Overview

General Information

This page is dedicated to helping all duelists out there that need help with their decks. If you're a duelist that needs some help, we'll build you a deck. All you have to do is post here and tell us what kind of deck you want and how much money you're willing to spend getting the cards. If you already have a deck, if you post it in the Deck Template form, we'll revise it and give you our insight. We'll also make a side deck on request, but most likely you'll be directed to this list.

Example Requests

  • Ex1: Hi, could you make me a Butterspy deck? I have a money limit of $300. ~~~~
  • Ex2: Hey, would you look at my Butterspy deck for me? ~~~~

We'll make it a personal project and try to make sure that you're pleased with the final product. Each deckbuilder will only take one deck at a time and they will mark it by adding their part of their username to the header of that section and will let you know when they're done with a project by replacing their name with "Finished" on the request.

Please note that it's your job to collect the cards, our job is to create the perfect decklist for you.

Rules and Guidelines

  1. Please check the top of this page to see if Decks for Free! is "Open", if we are "Closed", then we will not accept requests.
  2. Make all requests in their own section and not directly beneath another person's request. Click here to start a new request.
  3. Have a direction for your deck (Examples: Dark World, Burn, Spellcaster, Bounce, etc.). Random strings of cards will not be helped. Remember that if you ask for a generic theme, such as Swarm or Chaos, you're leaving your deck up to the deckbuilder's preferences. If you don't want that, be more specific in what you want.
  4. Please don't post a request and ask for a Meta deck, you can find a decklist for almost any meta deck on most major Yu-Gi-Oh article sites, like TCGPlayer.com or Alter Reality Games. OCG decks can be found at Shriek.com. However, if you want to post a request for a meta deck, but want a unique twist to the deck to make it less meta, you may post that, just have something in mind when you do post.
  5. Give us at least 2-3 weeks notice if you plan to take a deck to a tournament, it is very difficult to make a deck for a tournament with only a few days of notice.
  6. Remember that we do build decks on a budget, but we can't make a great deck for under $20, the modern world doesn't work like that any more, so try to have a budget closer to $40 or $50.
  7. Do not ask for more than one deck at a time as others will have to wait longer for the deckbuilder to get to them. If you do post more than 1 request, we will close one of them, until the other one is finished, or just remove it. Also, don't post many requests back-to-back, as that creates more work as well.
  8. You may request a deckbuilder to help you, please note that it will only ensure that deckbuilder's help. It will not ensure the immediate help of that deckbuilder.
  9. This is a free service, but we are taking time out of our lives to help you. Be courteous and respectful to us, and please don't leave us waiting for you to answer a question.
  10. If we believe a duelist has abandoned their request, we'll place a notice on the request warning of it's removal within 24 hours unless some activity happens, but don't count on a notice, as a request can be removed without one.
  11. Decks that are not signed with 4 tildes (~) will not be helped, and the request may be removed without a notice.
  12. We reserve the ability to delete any and all requests for with or without a reason, including having an attitude toward a deckbuilder(s) on this wiki, abandonment, or failure to follow rules.
  13. Completed decks will be moved to the archive after a few days. Also, if you saw a deck on your post, but your post is now gone, check the most recent archive.
  14. We expect that you'll have access to and/or be able to buy cards from online retailers or hobby stores, we base all card prices on TCGPlayer or Google Shopping. We can, on request, verify prices on other sites. We will automatically chose the lowest card price for you.
  15. This page is not a page for people to post their opinions. Please, if you want to give your opinion on someone's deck, post it on the user's talk page.
  16. It is highly recommended that you browse the deck galleries or archives before requesting, you may find what you're looking for there before requesting our assistance. Also, please try to update the builds in the archives or galleries by yourself before asking us, you may ask us if you don't know how to update a deck, but it helps us if you do update an old deck by yourself.
  17. Please post all requests at the bottom of this forum, and not at the top of the Requests section, this is for archival purposes, and makes it easier on the staff.
  18. Please use proper spelling, grammar, and capitalization. Don't posts requests that have "I hav dek tht nds impvmt", it will be removed without further consideration. This also applies to the title of your request.
  19. Please make an account and log in before posting a request. Mere IP signatures will not be accepted, because it makes it more difficult for the deckbuilders to contact you. Making an account is simple and easy, just go to the top of the page and click on “Create an account”, then follow the simple instructions. Requests signed by with mere IP addresses will be given 24 hours to make an account.
  20. Remember to use a Template:Decklist for all requests, if you are posting your own deck. You can also post a Screen Shot of your deck from Dueling Network, if that's quicker. But a template is preferred.
  21. Please do not ask about the status of your request. When a deckbuilder has taken your request they will tell you that they have taken it, and you'll see a part of their username in the request title. Again, please don't ask about the status, but do at times comment on the deck, otherwise it may be removed because there is no activity from you or a deckbuilder.
ANY REQUEST THAT DOES NOT FOLLOW THESE RULES WILL BE GIVEN 24 HOURS TO COMPLY.

24 HR - Disaster Dragon Help

Hi, could you make me a Disaster Dragon Deck? I won't be using any synchro's or xyz's so you don't have include any elements needed like that for the deck. I've got a limit of £50-55 if possible. --NejiHyugaRocks (talkcontribs) 19:05, May 15, 2013 (UTC)

Umm...Disaster is kinda hard to play with only 1 Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon (Unless you can get Tempest, Dragon Ruler of Storms), any chance you want to try Chaos Dragon instead? --Dark Ace SP (Talk) 03:27, May 17, 2013 (UTC)

Yeah Chaos Dragon is a better idea. Changed my mind on using Xyz cards so you can recommend those too if need be. --NejiHyugaRocks (talkcontribs) 17:30, May 21, 2013 (UTC)

One last question, is this deck more for the casual side of dueling or the competitive side? --Dark Ace SP (Talk) 01:01, May 24, 2013 (UTC)
24 Hour removal notice for no answer to the proposed question. --Dark Ace SP (Talk) 22:27, May 30, 2013 (UTC)

SM10 - Majestic Dragon

Could you now build me a competitive Majestic Dragon deck please? Guardmaster (talkcontribs) 00:47, May 18, 2013 (UTC)

Sorry, I had this done after about 2 days, but my Internet has been ridiculous...I'll try to post this up in just a little bit if I can. Synchro Maniac10 (talkcontribs) 01:01, May 28, 2013 (UTC)

Now, sorry about that, here you go.

I summoned one of the Majestic Synchros about 1/3 duels. You make Lv 8 Synchros with the searchable Guard/Corsesca + a Dragon Ruler or by Synchro climbing with Phalanx. The trickiest part to make this work was Level Eater, since it's a DARK Insect, haha. You have to try to draw into it or dump it with Tidal in order to summon a Majestic Synchro and start the loop. The loop's key card is REDMD, as it can revive Majestic Dragon every turn and serves as a target for Level Eater. But probably the coolest, best part about REDMD in this particular build is that you use Majestic Star's negate and nuke effect, and just bring it back with Red-Eyes on your next turn, or even the same turn if you didn't use REDMD's effect yet. It's a dirty, devastating trick. If you can't get the Majestics going, the fallback plan is to backup an easily summonable Stardust Dragon with a Rank 7, which is easy to make of course. From there, you can just grind the game out. The S/T's, aside from staples, pretty much either support the deck by searching, deck thinning, and bringing back banished Dragons, including Stardust/Red Dragon Archfiend and Majestics. Does that work for you? I also created and tested a Dragunity deck, but I decided that this build was better because it's not as linear. Synchro Maniac10 (talkcontribs) 02:26, May 31, 2013 (UTC)

SM10 - Blue-Eyes Dragon Deck

Hey, I'm back again. Would it be possible for one of you to make a deck using the new cards from the Blue-Eyes structure deck and other dragon cards? Kwkws (talkcontribs) 17:27, May 27, 2013 (UTC)

We can build something, but it probably won't be until after Dueling Network gets the new cards onto their database. --Dark Ace SP (Talk) 20:31, May 27, 2013 (UTC)

No problem, I'm fine with that. Kwkws (talkcontribs) 21:25, May 27, 2013 (UTC)

Actually, I've got this. I can build this on YGOPRO and test it. I wasn't satisfied with a previous build I've made, so maybe I'll have better luck this time around. Synchro Maniac10 (talkcontribs) 00:59, May 28, 2013 (UTC)

Ace - Volcasaurus Deck

Well, it's been about 3 years since i used this. I've learned to make my own things, but now I have a great idea for an awesome strategy but i have no clue what cards would i use to do it. So here is my plan, Number 61:Volcasaurus. I'd like to somehow get more than one of him on the field, spam special summon things with high attack to my opponents side then use his effect. On things like lava golem or perhaps i think that archfiend trap that tributes a winged-beast. i honestly have no clue where to begin. I'd love it for you guys to help me out again ^_^, I would love the older deck you guys made for me updated too, but i'll ask later perhaps(http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Forum:Decks_for_Free!/Archive4#Nightmare_Burner). I just want the main focus on this deck to be Volcasaurus if you can.(edited) Necrozkai (talkcontribs) 01:42, May 29, 2013 (UTC)

Could you please sign in or make an account. Hastydemon2 (talkcontribs) 00:37, May 28, 2013 (UTC)
3 years is actually quite long, and many of the old builders have left the wiki. I'm one of the last ones who joined near the end, when Jon Kavocs was around. --Dark Ace SP (Talk) 02:04, May 28, 2013 (UTC)

Yeah alot of the deck-builders have retired since then, in any case i don't mind who builds this deck as I've seen what you guys have been making for the past few archives and every deck I've tested works perfectly. Thus i trust anyone who will make it will be successful. Thanks in advance. No spending limit or anything seeing as i have access to almost anything. Necrozkai (talkcontribs) 01:42, May 29, 2013 (UTC)

In all honesty, the only 2 monsters that can really work is Lava Golem or Grinder Golem. Both aren't really that favorable, but if you can get a Solar Wind Jammer/Cyber Dragon out with a paired Instant Fusion, you'll probably be golden, because you can do 3000 damage with Number 61 and then follow up with Gaia Dragon, the Thunder Charger for 2700 raw points of pain. That's probably the most linear I can offer, if you want something that has more variety, we can do Gagaga. But be forewarned, the Volcasaurus build will have some consistency issues, while the Gagaga version won't have as much kick. --Dark Ace SP (Talk) 03:44, May 30, 2013 (UTC)
Just note that I would pick Grinder Golem, sure he isn't monster removal, but he works better with Solar Wind Jammer. Summon Jammer, then summon Grinder, then follow-up with Instant Fusion. --Dark Ace SP (Talk) 03:45, May 30, 2013 (UTC)

If it would make your life easier it doesn't have to 100% be about summoning volca, do your best though, as long as it works even 25% of the time i'll be happy. I was thinking of dropping the idea all together with how hard it sounds. Necrozkai (talkcontribs) 01:33, May 31, 2013 (UTC)

The issue with Number 61 is that his effect is really situational, and he isn't meant to be the focus of a deck, just a game ender in the middle to late game. --Dark Ace SP (Talk) 01:49, May 31, 2013 (UTC)
Just an idea, this deck concept screams OTK, maybe using Inferno Reckless Summon and/or Junk Synchron + Synchro Fusionist with Instant Fusion, and maybe even more face-beating with Miracle Synchro Fusion for Supreme Arcanite Magician. OTK by pulling a Rank 5 or 2 and clearing the field, and maybe backed by a Fusion or Chaos boss? Synchro Maniac10 (talkcontribs) 02:34, May 31, 2013 (UTC)

Nephthy - Nordics

While I realize it's the worst of the three Nordic God cards, and has the worst sub-archtype, I was wondering if someone could build a good Loki, Lord of the Aesir deck that actually includes Nordic Alfar monsters. UndiscoveredSong (talkcontribs) 22:08, May 28, 2013 (UTC)

I'll make this. Nephthy (talkcontribs) 09:37, May 29, 2013 (UTC)
Sorry that I keep you waiting, but this is much harder than it seems. So, are you okay with a build that focuses on Mara of the Nordic Alfar's effect, or you'd prefer something with the Dverg+Ljosalf+Svartalf combo? Or maybe include both? Nephthy (talkcontribs) 09:56, May 31, 2013 (UTC)

Hasty - Tidal Nimbles

I'm having a really hard time building this deck, so I'd like some help. I'd like a deck based around Tidal, Dragon Ruler of Waterfalls and the Nimble series of cards. I've been building this deck for quite a while, but I can never find a build I like. AnnoyingMacroPrick (talkcontribs) 02:04, May 30, 2013 (UTC)

I'll take a crack at this. I've been wanting to try Nimbles. Hastydemon2 (talkcontribs) 02:32, May 30, 2013 (UTC)
Yay, thank you!. I've been playing the deck with varying degrees of success, I'm pretty much netdecking whatever I see since every time I build a deck by myself, it ends in disaster! AnnoyingMacroPrick (talkcontribs) 02:53, May 30, 2013 (UTC)
Oh, as for budget, I have most of the main cards for the deck, I think. The Extra Deck might be a problem since the good stuff is usually the most expensive. I have a Number 11: Big Eye though, so that's a start. I don't want to try to spend TOO much with this deck. I've spent enough cash to get the stuff I already own. AnnoyingMacroPrick (talkcontribs) 09:29, May 30, 2013 (UTC)
Alright, the main deck shouldn't really be too much since most of the cards seem fairly cheap. And I'll make the extra deck with that in mind. Hastydemon2 (talkcontribs) 15:41, May 30, 2013 (UTC)

I tried to keep the Extra Deck monsters fairly cheap, keeping them somewhere around a max amount of $5 for a single copy.

The Nimble set and the Frogs work really well together. And adding Tidal helps a bit more with the lack of attack power the Level 2 monsters have on their own. Between Sunfish, Swap Frog, and Tidal its really easy to send Angler to the grave setting up a field of atleast 2 monsters, and in some cases getting 5 monsters out to unleash the Rank 7 Xyz monsters. I didn't include Dark Hole because a lot of times you'll have a full field set up and destroying your own monsters wouldn't really help you win anything. I also thought about Moray of Greed but found that with the amount of cards you can use for discard fodder with Swap Frog, Tidal, and Stream it really wouldn't help. The trap line up helps combat Dragossacks and Big Eye to an extent, and Return from the Different Dimension helps recover cards for Ronintoadin and Tidal plays.

Also the deck can surprisingly hold its own even when you don't have Lemuria out, I was a little surprised by how much a Dark Mist backed by 2 Gachi Gachi put people in a bind.

If you have any questions, comments, or concerns tell me and I'll try to fix them and get a deck you like. Hastydemon2 (talkcontribs) 20:59, May 30, 2013 (UTC)

Uh... this is embarrassing, but I don't have any of the traps you put in your deck. AnnoyingMacroPrick (talkcontribs) 22:49, May 30, 2013 (UTC)

They are all really cheap. But if you need replacements, drop Bottomless and Compulsory for stuff that removes monsters like Sakuretsu Armor/Dimensional Prison. Drop the Chain for something that negates effects, Effect Veiler is cool if you have it, but again, it's a common so it should be cheap. Return is really old and should be cheap. Finally, Torrential can be replaced by Mirror Force. That's really the best subs I could think of. --Dark Ace SP (Talk) 23:00, May 30, 2013 (UTC)
Um, alright. Whatever you guys say. AnnoyingMacroPrick (talkcontribs) 23:06, May 30, 2013 (UTC)
But, Hasty might be able to come up with something else, so why not wait a little bit longer? --Dark Ace SP (Talk) 00:07, May 31, 2013 (UTC)
Also, I made a build that used Deep Sea Diva instead of the Frogs, fewer traps, and Gold Sarcophagus. That's also a possible route for this deck. I still have it to share if need be. Synchro Maniac10 (talkcontribs) 02:18, May 31, 2013 (UTC)
