Monsters are not win conditions. ...Monsters, even incredibly powerful monsters, are tools to be used at your disposal. They are not win conditions. --Deck Building Basics

While generally true, there still are monsters with such powerful effects that if you successfully summon them, you've more or less established such an overwhelming advantage that your win is nearly inevitable. That is, if you haven't won already.

For this competition, we will be revisiting WDC 19, putting the focus of this contest on monsters with near-ridiculous Summon conditions. However, we'll add a little twist in that the candidates are all capable of tilting the battle in your favour so hard that your victory is nearly guaranteed in most cases.

Guidelines

  • All OCG and TCG cards are fine, as long as it has been released proper.
  • Deck must be in Template:Decklist.
  • This contest will be in March 1st, 2013 Banlist.
  • You will be given maybe 1 day if you are late to post, after that, you're out.
  • Deck submissions will open on August 16th, 2013, and are due August 18th, 2013.

Horakhti the Creator of Light

  • sigh* Everyone is going to hate me for making this deck but here goes nothing....

Well, before I see off one of the most broken decks in history, I might as well send it off with style.

So this deck is fairly simple. Basically you special summon as much Dragon Rulers as possible to create Mecha Phantom Beast Dracossack, use his effect to create 2 tokens, and then tribute those three to summon out a god card. Once you have all three god cards, tribute them for Horakhti the Creator of Light and win the game!

Sadly, in case you can't bring out your god cards in time, you can always use Skypalace Gangaridai or Super Dreadnought Cannon Express Gustaph Max to help win your games.

I also added Spell Striker to either help tribute summon, Redox's effect, or help bring out a rank 3 monster. Unfortunately I wanted to use Number 48: Shadow Lich, but it hasn't came out yet.

Anyways that's it for this deck. Again, all you have to do is pretty much swarm with the Dragon Rulers and tribute for the Egyptian God card. Better hurry though, you only have a week left to use this deck. Fallensilence (talkcontribs) 23:43, August 18, 2013 (UTC)

Sophia, Goddess of Rebirth

Well, I decided not to go with the Duel Terminal Storyline, because that'd just be

  • A - Dissonant
  • B - Plain silly

so instead, I've decided on a much more...annoying pathway (for the opponent that is). Just one thing - sorry Dueling Basics, you taught me so much, but now I'm going to break another rule.

This build is based on my Turbo Cannon Deck, as it already satisfied two of the four offerings needed to summon the Goddess (Synchros and XYZs). For a Ritual monster, Relinquished fit in well with the stalling elements of TCD. Unfortunately though, we have to be satisfied with Instant Fusion. 'Sigh'...

To ensure that Sophia will be an instant win once it hits the field, the deck attempts to damage my opponent just enough to do so, using the effects of Turbo Cannon, Relinquished and Lion Heart.

Taking into consideration how weak all my monsters are (bar Sophia), I have a few layers of protection wrapped around them.

  • Dark Bribe - It's better than being Dark Holed (or Heavy Stormed)
  • Zerozerock - The linchpin of the deck since almost all of its monsters have 0 ATK. Makes 'One Shot' Turbo Cannon a multiple shooter and Relinquished a dangerous force even against multiple monsters.
  • Effect Veiler - For any monsters who would destroy my precious Zerozerock...or use in a Synchro.

The tortoise is a boon to this deck, stopping it from becoming overwhelmed by overly powerful destructive monsters...then providing itself as XYZ material (Mira for protection, or Lion Heart for damage) for Sophia.

Mystic Piper has the vital job of increasing the likelihood of drawing Sophia, while Where Arf Thou? has the equally important job of searching for Mystic Piper (or even Relinquished for a 1000LP cost). One for One is there just because it's good general support and SoRL is in there as a temporary Zerozerock.

In summary...

  • Find the cards (Piper, Where Arf Thou?)
  • Protect the cards (Zerozerock, Bribe, Veiler)
  • Hinder the opponent (Testudo, Relinquished)
  • Hurt the opponent (Turbo Cannon, Lion Heart)
  • Clear the field (Sophia)
  • The Coup de Grace (Sophia)

CXyz Skypalace Babylon

Missign0

"Skypalace Gangaridai" is a great weapon of destruction, and it gets better when it transforms into "CXyz Skypalace Babylon". But how do you summon it? Well, since it is a unusual shaped aircraft - and WIND-Machine - why not keep the theme?

Step 1: Xyz Summon "Gangaridai".

The key to summon "Gangaridai" in this Deck is to use the Level changing ability of the MPB monsters. They are all Level 4, so with one MPB-Token they go to Level 7, and with two they go to Level 10.
"Double Summon" or "Ultimate Offering" are used to quickly summon two MPB and two Tokens, by using "Megaraptor" + "Tetherwolf", "Harrliard" + "Coltwing" or any other possible combination with "Scramble!! Scramble!!" or "Vertical Landing".
As soon as "Gangaridai" is Xyz Summoned, its effect is activated to destroy a troublesome card and cause effect damage. It won't be enable to attack, but that's OK, because it's going to be upgraded.

Step 2: Rank-it-Up.

Unfortunately there isn't any direct searcher to the "Rank-Up-Magic" cards, so "Gold Sarcophagus" and "Sacred Sword of Seven Stars" are used to get it (remember, Level 4 MPB + one MPB-Token = Level 7).
With "CXyz Skypalace Babylon", it's time to finish the war. Attacking twice with ATK 3800 AND causing effect damage? If that isn't enough, "Solidarity" and/or "Limiter Removal" are there to do it.

Other Support:

"Gear Gigant X" is used to search any necessary MPB, "Number 42" to swarm with tokens and "Dracossack"... Well, you know :D
Got trouble? "Do a Barrel Roll". Or do a "Moon Dance Ritual" if necessary.

Hastydemon2

Surprisingly this deck can actually bring out Babylon fairly easily.

Since Babylon is such a major threat to, well just about everything, the opponent will try to take it down quickly. Most monsters don't live to tell their tale after Babylon hits the field so I didn't really worry about monster effects so much, the real problem would be those pesky spells and traps. Which is where Lance and Trap Stun come in handy, even though Lance take 800 Atk away from Babylon its still packing a threatening 3100 Atk and 4000 Def. Trap Stun is really cool here, being chainable and stops anything that would disrupt my momentum.

In this deck Gold Sarcophagus is used how it was originally designed to be used, search out the card you need most at any given time. While it can be used to banish Tempest to search out Debris or Lightning, Tempest is usually used to search out a Dragon that you need. Basically Gold Sarcophagus would search out Galaxy Queen's Light, Resonance Device, Barian's Force, or Trap Stun depending on the situation.

Dimensional Alchemist can recycle 1 monster that is banished, while also contributing to the summon of Darkflare or Collapsarpent. Sacred Crane gives the deck more draws with Summoner Monk, which is useful when you need to draw into specific cards. The usual combo I go for is Summoner Monk, to Sacred Crane, draw a card, overlay for Lavalval Chain, Chain's effect, mill Eclipse Wyvern, then banish Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon. After that if you have Collapsarpent or Darkflare you can get RedMD easily and set up the field for a Babylon play. Schwarzchild is also a Wyvern target and opens up Rank 8 Xyz plays but its better when used for Gangaridai with Queen's Light or Resonance Device.

Sometimes things don't go as planned, and it might take a little longer to set up a Babylon play, so as a backup plan I added Utopia Ray V which can pretty much steal a game or two if you're lucky.

The rest of the deck is fairly simple, most of it is just support for the main purpose. And I purposely avoided the Exodius and Mirror Lady Bug combo since that just seems too easy. Hastydemon2 (talkcontribs) 19:01, August 16, 2013 (UTC)
