Lists

Fairy ( (てん) 使 () Tenshi "Angel") is a Type of monster often represented by beings such as sprites, angels, or in some occasions, anything that represents organic and mechanical beings of advanced extraterrestrial origin. They're primarily LIGHT, although there are also those of all six common Attributes.

Fairies have their own Field Spell Card "The Sanctuary in the Sky", searcher "Nova Summoner" and double drawer "Cards from the Sky". It is very easy to summon powerful, high-Level Fairies with cards like "Valhalla, Hall of the Fallen", "Court of Justice", "Celestial Transformation" and "Gellenduo".

Fairies have three of their own Structure Decks: Structure Deck: Surge of Radiance (OCG-only), Structure Deck: Lost Sanctuary/Lost Sanctuary Structure Deck and Structure Deck R: Surge of Divine Light/Structure Deck: Wave of Light.

A large proportion of this type is classed as female, and as such, many female duelists have used Fairy monsters in both the anime and manga. In the anime, lead female characters Téa Gardner, Alexis Rhodes, Zuzu Boyle and Skye Zaizen (as Blue Angel) have used Decks consisting of mainly Fairy monsters. Fairy monsters have also been used in the anime by Zigfried von Schroeder, Sartorius, Z-one, Dumon and Aura Sentia.

Prominent Fairy monsters include: "Arcana Force EX - The Light Ruler", "Archlord Kristya", "Athena", "Banisher of the Radiance", "Bountiful Artemis", "Darklord Morningstar", "Guiding Ariadne", "Herald of Perfection", "Honest", “Tethys, Goddess of Light”, “Splendid Venus”, "Master Hyperion", "Odin, Father of the Aesir", "Vylon Omega", "Number 16: Shock Master", "Artifact Durendal", and "Sacred Arch-Airknight Parshath".
