Hello, I'm Funk1393 and lately I have been using this Relinquished Deck for the current Metagame with great success in friendly duels at the tournaments (I use my Boss Rush Deck for the real deal) and I was wondering if there was any opinions the community might have about for when I actually enter with it.
x40 MAIN Deck
x3 Relinquished x3 Manju of the Ten Thousand Hands x2 Senju of the Thousand Hands x2 Sonic Bird x1 Sangan x3 Apprentice Magician x1 Old Vindictive Magician x1 Crystal Seer x1 Hand of Nephthys x1 Sacred Phoenix of Nephthys x1 Chaos Sorcerer x1 Gorz Emissary of Darkness x2 Lava Golem
x3 Black Illusion Ritual x3 Gold Sarcophagus x1 Monster Reborn x2 Mystical Space Typhoon x1 Giant Trunade x1 Dark Hole
x3 Interdimensional Matter Transporter x1 Torrentional Tribute x1 Needle Ceiling x2 Dust Tornado x7 Traps
x5 SIDE Deck
It is really easy to play, I just summon a Manju, Senju, or Sonic Bird and search for the appropriate Ritual card on my first turn. Even if the opening move really leaves me open to FTK's it is usually fine since I really have not seen those kind of decks since a duelist that used the Batterymen OTK stopped coming to the tournaments. Afterwards, I usually have an Apprentice Magician in the hand as well for my next turn, so I set it to attempt to get an early Phoenix out. At the same time I try to bait my opponent into activating some of their set Spells and Traps and at the same time destroying them with MST/Dust so that I have an opening for Relinquished to come into play.
Normally when that happens Gold Sarcophagus has searched a Lava Golem or I drew him already. Also with the current Metagame decks typically having two monsters on the field by that as well I summon my Golem and then absorb him with Relinquished, which has made my opponents look at me as if I came out of a time capsule. I then proceed to start attacking directly repeatedly
If worse comes to worse, I bring out Chaos Sorcerer and Gorz (which are my other top targets for Gold Sarcophagus), which really help with defense and field control when Relinquished is not on the field and I am in a corner. Lately it has been more like I have been getting Sorcerer, Phoenix, and Relinquished all together though, which usually mean I am going to win.
There are major weaknesses with my Deck though which might be obvious to other duelists such as a weaknesses to Anti-Meta Decks (Stun, RFG etc.) and Naturia, as well as OTK Decks. Six Samurai with Shi En on the field can give me trouble too but normally I can get Lava Golem in time to have a slight advantage. I also have the case of bad hands a lot when it comes to tournaments (which may not count as a weakness?). But that tends to happen a lot to the other non-meta decks I see.
