Cardcar D activates tributing itself. so how can Effect Veiler target a face-up monster on the field and negate its effects if its in the grave?

A card effect activates and resolves in the same place. If you target a face-up "Cardcar D" with "Effect Veiler" and then it Tributes itself, the effect wil be activated on the field, resolved on the field and it will be negated. --Missign0 (talkcontribs) 03:56, November 8, 2015 (UTC)

Also, I believe similar to Breakthrough Skill, Effect Veiler negates monster effects even if that monster's effect activates in the graveyard, as long as Veiler targeted and resolved on that monster on the fieldThechosenone124 (talkcontribs) 06:48, November 8, 2015 (UTC)

Neither "Breakthrough Skill" nor "Effect Veiler" can negate the effects of a card that activates in the Graveyard, like "Sangan" or "Necro Gardna". However, as Missign0 mentioned, they can negate effects that activate on the field (even if the monster is in the Graveyard when the effect resolves), such as "Cardcar D". --SnorlaxMonster 06:55, November 8, 2015 (UTC)
