In the anime, this is 1 of 2 Ritual Monsters that does not rely on Level, but certain kinds of monsters, to Ritual Summon. The other monster was "Five-Headed Dragon", which was Ritual Summoned with "Dragon Revival Ritual".

"Lord of the Red" somewhat resembles Joey Wheeler while he was possessed by the spirit of "Red-Eyes Black Dragon" during the Yu-Gi-Oh! Capsule Monsters series.

The OCG/TCG's "Legendary Flame Lord" is a Ritual Monster with similar stats and effects to this card.
This monster is a Dragon-Type monster, despite resembling a Warrior wearing armor based on "Red-Eyes B. Dragon".

This card's OCG/TCG artwork is based on the pose that Joey Wheeler took when he wore this mosnter's armor during his Duel with Valon.
