Hi, first time I've done this. It's been a while since I've built a deck, so I'm a bit rusty. This is my Dark Magician/Numbers deck (well, okay, more of a Dark Magician/Utopia deck, but same difference). It's a casual deck, not meant for tournament play, just mostly for fun. It's still bit of a work in progress, but this is what I've got atm. It is, in a sense, primarily a fusion of Yugi's and Yuma's decks with some elements of Yuya's deck designed for swarming the field to set up bigger summons, mainly Fusion and Xyz Summoning. It also has some recycling elements to it, as I like to keep my options open. It is a larger deck, I know, but I'm more accustomed to that, as prior to the deck limit change, my original deck was roughly 80 cards, so I'm more familiar with larger decks. I would like to know what you think I should tweak and such, as it is still a work in progress. Thanks for your time.

Dark Magician/Numbers Deck

chimera and joker are both really unreliable to use here. Also by extension gazelle can go as can curse. Magic formula can go too, one DM is not enough to bother running it. Might try running astral force over limited barians, and perhaps take out something for summoner monks and sacred cranes? Take out the utopia support, its not needed, and put in number wall instead. Try to find a way to search time and stargazer, maybe adding in more odd eyes could work for that. Deathwingincarnate (talkcontribs) 02:18, January 24, 2015 (UTC)

Umm... I don't mean to be critical, but your advice doesn't help. You can't just say "card does not work, take it out" without giving me a real reason behind it. No reason behind it means that there's no reason to remove it at all. On top of that, what good would Astral Force do for me over Limited Barian's Force? It'll just clog the deck as I have no card in the current Extra Deck that it would be of any use to. It'll just get in the way, so that's no use, either. And, again, you give me no reason for adding it, so that's hardly helpful. While I'm no deck building pro, I do know how the game is played, so I play with what I like, and it generally works. I asked for advice on how to smooth out any rough edges, not to have half the deck dismantled for no reason. That's not constructive or helpful. As Yugi once said, "You should know that when a Duelist builds his deck, he chooses his favorites from many different types of cards." So try to be more specific on your reasons behind your statements, otherwise it won't do any good for anyone. Zero Blade Tiger (talkcontribs) 03:18, January 25, 2015 (UTC)

you are right, Im sorry about the first set. My understanding is the deck wants to exyz summon mostly with some fusion options put in. The key to that are the 2 pendulum magicians, without them you cant easily bring out the 6 and 7 vanillas to do your xyzs with. Second chimera is really mediocre at best, 3 cards for a 2200 attackers with no other really useful effects is just really sub par, even for casual play. I also don't get why curse of dragon is in there. Magic formula is a small boost with no other useful effects, wonder wand might work instead, especially if you try putting in skilled dark magician, to ease DM summon. My point is not to say your deck sucks scrap it. All I want to do is remove uber situational or inefficient cards and either replace them with new ones that might work better or thin the deck down for consistency, I understand your desire to have 60 card decks, I like mine above 40 as well. I just find past 50 the deck becomes very very inconsistent (maybe its just a bad shuffling ai and bad luck. Maybe.) I really want to try to get this thing to a point where you can reasonably crank out xyzs. And maybe over barians force, there exists a different rank up, admiration of the thousands can recycle dead xyzs while argent chaos can reuse itself once. Not too important just a thought.Deathwingincarnate (talkcontribs) 05:17, January 25, 2015 (UTC)
