- Black Corn is made from various corn seed hybrids mixed with sticky rice in China (F1 Hybrid). It's called Hēi Zhēn Zhū (黑珍珠) which is translated as "Black Pearl".
- This card's hull, the underside of the ship, resembles a corn husk, hence the name "Black Corn".
- This card's Number may refer to the fact that this card is the second Number that Yuma wins in the manga and that this card's Number is twice the value of the ATK of Yuma's Number card "Utopia".
- This card is the first "Number" to be revealed only in the manga version of Yu-Gi-Oh! ZEXAL.
- This monster appears to be a parody of the "Black Pearl".
- In the anime, "Number 34: Terror-Byte" was the third "Number" Yuma obtains. However, this is the third "Number" he obtains in the manga.
- While normally this card's hull is literally a black corn, it seems that when Yuma Summons it, its hull becomes lighter, like a normal corn.
