• Like many other "Frog" and Toad monsters, this card's Japanese name is a pun. This card's name is a pun of 生きかえる (Ikikaeru) or "to return to life".
  • This is the second monster to have its name treated as "Des Frog", the first being "Dupe Frog". Both monsters have the same Attribute, Type, Level, ATK and DEF, as well as the highest DEF of all Level 2 monsters.
  • In Feudal Japan, a ronin was a samurai who currently had no liege, usually because its original one had died without an heir.
  • The leaf on this monster's head is similar to the leaf on certain types of Baki in the game Drawn to Life.
  • This monster also bears a strong resemblance to Gamabunta, the chief toad from the Naruto and Naruto Shippuden series.
