for this card effect, i activate it before my opponent attacks my monster/ i attack his monster, or after he destroys it that is after damage calculation? cos I'm a bit confused, like i understood it i activate it before my opponent attacks so i can decrease his attack/defense so for him to be destroyed and my monster remains on the field
