  • This card's name is a portmanteau of doragon (Dragon) and dorado, Spanish for gold, referencing the gold(ish) color of Normal Monster card frames.
    • Also, the Kana that make up its name (ドラゴラド) make a palindrome.
  • This card is a miniature version of "Darkflare Dragon".
    • This card bears some resemblance with "Koumori Dragon".
    • Its head/helmet bears resemblance to cards such as "Blue-Eyes White Dragon" and "Red Dragon Archfiend".
    • ** This dragon also shares characteristics of "Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon" and "Blue-Eyes White Dragon", particularly the black metallic skin, lack of hands and purple eyes. and it has a Special Summon effect like "Red-Eyes" plus one that turns monsters into level 8 like "Blue-Eyes". Also, Its attack is 1100 less from the defense of "Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon" and its defense 1100 less from the attack of "Blue-Eyes White Dragon". 1100 is the difference between the total of attack + defense of "Blue-Eyes White Dragon" (5500) and the total of "Red-Eyes B. Dragon" (4400), a previous form of "Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon".
