- This card's artwork with its sky full of eyes and mouths might be a reference to the artistic works of Salvador Dalí.
- This card has the reverse effect of the anime version of "The Seal of Orichalcos", letting the Monster Zones be used as Spell & Trap Zones.
- According to a Pojo post by Dan Scheidegger (an Upper Deck Entertainment employee), "Dark Spirit of the Silent" was intended to be the "card equivalent" of this card's anime effect.
- This card's effect to inflict damage to the opponent equal to half of their attacking monster's ATK is a reference to the Ghost of Dark Sanctuary which was Summoned by this card's anime incarnation. The Ghost was capable of possessing an opponent's monster, would inflict damage equal to half that monster's ATK, and make its controller gain Life Points equal to half its ATK if the opponent attempted to attack with it.
