"Dinowrestler" is an archetype of Dinosaur monsters used by George Gore in Yu-Gi-Oh! VRAINS. With the exception of "Dinowrestler Coelasilat", all of its non-Link members have 0 DEF. They are also all EARTH monsters, except for the WIND "Dinowrestler Capaptera".

Design

Appearance

Unlike the "Gouki" archetype whose members are composed of vaguely humanoid wrestlers in various animal-themed costumes, the members of the "Dinowrestler" archetype are all anthropomorphic dinosaurs who each specialize in a different form of combat sport.

Etymology

The members are first named with their fighting style along with the dinosaur their base off from.

Playing style

The archetype heavily relies on using various effects to maintain control over the Battle Phase and controlling the outcome of the battles between monsters in favour of the player. A common thread with the Extra Deck monsters is when you declare an attack, the opponent cannot activate spell/trap cards until the end of the damage step and a few of them can make your opponent attack only those monster(s) creating potential stalling. Most of their cards released so far in the TCG become stronger when an opponent controls more cards than you do, and their Field Spell, World Dino Wrestling, allows each player to only attack with 1 monster each Battle Phase. This makes them highly adept at dealing with Swarming strategies, but being low on field presence makes them vulnerable to powerful removal cards like Kaijus.
