I swear, every topping HERO deck I've looked up is either based on or relies on Masked HEROes Dark Law, Acid, and Anki. Yes, they are some of the best Masked HEROes, but seeing them in EVERY topping HERO deck gets tiring. Does anyone have any ideas on how to make a HERO deck that can do well that, for example, 1) Does not REVOLVE around these 3 (four if you count the standard second Dark Law) but can still put them to good use while giving other Fusion HEROes love; and/or 2) Use Omni HEROes (1 E-Hero + 1 monster of whatever Attribute) and other regular Fusion HEROes in an effective way, maybe without need for the Masked HEROes? The best things I can think of are these: - A banishment-based Fusion HERO deck using cards such as Fusion Gate, Chain Material, and Parallel World Fusion (also maybe Burial from a Different Dimension and Dimensional Fissure), although I'm not so sure since some of these cards would be hard to search and Return from the D.D. is banned so I can't use it, despite its heavy cost. - Form Change mania including the Absolute Zero/Form Change/Acid field nuker. Probably with some Quick Boosters and ways to search Poly or Form Change (i.e. Blazeman and Shadow Mist, respectively). - Pendulum HERO deck that allows for rapid searching with Blazeman and Shadow Mist, quick Xyz Summoning (which could go with the above decks, too), and therefore quite a bit of Extra Deck action.

Most of the above ideas are not complete but I especially feel like the banishing and Pendulum ideas might be going somewhere. But what do you guys have to say? And also I'd appreciate input on how M-HEROes such as Divine Wind and Goka might be good in a competitive deck, since I never see them in the topping lists. I'll be honest, I used the banishing HERO idea when Dragon Rulers still existed. The Pendulum thing has been tried in the OCG and did top a local tournament in Japan, but again, it was about grabbing Mist, getting Mask Change and making Dark Law, but since that deck used the Magician Pendulums as the base, it was also able to make the other Omni HERO monsters using Poly (I like Fusion Substitute better, personally). --Dark Ace SP (TalkPage) 00:51, July 28, 2015 (UTC)
Woah woah woah woah woah. Did you just say that someone used the deck I made to win a tournament? Oh my god and you're that guy I discussed this deck with! I knew the deck would do good, I'm still using it and just like you said, magicians are great for Shadow Mist. Do you have any link as for the tournament? Or just who used the deck? Thanks!
And for the HERO deck, there are so many ways to make E-HEROs OP, but you'll still have to use some Xyz, but at least they're not Masked HEROs. I got like 15 different E-HERO decks (some use mask), and they all crush the competition of DevPRO competitors. Here are some tips to create yours:
1>The Hands. I can't begin to say how many times "Fire Hand" and "Ice Hand" won duels even without getting to fusing anything. They're that good.
Bladedge. This saved me so many times from "Djinn Releaser of Rituals", as well as get me a lot of OTKs due to "De-Fusion". Just let Blazeman send it by it's effect and watch your level 4 2600-ATK monster kill off Summon-Sealing Monsters. Just have one and it'll save you dozens of times.
"R - Righteous Justice". This card is beautiful. Equivalent of Acid.
Water-Based. I used this and it was amazing. Simply put out more Water E-HEROs (Ocean, Ice Edge and even Bubbleman), for 2 reasons: First is that Zero is one of the best E-HERO fusions, and second because it allows you access to "Salvage".
Hope this helps. Blueexx (talkcontribs) 09:46, July 29, 2015 (UTC)
It was in a tournament weekly result post on The Organization, but I don't remember the week, and the search feature on the Org isn't that good. --Dark Ace SP (TalkPage) 21:05, July 29, 2015 (UTC)
Also, Releaser is now banned, so I'm not sure you really need Bladedge. About the Water Salvage thing, Tin Goldfish can trigger Mist and is a salvage target. --Dark Ace SP (TalkPage) 21:08, July 29, 2015 (UTC)
Blueexx, I found the list. It wasn't a local tourney, it was a World Championship Qualifier (Tokyo one, not the Osaka one). Here are the reported decklists. I don't however agree with the player using 1 Mask Change. --Dark Ace SP (TalkPage) 21:18, July 29, 2015 (UTC)

Since Xyz are still needed, do you have any recommendations? I currently use Number 39 (3 copies) and Heroic Champion: Excalibur, and have just added Number 103 (I might get to test it tomorrow if I am able to go to a local store's tournament). I'm planning on getting Blade Armor Ninja. I've also tried the Electrum/Gustav Max OTK deck and it has done very well on YGOPro, but executing the OTK itself is complicated and hard to remember, plus it's not fun.
