist Pack 13: Kite Tenjo, particularly Photon Satellite, Radiant Photon Paradios, and the Galaxy cards, does anybody else besides me think that they could become meta in the future?
Photons are going to be trollin'. With all the support, they'll probably abuse cards like Volcasaurus, Atlanthial, the Constellar's, etc. And that's without any TCG exclusives. I don't think Tsukuyomi will be played much, unless a new deck is made. Dino Rabbit will still be around, not as broken, but still pretty powerful. Heroes will DEFINITELY see play with all the omni Heroes released, and since they have so much support, there will probably be a few decks based around them. Wind-Up may be played, I don't know if they'll be tier 1, maybe high 2. Jamesfury (talkcontribs) 03:44, August 23, 2012 (UTC)

Does anyone think any hidden arsenal themed decks will see the meta? ive been hearing about a rathor good Laval based Quasar Turbo build.--SepulchresApprentice (talkcontribs) 15:29, August 23, 2012 (UTC)

Lavals, can definitely be meta. ---Dark Ace SP (Talk) 18:44, August 23, 2012 (UTC)
I think with the release of the Legendary Collection 3: Yugi's World, Gravekeeper's could play a further part in future tournaments. Let's be honest, Royal Tribute and Necrovalley cripple nearly every deck. --BobblesTalk 18:49, August 23, 2012 (UTC)
Gravekeeper's are GX era archetype, they won't be in Yugi's World. But yes, they will see a lot of play. Also, depending on the quality of the Seal we might see Malefics get some competitive play as well. I've heard Madolche and Abyss are pretty powerful, but I don't know how much potential they have since I haven't played with or against them, guess I'll do some testing. *cough*Ultra Rare versions of almost every Gravekeeper’s card.*cough* - [1] --BobblesTalk 19:07, August 23, 2012 (UTC)
Why? Isn't Legendary Collection 3 supposed to be YUGI'S World, meaning a reprint of the iconic cards from the original series? Not that seeing Gravekeeper's reprints are bad it just doesn't fit the theme of this set. Jamesfury (talkcontribs) 23:04, August 23, 2012 (UTC)

Geargia also have a OTK, but it takes about 2-3 turns to set up, so it's not perfect. ---Dark Ace SP (Talk) 20:09, August 23, 2012 (UTC)
Well, I guess that's fair, its not like the Exodia FTK or Hieratic OTK which can only take one turn. Madolches might be a multi-set archetype like Photons, Blackwings, etc. So we might see a card that replaces Ultimate Offering in a future set. Jamesfury (talkcontribs) 23:04, August 23, 2012 (UTC)
