"Strix" in this card's name is based on Strigidae, the scientific name for "true owls" or "typical owls", hence the monster's appearance of an owl.
This and Raid Raptors - Rise Falcon are the only Winged Beast-Type DARK Xyz Monsters. They are both Rank 4 Xyz Monsters with 100 ATK and 2000 DEF.
