  • In Norse mythology the valkyries are dísir, minor female deities, who served Odin.
  • "Erste" is the German word for "the first".
  • This card's Japanese name is Walkure Alteste, which is German (although the word order is wrong) for Oldest Valkyrie. This name also pays tribute to Die Walküre, the second of the four operas that comprise Der Ring des Nibelungen.
  • Like the other Valkyries that have a number in their names, the sum of the level of this monster and the number that appears in the name is exactly seven.
  • In the anime, this card is the only Valkyrie shown with different position in the artwork (with both Erste and the horse in engaging position for battle) compared the other three Valkyries.
