  • Ride of the Valkyries is the popular term for the beginning of Act III of Die Walküre by Richard Wagner.
    • In Norse mythology, the valkyries are dísir, minor female deities, who served Odin. As per their name, meaning "Choosers of the Slain", the valkyries were charged with helping Odin to select only the bravest warriors to die in battle, and join him in Valhalla. In Valhalla itself they also acted as servitors to the chosen heroes.
  • This card's Japanese name in the anime, "Walkuren Ritt", is German for "Ride of the Valkyries". However, the proper German spelling would be "Walkürenritt". The German name, "Ritt der Walküre", is a more direct translation of "Ride of the Valkyries".
