- One of the ceremonial rods in the artwork of this card (or possibly "Curse of Fiend" instead) appears in the artworks of "Fusion Recycling Plant" and "Twister".
- Four duplicates of the top-right area of "Dark Magical Circle" appear in this card's artwork, forming a complete circle.
- In the anime and video games, this card is referred to as "Dark Magic Ritual".
- This card's artwork served as the basis for the Japanese anime artwork of "Dark Dragon Ritual".
- This was one of only a few cards not to have a passcode until its release in Legendary Collection 3: Yugi's World Mega Pack.
- When this card was released in Premium Pack 1 (TCG), there were several misprints of the card with the text "Marshmallon" replacing "Black Magic Ritual". "Marshmallon" was the next card in the list.
