In Norse mythology, Týr is the god of single combat, victory and heroic glory, portrayed as a one-handed man.

This card shares its name with "Tyr, the Vanquishing Warlord".

In OCG, he is the only Nordic has no "Beasts", "Alfar" and "Ascendant" in its name.
