Comments

Tough choice for me since I love so many of the Duel Terminal Archetypes. Would have done Gusto if they were on the list but since they weren't, went with the one I make the most consistent deck for. Should be fun. hpboy111

I just picked out of a list, so sorry if your fav. didn't get a spot. ---Dark Ace SP™ (Talk) 03:34, October 9, 2011 (UTC)

Sorry about not turning up for the last competition; I was on holidays for the later part of that week. I'll try to get it in asap this week though. --Blue-Eyes Starlight Dragon (talkcontribs) 03:50, October 9, 2011 (UTC)

Relax, it not mandatory that you show up for every WDC. But having 10 contestants and watching all the card slots get filled makes it a bit fun though. ---Dark Ace SP™ (Talk) 04:09, October 9, 2011 (UTC)

Sorry about missing last time, got caught up in homework and the like, but thanks for using my DT idea! :D --Darkskylarkalexanderx (talkcontribs) 16:40, October 9, 2011 (UTC)

I think I have a pretty good idea of what to do with this bunch of Toolboxers. :P It'll be fun. :) Synchro Maniac10 (talkcontribs) 01:39, October 10, 2011 (UTC)

Darkskylarkalexanderx, the idea was great, plus quite a few good decks pop up from the DT Packs. ---Dark Ace SP™ (Talk) 01:56, October 10, 2011 (UTC)

Well, it's been a while since I entered this series of contests, though my lateness seems to have left me with the last option. Let's do this. --Gadjiltron (talkcontribs) 05:16, October 10, 2011 (UTC)

Do Note: Slightly late entries will be accepted, but there are still a few hours left for Oct. 15. So hurry. ---Dark Ace SP™ (Talk) 02:41, October 16, 2011 (UTC)

I wish to give Gadjiltron, BF2, and hpboy111 a last chance, so I WILL EXPAND THE DEADLINE TO 8:00 PM (GMT -6) OF OCT. 16, and I feel very sorry to everyone who did post on time, but rest knowing, that if they don't post by 8:00 PM (GMT -6), they will be disqualified , and I will start the voting process. ---Dark Ace SP™ (Talk) 18:11, October 16, 2011 (UTC)
  • Don't you mean 8 PM (GMT-6)? It's already 12 AM in GMT+6.--YamiWheeler (talkcontribs) 18:15, October 16, 2011 (UTC)
Whoops, changed. :) ---Dark Ace SP™ (Talk) 18:16, October 16, 2011 (UTC)
I had to go away for the weekend so I was unable to get the deck finished. BF2 Talk Deck Guides 21:45, October 16, 2011 (UTC)
  • Right, I've never done this before, so... the poll below is the main voting for the contest, yes? Any other rules?--YamiWheeler (talkcontribs) 01:47, October 17, 2011 (UTC)
Yes, that's the one. Just 1 poll, I end up using 2 different types of polls, both give the same result in the end. Just no self-voting. It's unfair and really messes up the contest. ---Dark Ace SP™ (Talk) 02:18, October 17, 2011 (UTC)
Sorry guys, I decided the other one was a bit unfair, no way to know if you voted for yourselves by logging out, although I'm pretty sure none of you would do that. ---Dark Ace SP™ (Talk) 02:23, October 17, 2011 (UTC)

Decks

Place your decks under the correct section. Remember to give a light explanation of the basis for the deck, or the general idea.

Ice Barrier

Basically, this deck revolves around getting the Ice Barrier Synchro monsters on the field, while using some powerful support from these basic Spells and Traps. Fangzntalonz (talkcontribs) 05:12, October 15, 2011 (UTC)

Naturia

The basis for my deck is to lock the opponent out of a normal summon or special summon, using either Naturia Mantis or Naturia Horneedle, and to use either Stag Beetle or Butterfly as the costs for the effects. Butterfly helps to block attacks and buy some time. Pinch Hopper helps summon any of the Insects in the deck, except Dozer or Aztekipede. Now Doom Dozer is a perfect fit, its easy to summon, high ATK, and kinda good effect, are all good reasons to run it in the deck. Aztekipede is also in there for the same reason, except with lower ATK. Grow-Up and PLZ help me get to the Naturia Synchros or Underground Arachnid, which all prove be very annoying and deadly. Verdant Sanctuary lets be toolbox what I want, except for the tuners and Doom Dozer/Stag Beetle.---Dark Ace SP™ (Talk) 22:10, October 14, 2011 (UTC)

Jurrac

This isn't an amazing deck at first glance, but it has a lot of power. It's mainly used to summon "Evolzar Laggia" and "Evolzar Dolkka", but it can be used to Synchro Summon or just simply overpower the opponent. The very few traps are to protect the Jurracs, so they can be used for an Xyz/Synchro Summon next turn. "Rescue Rabbit" is in simply to speed up the Xyz Summons. But, it's an easy deck to run (providing you draw the right cards), especially with "Pot of Duality" to get the needed cards quicker and "Jurassic World" boosting most monster's ATK to over 2000. Thanks again for using DT and I hope you like the deck! --Darkskylarkalexanderx (talkcontribs) 11:47, October 15, 2011 (UTC)

Gem-Knight

This deck work as both a toolbox and a swarm deck. Sanyx, Armadillo, and Turtle help search for the cards I need, while Amber and Iolite recycles the cards I have. The point is too get Gem-Knight Fusion in your hand as fast as possible. Supervise helps out the geminis, while Gemini Spark clears the way for your fusions. Gem-Merchant help give your normal monsters a boost (including the geminis). Future Fusion is so you can get Garnet in your grave to swarm with later.

Once you have the cards ready, Doublet Fusion can clear your opponents S/T Zone with Amethys (ideally, you'll want to do it on your opponent's end phase). And with all the cards you will be removing with Gem-Knight Fusion and Doublet Fusion, I added in a tech card: Return from the Different Dimension.

This deck has many ways to handle your opponent, whether it's by swarming the field or getting by their plays. And it can get the cards it needs fast. Elite Wolf (talkcontribs) 02:42, October 16, 2011 (UTC)

Laval

This is a project I was working on before this contest, but nonetheless: I had been racking my brain on how to abuse the new support that Lavals received. They already were very fast and could explode into big combos (involving "Red Nova Dragon"), but RND was no longer good enough with threats that could easily remove it. So, I wondered how Lavals could summon "Shooting Quasar Dragon." It seemed impossible using the standard monster build, but one of my friends suggested using "Level Eater" in the equation. His original method didn't quite work, but inspired mine.

The combo that this deck uses is to use "Rekindling" to summon "Laval Magma Cannoneer"/"Flamvell Firedog" x2, "Tender of the Laval Volcano" x2 and "Laval Forest Sprite." You Synchro Summon "T.G. Hyper Librarian" with "Cannoneer" and "Tender", then Synchro Summon "Lavalval Dragoon" with "Forest Sprite" and "Cannoneer." Finally, reduce "Dragoon"'s Level to 5 to Special Summon "Level Eater" and Synchro Summon into "Formula Synchron" using it and the last "Tender." And there you're left with all the pieces to summon "Quasar" as well as a few extra cards in hand.

That may seem like a lot of pieces required to execute the combo, but it's actually fairly simple. As Laval users will know, "Flamvell Firedog" was the original catalyst into Laval combos - by using it to summon "Forest Sprite", you can make "Dragoon", who can then dump your "Tender"s and get your combo rolling. In the past, drawing "Firedog" and "Rekindling" was an instant "Red Nova Dragon." These days, it is just as pivotal. However, times have introduced new methods for milling Lavals. Alongside "Firedog", we now have "Sweltering Heat Transmission Field", which you can use to mill 5 Lavals using "Tender"! Other methods into "Dragoon" include using "Laval Lady" to banish "Forest Sprite" and reviving it with "Cannoneer." This sets up the Laval side of the combo easily.

The problem comes with "Level Eater" and its lack of synergy with the Laval milling cards. To counter that, I run 3 "Tour Guide From the Underworld" to search out "Sangan", allowing me easier access into "Eater." Alongside that use, "Tour Guide" also allows me to go into "Number 17: Leviathan Dragon" to gain some momentum in the game while I set-up my combo. It also has fantastic synergy with "Gold Sarcophagus" - which is usually used to search "Rekindling" - by using "Leviair the Sea Dragon" to summon a monster banished by it (which can be "Eater"). Using "Laval Lady", one can also banish "Magma Cannoneer" and Special Summon it with "Laval Cannoneer" to create "Lavalval Chain" - who then mills the cards you need. "Foolish Burial" and "One for One" join the group of cards used to add consistency to milling "Level Eater."

"Maxx "C"" is run as tech to support the combo - as -ing yourself to mill cards and being overwhelmed early on are two of the major problems of this deck. "Maxx "C"" helps both by either preventing Synchro swarms, or drawing your pieces from them, and maintaining hand advantage.

As a last resort, the old "Red Nova Dragon" combo is still accessible in this deck, using less resources than the "Quasar" one.

It may look a little mishmashed, but this deck definitely has the capability to throw down a quick "Quasar" as early as Turn 2.--YamiWheeler (talkcontribs) 15:19, October 15, 2011 (UTC)

Sacred

This is an idea that me and Elite Wolf, who gave me the general idea, came up with. Surprisingly it works! Allow me to explain. T.G. and Sacred both focus on Toolboxing and searching the deck. Combined with their special summoning powers, they can easily get 3-4 monsters on the field in 1 turn when combined. Lv 8 Synchros are easy, as well as Lv 5's, which is why I had to include Blade Blaster. Rank 3's are really easy for the deck as well, considering Warwolf, Dabaran, and Sheratan are all Lv 3. Call of the Haunted is basically a free search if it's MSTed, making it a risk-free card. Horn is great draw power considering there are 12 targets (Rhino, Warwolf, Dabaran, and Sheratan), including Hyades in the Extra Deck. All of the traps provide great support and protection for my big plays. I hope you like it! Synchro Maniac10 (talkcontribs) 02:03, October 16, 2011 (UTC)

Verz + Steelswarm

Verz Deck. Designed to rapidly Summon either Verz Xyz Monsters or Steelswarm Tribute Monsters for field control. Generic Staples + Verz support. Sorry about the lack of real innovativeness (and the fail!description, I'm not good at describing Deck strategies), but I tested several versions and this was the most capable. And after all, the purpose of the Verz is to overwhelm all stand before them... --Blue-Eyes Starlight Dragon (talkcontribs) 09:20, October 15, 2011 (UTC)

Congratulations to YamiWheeler, wow what a great deck, I really loved the idea, personally.

I also saw some other great decks posted for this WDC, great creativity guys, and PLEASE go to Forum:Ideas for the 3rd Installment of WDC, because we'll need more ideas to continue WDC. ---Dark Ace SP™ (Talk) 22:06, October 17, 2011 (UTC)
