- 鳳凰 (pronounced fènghuáng in Mandarin and hōō in Japanese) is a Chinese mythical bird, sometimes considered the East Asian equivalent of the Western phoenix. Just like the East Asian dragon, its body parts are inspired by those of real animals. Technically, 鳳凰 is the names of two birds, with 鳳 (fèng, hō) for the male and 凰 (huáng, ō) for the female.
- Understandably, "Fire King High Avatar Garunix" looks similar to this card, since they are both based off the same creature.
- This card has the same Type and Attribute and a similar Spell and Trap Card destroying effect as "Sacred Phoenix of Nephthys" and both are based on mythological birds.
