- Yormungarde (or more appropiately, Jörmungandr) is a sea serpent of the Norse mythology. According to the Prose Edda, Odin took Loki's three children, Fenrisúlfr, Hel and Jörmungandr. He tossed Jörmungandr into the great ocean that encircles Midgard. The serpent grew so big that he was able to surround the Earth and grasp his own tail, and as a result he earned the alternate name of the Midgard Serpent or World Serpent. Jörmungandr's arch enemy is the god Thor. Fenrisulfr, or Fenrir is Loki's giant war wolf who takes the form of a mist wolf Fenrir in this card game. The God hero "Tyr, the Vanquishing Warlord" (or "Tyr of the Nordic Champions") gave his right hand to Fenrir to keep the imprisoned wolf calm. Fenrir is to be loosed on Ragnarok.
- This monster has a counterpart: "Kairyu-Shin".
