should we expect to see Reborn Tengu to be on the Forbidden list?Ja1lbreakr0cks (talkcontribs) 00:54, January 10, 2012 (UTC)

Either Forbidden or Semi-Limited, due to his effect required OTHER Reborn Tengu to be Special Summon. With him being Limited, he's senseless body of card with 1700 ATK. --FredCat 01:11, January 10, 2012 (UTC)

TCG only, it can't be hit. It's like if you made a card at home "Level 1, infinite attack and defence, cannot be removed from the field any way and when it attacks you win the match. It should totally be banned."
It may be made into an OCG card but until then it can't be limited, semi-limited or forbidden because as far as they're concerned for the ban-list it doesn't exist.
If it did make its way to OCG though it'd probably be semi'd.101.162.51.126 (talk) 15:28, January 10, 2012 (UTC)

It doesn't deserve a ban and limiting it means it DIES and it isn't broken to be semid so its good as unlimited LaserGhost (talkcontribs) 15:30, January 10, 2012 (UTC)

It's TCG Exclusive so it can't be. It's a really healthy card for the metagame, allowing Decks to do much better than they normally will, it's just that certain cards break it. Anyhow, if I really expected it to be hit it would be Semi-Limited. A Limit would make it useless but it's definitely not banworthy as it does no harm at one. While I wouldn't really say that Tengu is 'healthy' for the meta game; BF2 is exactly right it will never get hit. The same goes for Tour Guide and Tour Bus. The reason is because the ban list is dictated by the meta game of the OCG not the TCG, which is why you'll find OCG exclusive cards on the list and not TCG ones. Which is very annoying as the TCG and the OCG are completely different games now and thus deserve different ban lists. Anyhow even if we did have TCG ban list Tengu wouldn't be banned he'd be semi'd, same goes for the Tour Guide and Tour Bus.--The FireFALL (talkcontribs) 03:10, January 11, 2012 (UTC)

I wouldn't say never, that's what Extra Packs and Structure Decks are for. Also, why isn't it healthy? BF2 Talk Deck Guides 17:43, January 11, 2012 (UTC)

I agree that it isn't healthy for the metagame. The way I see it, Tengu has a centralizing effect on the metagame, which reduces variety, which is considered a healthy aspect of a competitive game such as Yugioh. It's part of the reason the limited/ban list decisions are made. If something becomes overly dominant and centralizes the game, a change needs to be made. That said, while Tengu is a case of this, it's likely not going to be hit at this juncture, as the centralizing effect is not very potent. Tengu isn't exactly a "build-around-me" card that crushes the metagame; it is an enabler for synchro decks, especially decks using the Plant engine. If anything, Plants are going to finally earn a chunk of the engine banned instead of any adjustments to Tengu at this point. 129.1.72.62 (talk) 22:36, January 11, 2012 (UTC)

A few things

First off, just because a card is TCG exclusive, it doesn't mean it won't get hit. If a card only the TCG has is too damn overpowered, they will hit it.

Tengu does not fit the description of "too damn overpowered". It's pretty good, but any skilled player should be able to play around it. Here's an idea: Warning the first one. Now they have to wait to draw another, and when they do, there will only be one more to grab. And, as the Anon above me said, only Plant decks really use it. A few Fabled decks here and there too. But, people just don't use it as much as they did a few months ago. -- Summoned Skull 2: Electric Boogaloo 21:38, January 13, 2012 (UTC)
