So I'm going through this wiki for the first time and I'm seeing many extraneous pages. For example the trivia for cards have their own pages....wouldn't it make more sense for them to be edits on the actual card's page that they are trivia for?

You haven't seen certain trivia pages. Go to trivia pages for cards like Stardust Dragon and Number 39: Utopia and other ace cards. Their pages are huge. You're most certainly right that we do have extraneous pages, maybe in the field for card artworks and galleries, but for certain trivia pages it's very much justified.
